I don’t mind the anti-climactic deaths, if the whole point is that it’s meant to be down to earth and un-fantastical. The shock is supposed to be how human the death is. But I feel like those kind of endings, for Nightwing should be the exception, and not the rule. I don’t really buy the idea that night wing could be beaten by Harley Quinn. She could hold him off long enough for more powerful villains to finish him off, but actually managing to kill night wing seems a bit out of her weight class. Nightwing dieing in an effort to save Damian while they were fighting an army that would have been a serious challenge for the Justice League sounds noble to me
I feel like Nightwing’s death contribute to the story by making the story more emotional or dramatic (like in injustice) really developed Damien Wayne’s character, as Nightwing was a big brother to him and Batman‘s character, because Nightwing was like a son to him.
I know this video is basically a year old & don't know if anyone will see this comment, but since it’s a Nightwing death video, I thought about the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths and it gave me the idea of what if they had a Stephanie Brown who was Nightwing because Dick sacrificed himself to save her. So in this story, Main Arrowverse Clark goes to Earth-49(I just picked a number) to save people from the anti-monitor wave. We're following Steph who's throwing a Deathstroke minion around in a warehouse in Bludhaven, she's angerly asking were Deathstroke is. Steph takes the Deathstroke Minion's gun and points it a him, the guys begging and then Clark comes in, getting in between the two. Steph realizes what she almost did, she drops the gun in disgust. Then Clark & Steph get zapped back to the Wave Rider, she's surprised at where she is, Clark says she's on the Wave Rider and the Monitor who was staring out the window for pretty much the entire time introduces Clark, along with Kara & Lois who are also there to Stephanie as her earth's Nightwing. Clark tells Steph unfortunately that her Earth is gone, Steph walks away saying more people she couldn't save. Steph makes her way to the library, the Super Cousins following. "Um...... we know what it's like to have Survival Guilt over losing your planet." Kara said gently pointing to herself & Clark. “It’s not just that…..” Steph said. “Why did you try to kill that guy?” Clark asked. “What…. What?” Kara said. “A few weeks ago, myself & my boyfriend Richard were fighting Deathstroke. Slade knock me down, he went to kill me, Dick blocked one of his swords with his staff, but Slade quickly stabbed him with his other sword. I then grabbed Slade’s gun and fired, which forced him to retreat. Nightwing’s his, felt like I should honor him in a way, terrible job I'm doing.” Steph answered. Clark placed a hand on Stephane’s shoulder. “He would want you to carry on.” “Thank you.” Steph said. (The death scene) Steph(in Batgirl outfit) held her boyfriend in her arms, a hand over his wound. “NO!!!!, NO!!!!, NO!!!!!!.” Steph yelled. “Steph, it’s okay.” Dick said, putting a hand to her face. “NO IT’S NOT!!!!!!!, I should’ve been better, I shouldn’t have gotten you killed!!!!.” Steph “If I could go do it again, I would save you everytime.” Dick said. Dick’s hand falls as he passes away and Steph cries over losing him. (Flashback over) So Hopefully I wrote a decent Dick Grayson/Nightwing death, he & Stephanie don’t really have a lot of interactions so that’s why I choose her. If this actually happened and Steph was thrown into Earth-Prime on the Arrowverse, her outfits would all be black & blue colors. There could be a scene of her in a therapy session. When the therapist asks if how’s she’s doing, Steph tells her therapist that she has a suit that’s similar to one Dick wore all the time and she talks to her using it as a way to talk to him, the same way people talk to the graves of their loved ones.
Yeah at least in the comic he cracked his neck which makes a little sense but like Damien is hitting people who are way less tough in the head with those nightsticks and a blow to the head of NIGHTWING? that's dumb
How a hero is SUPPOSED to die can be debated. Sure, it might not be satisfying for a low level thug to kill a non-powered hero: Batman, Green Arrow, Huntress etc. However, it does add a sense of realism; that even a hero can die in a normal way. If you were to say throw Nightwing in the Battle of the Somme, odds are he's probably going to be cut down by machine gun fire, step on a mine or die via poison gas.
Dick Grayson also died in new 52 comics where KGBeast shoot him to his head when (as Nightwing) he stands on GCPD rooftop and talking with Batman and Gordon (he was in middle of his joke when he got shooted), but Batman saved him, but (again) he did not remember anything accept classic information (walking, talking and things like that) and that´s why he changed his name on Richard, because he wants to live like new person (I did not read comic where he is "rebirthed", you get that joke, DC rebirth... ehm... well, but i think he became the Nightwing again).
Now that i think about it with the lazurus pit, it would come in handy with how all the superheros have been dying. Does the Pit bring back lost limbs, tho?
dont forget forever evil, i feel like people dont really talk about it at all but he did die in issue 6, even if it was a short period and he was brought back almost instantly. there are a few times he mentions this death in the grayson comics and it is in prime earth
It's a shame to say, but it's true that there's not really the expected heroic way he can go out. The Injustice Dick death got me the most as Damian didn't mean to. It was an accident as Damian's known to have these tantrums. The video game had a scene where Bats says to Damian, who takes up the mantle to be Nightwing that he stopped being his son when he killed Dick, and he was actually his son. Green Arrow asked Bats if he's fine. There's a minor pause and said he's fine. I speculate that Bats still has some remorse to Damian, even though years have gone by.
Atleast the main comic nightwing is in his prime and is seemingly the “main character” of DC’s comics right now. Shame on all these writers making these adaptations where he’s constantly disrespected.
1:16 I don't care what anyone says that is a stupid way to die Sure Nightwing's death in the injustice comic is more effective tripping and breaking his neck ok that's logical but the film is not any sort of logical he just dies from a stick A FRICKING STICK ok it was a metal one for combat and thrown by Damien who's a master at fighting but that is so stupid even more stupid than the time Nightwing fell for Catwoman
Well if the animated stuff is connected to the live action stuff in the dcu then there's nothing stopping James gunn from making a nightwing movie or tv show in animated just like it was originally planned
Batman finally does what he needs to do and takes joker out of Gotham and brings into his own island like Leanne. You from the DC CW shows. So he has a prison island just for joker where he keeps joker and leaves Gotham entirely to give the mantle to Dick. Grayson. Like he's done before when Batman has left and he put on the bat costume. Because we all know joker only cares about Batman. So for the most part joker is completely docile and just spends most of his days talking to Batman in the island prison. But of course they still need resources every now and again. So the only person that he trusts Dick Grayson. He gives him the coordinates to their island prison and he arrives on the prison to bring resources to Batman to look after joker. And joker sets a trap for Dick Grayson killing him upon arrival then fleas back to Gotham to start Batman on his song and dance again. Trying to take him to Arkham and almost kills joker finally but then as dead man Dick shows up to remind Batman of his oath justice, not vengeance and then Batman handcuffs the joker and brings him back to the island prison because it's much more secure than Arkham which angers joker because he was hoping to go back to Arkham to continue what they started.
Damien in the New 52 Animated Universe was essentially Jon Kent to Conner's Superboy. Here is a great character who fans adore, so let's nerf them in every way to make this new character look better.
My imagined death for Dick Grayson is getting caught in a fight between Starfire and Oracle, his two most notable romances over the years, with him essentially getting blown to bits trying to get the loves of his life to stop arguing in a drunken argument over which of his buttcheeks is more shapely, culminating in Starfires plasma bolts blowing up Oracle's overpowered computer, which then causes an explosion - as many of Oracle's computers are so OP that they require cooling via liquid fucking nitrogen - that blasts one of Oracle's sex toys that impales Dick from ass to mouth Vlad the Impaler style.
Not gone lie…..the Lazarus pit having zero consequences for using it is an extremely stupid as hell change. It would just make us wonder why they don’t use it everytime someone dies if it has no consequences even if the death would infinitely be cheapened because of it. At least with consequences we get why it’s not used so sparingly.
We get other death of Grayson in comics Elseworlds: DCeased (zombie), DC vs Vampires (both as human and vampire), and Future State Gotham 😵💫🫨 So far, Dick is still living in the “Dark Knights of Steel” universe, 😓 but dude the DC gods do not want Richard Grayson to live
Oooh HELL NO that's my one of those dc super heroes I admire is worst death of hero I never see it if you see it FORGET your minds because if you see it a hero dying every episode or movie you get worst nightmare then you Sleep
The Damian death was too complicated for it's own good. Shot to temple lights out. No falling and that's what kills him, as it's been said that's just insulting. However a shot to the temple and his death leading to Damian finally taking all Nightwings advice finally to heart could have been huge. He could have left both sides and started or have been a founding member of a 3rd group that was more concerned about collateral damage. But no it's just an excuse for batman to leave Damian. The reason he threw it? Good. Nightingale dying? Sucks but still did a good job. The payoff? Fking garbage.

Could you please do a video on all the times Lex Luthor has gained Superpowers
Damien in the New 52 Animated Universe was essentially Jon Kent to Conner's Superboy. Here is a great character who fans adore, so let's nerf them in every way to make this new character look better.
Literally the Kenny McCormick of DC
Poor Dick 😅😅😅
Injustice is so stupidly killing Dick
Hi

What song is playing in the background
There's a link to it in the comments

Dick's Deaths are always what shakes Batman
Now that nigthwing came back from the death...does it mean he will be red hood?
Jason todd only had 1 small reference i consider a joke
Not gone lie…..the Lazarus pit having zero consequences for using it is an extremely stupid as hell change. It would just make us wonder why they don’t use it everytime someone dies if it has no consequences even if the death would infinitely be cheapened because of it.
At least with consequences we get why it’s not used so sparingly.
We get other death of Grayson in comics Elseworlds: DCeased (zombie), DC vs Vampires (both as human and vampire), and Future State Gotham 😵💫🫨
So far, Dick is still living in the “Dark Knights of Steel” universe, 😓 but dude the DC gods do not want Richard Grayson to live
The Justice League attacked Darkseid on Apokolips in Apokolips War, not mass.
Oooh HELL NO that's my one of those dc super heroes I admire is worst death of hero I never see it if you see it FORGET your minds because if you see it a hero dying every episode or movie you get worst nightmare then you Sleep
Apocalypse War was dumb. Batman should’ve thought “the same guy built from Darkseid’s tech could unknowingly be a mole”
I love my own comment ❤😊❤😊

No BvS reference? Snyder confirmed it was Dick
Dick Grayson. The Peter Parker of DC comics. Always getting screwed over by the writers.
you sure you picked the BEST ones?
I always rejected watching anything Injustice Related due to that horrendous death he has. But WHAT THE HECK! Was that Haerly Quin Thing... I... ._.
He is like William Afton
The Damian death was too complicated for it's own good. Shot to temple lights out. No falling and that's what kills him, as it's been said that's just insulting. However a shot to the temple and his death leading to Damian finally taking all Nightwings advice finally to heart could have been huge. He could have left both sides and started or have been a founding member of a 3rd group that was more concerned about collateral damage.
But no it's just an excuse for batman to leave Damian. The reason he threw it? Good. Nightingale dying? Sucks but still did a good job. The payoff? Fking garbage.
A video recording of the best deaths of a superhero is messed up
Nightwing is my favourite dc superhero, so seeing him die in injustice, made me hate Damien, that and the dcamu making him a stinky brat
