I had made this delicious cake when I was younger. Everything was the same except we had melted chocolate over the cherries in the middle layer and cooled it in the frig. for about a hour or so when the chocolate was set up enough and brought the cake back out to finish the third layer with cherries and whip cream. Sadly, I'm allergic to chocolate however, I love to bake with it. I won't be able to eat it, but it'll make me happy seeing my family enjoy it! Thanks for another great recipe!
Omg, allergic to chocolates is the worst allergy I can think of. How brave that you are still baking with it for your family ❤️
@@MyGermanRecipes awww, thanks. I agree, it totally stinks, but I tell myself that at least I'm not allergic to the smell of it too! So I live vicariously through family and friends. I bake, they eat. . ;-)
@@MyGermanRecipes I made this for Thanksgiving. I had a bit of an incident when cooking the sour cherries....the juice got too thick. I'm thinking I probably didn't watch the pot close enough! Regardless, it was a great hit, almost everyone wanted a second piece. Thanks so much!
@AMG , hi, and thanks so much for the suggestion! Merry Christmas (Happy Holidays)!

I hope it all turned out well 😀, Happy Birthday to your dad!
Clear and precise. Exactly how I made using a slightly different recipe. This looks much better and will use it next time.
