Imagine these in the 90’s 🤯
🤯
it´s was my child dream , i think everybody´s dream
You can never have too many Street Fighter 2 machines!
Ordered this as soon as Amazon UK had it available to pre-order. I have my fingers crossed that we will get all the others and the pocket players.
Wow! There's a super version, too ^^ My Arcade keeps evolving. I always enjoy watching it. I am a Korean fan❤
Cool, thanks!
Always looking forward to you sharing videos with us. 👏
I appreciate that!
This looks great for the shelf but the Pocket Player looks like a better fit for my SF2 needs :-) Great video and keep up the awesome work Jon!
Same for me. SF2 Pocket all the way!
Now if only nintendo will come into the party with their own arcade classic mini with all their arcade games on it,my life will be complete😁
No kidding!
It wouldn't be a lot of arcade machines but it would be cool:
From my memory of nintendo arcade machines:
Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong 3. Mario Bros, Popeye, Radarscope, Arm Wrestling, Punch Out!! And Super Punch Out!!
@@marccaselle8108they had quite a few more in the late 70s to early 80s but it was all Space Invaders bootlegs lmao
Waiting on that Megaman cab review, Fam
Another great review! As its not the arcade rom like the premium, I think the closest thing to this out there is the one you can pick up on the likes of Ali express that plays street fighter 2 but also a total of 150 genesis roms, all quality titles including Mortal Kombat and a bunch of others, but of course that's no official release like this one, so it has that dodgy element and not part of this my arcade set so I guess it's what people want, for me it's gonna have to be all three, the dodgy Ali express one which sits on my desk at work because who cares if it breaks, the premium which sits on my rack of great playable micro arcades at home, and this one which will stay in the box with many other micro arcade console ROM editions, just as a collector piece 😊
I have that Sega Genesis Mini Arcade, it's my favorite out of the units I collect which include Basic Fun & My Arcade machines
Super cool mini borne arcade top😊
Great review. As this is a console version, is there an arcade ROM version in either a handheld or similar style to this device? Thanks!
No, effectively the same software on all three SF2 Pro units. Thanks for watching!
I'll stick with the premium edition since I love the look more. Also despite the floppy joystick, I can pull off fireballs and dragon punches with ease. Great review though! Really looking forward to how this pro joystick handles the pac man games and Galaga/galaxian
Floppy joystick aside I have two of the premium ones....so I could try the two player mode.
I got one it's amazing nice video 👌
Pretty cool Jon, I have the new revised premium edition cab, so I may pass on this one even though I like the new characters. Enjoying the content, you are the reason these are moving off the shelves quickly. I know you aren’t compensated by my arcade, but you should be.
I'm compensated by the viewership of kind people like you!
It may be a few days before this is available at my local Target, Walgreens, or GameStop. It's all about supply and demand.
Already considering it and it's the Megadrive rom so a bit easier.
Looks like everyone is gonna be kung fu fighting again! 🥋
Those kids were fast as lighting Huu Hoo
1-on-1
Hey Jon It’s Jayden how’s it going buddy I just got the my arcade pocket player pro off of Amazon
Another title to add to the micro arcade collection. 😊
This is pretty cool. Capcom should send me one for free considering how many quarters I put into SF II machines
Hey Jon, New Wave Toys is coming out with Berzerk and Frenzy cabinets. I hope you can review one for this channel. Thanks.
Me too! 😀
What were the changes that Capcom made to the Premium edition? Is that something we can apply to older models, or is it the newer versions only?
I don't know that Capcom made any changes for that release.
Now that I have this unit, I'm having the same issue with the fireballs and reverse kicks. I have an easier time doing it coming from the right side of the screen (if your facing the screen). The aesthetics of the box and the unit itself is awesome! The two game offerings with the ability to change difficulty and hyper speed makes it a really solid unit. It's a 3 for me.
Have the same issue. Noticed I can pull off fireballs on one side and not other . Jumping and such too. Been using E-Honda more since no fireballs. But overall a lot of fun. I grew up and still have my two versions of the SNES so to have the Genesis ports now is cool. I'm thinking the pocket pro may pull the moves off better
This whole category was led (and defined) by the Neo Geo Mini, and I've got to say: you're still better off putting the SF2 rom on the Neo Geo Mini (and/or the arcade stick) than buying a product like this. I am still a fan of My Arcade and will keep an eye open for what they do next.
This one is nice if you really want that table top arcade cabinet collectibility factor but for that I’d rather just spend the extra $ and get the existing SF II premium unit then opt for the handheld unit in order to get the SNES/Genesis titles. Still looks like a really solid new unit though.
Awesome stuff. I can't wait for Galaga and Pac Man now.
Great video John. For someone that just wants a fun street fighter mini cade, this seems cool.
The nice part about the genesis version of new challengers is you get the announcer and it's a smidge more accurate than the SNES version.
Basically it has the Sega Genesis six button controller buttons layout.
No doubt the third new Street Fighter II product the Nano player will no doubt also use the Mega Drive/Genesis ROM's in that too, but still it's a nifty device and some might welcome the challenge of playing these versions on a small arcade stick set up? Great job. :)
I'm sure you're right. So far what we're seeing is three models of each title with what seem to be the same internals. Thanks for watching! 😀
@@GenXGrownUp You're very welcome. :) Do keep up the good work and yeah that statement SylveonTrapito said is true, you can NEVER have enough Street Fighter II machines. :D
Why the screen is so small compared with other micro player cabinets? I don´t understand it
Screen is the exact same size as previous Micro Players: 2.75 inches.
@@GenXGrownUp I have the Dig Dug, Elevator Action or Mappy, and are bigger than this. Why are they changing now the screen size? It's too small
I have those as well, and they are 2.75" exactly like this one. You are mistaken if thought this one was smaller.
@@GenXGrownUpOooh! I see, maybe because the frame is bigger and is an optical illusion.
it's really nice, a pity that the version is the mega drive version and not the original arcade version of the cps2 board.
E Honda is so nice giving dhalsim a big hug lol
That's not nice!
@@GenXGrownUplol
@GenXGrownUp So what’s the difference between this Street Fighter 2 and the other Street Fighter 2?
Joystick, buttons, ports vs arcade ROMs, screen, dimensions, art, sync cable... Plenty! 🙂
I would trade all of the console 'features' for an arcade ROM and a COIN BUTTON! for continuous play!
I pre-ordered this unit. I am debating between the Space Invaders Micro or the Pocket.
I'm really intrigued by the SI Pocket.
I say space invaders's micro in HD
@@wesleybutler9034 that's what I'm thinking. I do have the MA Premium Player which is awesome, but the Micro might be slightly better overall for gameplay. Mrs Pacman is also of interest to me because I don't like the D-Pad or Sega rom on the current version so if this Pro unit fixes those two things, I'm in!
Are their any fixes for the control stick? I'm a little reluctant to open it up and experiment.
None that I am aware of.
I must admit I prefer that illuminated coin door/power switch on the front of the cabinet.
Not a deal breaker but still.
Otherwise this looks quite decent.
I miss that a bit, too. I don't miss the NES ports of arcade games, though! 😀
Hay Jon it’s Jayden I really like what you did here
Hi, Jayden. Lots of new arcade products coming out! Are you excited?
if its the real genesis version then you can also increase the speed (max 4 stars) in super sf2 by pressing "right" before pressing start at "game start"
it does look like they modded this rom tho as some options are missing. basically everything that has to do with the 2nd player.
Hey mate . I've lost the lead for it . Any ideas how I go about getting new one? Thanks.
Links in the description.
for some reason all of my micro player pro's came with the old catalog lol
They couldn't have went with the arcade rom? At least go with the SNES rom, now we are stuck with the scratchy audio on the Genesis rom.
Does the sega cheat work on champion edition? Down, right, up, left, y, b, x, a if I remember right?
Oh nevermind its already in, deffo megadrive as it was the only console with special champion I think.
I think you're right - pre-applied. Further Sega evidence!
@@GenXGrownUp SEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any one knows what platform this mini is running on android? Linux? I’m very curious but don’t want to open it up to see but if Ik it was android I’d take the back off so quick
Wonder if you couod mod one of these and put in a slightly larger screen.
I see a lot of comments asking "can you mod this" on various products. The short answer is, "absolutely!" Anything can be modded with the right know-how and investment. I always consider the value proposition: If I spend the time and money to modify this product, is the end result worth it or would I be better off spending that money on a more expensive product that already has the benefits & features I'm looking for?
@@GenXGrownUp valid point
I know that blue and gold are the colors of the Capcom logo, but are they really "the Capcom colors"? The color of Sega's logo is not really the color you'd want for a mini console's plastic, etc.
It's pretty bizarre tht in spite tht it represents an 'arcade', the port is merely from like the SNES version. Shouldn't it be a arcade perfection-port like they did for the Switch?
If it makes you feel any better, GenX, the controls are even worse on the Evercade EXP: it has SF2 (arcade) as a built in ROM, but it's unplayably awful due to the controls. Maybe a footnote that would interest you in the ongoing history of Capcom licensing out 10,000 versions of their ROMs.
I don't get it, they went through all that trouble designing and making their mini arcade cabinet as close to the original arcade cabinet as possible only to in the end used Sega Genesis roms for the games instead? Such a letdown. Putting the actual arcade games on there would had sold me on this product.
In the arcade version of SF2 champion edition, guile was tough 😊
He was tough, especially since his flash kick is an efficient anti-air move.
@@figment1988 or he could get you with a air throw or a air back breaker
This is the Genesis version. 2 player modes were removed.
Yep
So, no two-player connectivity? That's a real shame. If it would have had that, I would buy. Sad
Yeah, seems like that was an experiment with the Premium line that didn't get carried forward.
Are these just the Sega Genesis versions?
Seemingly so. I mention it several times in the video.
Yes it is
WOW Sega genesis doesn't have the best sound in some cases and definitely my arcade system doesn't help either, they should also go for an snes version for that part!
I cant play shotos on this thing. Only charge characters. The joystick isn't precise enough for fighting games
My findings, too.
Wish it was ssf2turbo
Hey I bought this game and I returned it do I get my money-back
👍
Hyperactive fighting, sponsored by spaceballs.
The actual Street Fighter II roms are less than 3.5 megabytes in size. Not much different from the Genesis games. I prefer the look of this mini cab over the premium edition. Not understanding why they need 4 AA batteries, and that's coming from a background in electronics. Tiny display and low resource games. I have six of these, but not this one. I mainly have them on a shelf for cute decor.
Okay. Bro. Like your videos and all, but if you don't try to do any of the combos from Ryu or Ken, then I'm hard pressed to believe these consoles are any good. Perform a combo if you are a real street fighter player.
Maybe you just jumped around, but throughout this review I comment that rotational commands are nearly impossible to pull off with this controller. I found the Pocket Player Pro (reviewed separately) to have more precise controls.
Seem to be exact same as the pro player; different box
This is a Pro Player: the Micro variety.
New Challengers music for Sega was horrible. Capcom should've taken the lazy way out and used the music from Special Champion Edition. At least that version of the music is good and close to the arcade. The only thing they would have to do is work on the other songs. Gameplay wise, it's fine.
👌
Marvel vs capcom 2 please.
That pixel smushing looks horrendous that's a no from me dawg
Thanks for watching, dawg.
@@GenXGrownUp woof
Or it could be the Super Nintendo ROMs, but modified!
I think it's been pretty surely established to be the Genesis versions.
It was a bummer, for me at least, to learn about the sound and music, and that this room is from a console... that made me not go further with purchasing :/
Glad my review helped you to make an informed buying decision. You're welcome. 😁
Why downgrade to SNES of all Street Fighter games...?
Not sure I understand your question. These aren't SNES titles.
@@GenXGrownUp Those ARE SNES titles I can tell in the video, the start up logo explains it all.
OK. I'm no authority on SNES titles, but the general consensus based on which games were published on which consoles is that these are Sega ROMs.
@@GenXGrownUp Genesis SF mini cabinet.
Those are not the Super NES versions, the Super NES version is called Street Fighter II Turbo, not Special Champion Edition. Also the Super NES version doesn't show the part where one guy punching the other guy at a crowd.
Xmen vs street fighter
👌
😅You open the box as if it's the Lost Treasure of Atlantis or something
Correction: the FOUND treasure of Atlantis. 😉
I wonder if anyone has opened it up and found hidden games like pac man
I haven't heard.
Looks like they used art from the anime
With the bezel taking inspiration from the very first Street Fighter
Meh. Maybe it's just my eyes but the screens on these things are tiny.
“Fireballage.” 😆
Did I say that?
These things are getting cheaper looking and more expensive... sad.
Do you think they will put out Dragons layer?
And Lupon the third?
Not at their current price point. Those Laserdisc games aren't demanding, but require quite a bit more horsepower than these little units. New Wave Toys released one, though. There's a review right here on the channel.
its just too small - whilst it looks great at first - they are all too small to really play for years
I see these really as fun for casual play. For a longer play session, my old eyes and big hands aren't having it!
my hands cant keep up with the small buttons - i cant control them@@GenXGrownUp
Should be super sf2 turbo with Akuma smh
🤔
This looks terrible. Screen is awful, its not arcade but genesis rom (and slower), mono audio? ... no thanks.
Genesis roms...🤢
Yep.
My Arcade are AWFUL, overpriced fisherprice gaming devices, the latest 'pro' models are 10 bucks bargain bin at most.
The cabinets in many ways have regressed in areas over the past few years, and they're still using cheap baby screens that belong on Tiger electronics devices. It's a case of two steps forward, one step back design.
What's all this business of still not using Arcade roms and NO high score saves!!! What decade are we in? 1950s? Because Arcade games saved high scores in the 70s!!!
For someone so against this company's product, you do seem to watch a lot of videos about them - and leave nearly identical comments on each.
@@GenXGrownUp Yes, as an arcade fan it's becoming increasingly disappointing to see the likes of My Arcade (who have potential) continually bodge their products, they are not doing the arcade legacy justice.
@@overwatch761 My Arcade satisfies a market demand for near-accuracy at a discount price. There are other, more expensive meanufacturers who cater to those who demand accuracy if you're willing to pay the premium. A great many collectors enjoy these units, so I'd suggest you explore the products more to your liking rather than trolling the ones you have an established distaste for. You'll have more fun.
@@GenXGrownUp I am open with my views - just because it is a niche Arcade market does not mean a device should not be held up to scrutiny, too many gloss over My Arcade products, if these were marketed to a mainstream audience they would be slaughtered by critics - even considering these as budget products and accepting the postage stamp screens and non arcade roms, the lack of basic high save functionality for 50/60 bucks is unacceptable. Yes enjoy them, they do look cool - but letting companies like My Arcade off the hook lightly will only encourage their continued mediocrity.
Wish they wouldnt just halfhazardly toss in stock art all over it makes it looks cheap and ugly
"Halfhazardly" - I don't think that's a word, but it should be! 😀
Does it have a demo attract?
I think so. It's been a while since I did this review.
