Thank you for such a great video dude! I’ve always had issues with stands and combos. I shoot magmod and it’s not as portable as one might think. I have no problem shooting with just the magahpere but the typical lightstand negates the portability of the sphere so this video really does help for my run and gun sessions!
Triangle setup is design of by Peter Hurley, founder of Headshot Crew. And refined by the Crew. It would be nice to mention that where Carlos learn this stuff ;)
I pretty sure Spock invented the triangle light setup. People probably didn't use it a lot before because it gives the worst catchlights possible unless you are going for the star trek look.
@@cba4389 Some people say the same things about ring lights. The catchlights don't really bother me in either one. And lots of people use this headshot setup now.
What are your thoughts about using a brown gel to make a brown background on a white or grey backdrop? It would be interesting to see if you have not already tried this. If so, please make a video of this idea, thanks and amazing work!
Love MagMod! Thank you for the tutorial! What is the bracket you have on your C-stand called for the clam shell setup? I’ve been putting my light on a boom arm but I like this better!
Great advise and lovely results. It would be so helpful if you could share a go to setup for corporate portraits; headshots, half length and full body, with glasses/spectacles. So many people wear them and dont want pics without them. I have been battling for years and my go to for this is a large strip box as high as possible to not appear in the glasses but low enough to light the eyes well. Any other fill light or reflectors also reflect in the glasses. When you have 30 - 100 or more staff to shoot cant spend too much time in post, so I prefer a clean shoot, what would you advise? Note, some glasses are more rounded than others and reflect everything while others are more flat and fine. But all these setup I always see online are for non spectacle shoots. Any ideas.
Nice Tutorial. I'm just south of Tucson so maybe we'll run into each other some time... The question I have is what brand and type of light are the 8200 you refer to? Thanks, Sandy
We will pass on the question to Carlos and see if he can share the info with you when he has a chance to jump over here in the comments. Thanks for watching.
nice tuto. would be nice to have a compact godox adapter for ad100pro and ad300pro. what are the dimensions of the stripbox open window on front ? not easy to find that info. other brand mention for instance 1x3 (30*90cm) and 1x4 (30*120cm).
My entire studio is about 750 sq ft. The shooting space is 10 ft x 20 ft. If I am shooting groups, I shoot each person individually then composite in post.
What did you do to the model's face in post? It is so heavily processed you made her look like bad CGI. Other than that, your lighting is very nice and well thought out.
One of the best headshot demos I have seen in a long time. Thank you, Carlos and MagMod for sharing.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for positive words.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate you.

I did like the set up. Is clean and simple, but give credit to Pete Hurley that he came up with this light set up.
Peter is amazing. I am an associate in the crew :)

Is your grey background paper or cloth? Great Tips
This is a Thunder Grey Seamless from Savage Backdrops
Looks super clean!
Thanks, John. Companies love the clean look. It is very versatile for their marketing.
Thanks
Love it! Thank you guys for sharing! Great presentation Carlos!
We need to do one of these with TNK Photo. Love you guys.

Great question. Did you ever get a decent answer from the @magnetmob community?
Nice Tutorial. I'm just south of Tucson so maybe we'll run into each other some time...

Thanks, Sandy
These are Flashpoint AD200’s
Come by the studio anytime
What bars are you using to hold your backgrounds?

Thanks, curious. How big is your studio? I’m looking to set one up and your shooting the way I envision my own studio.

looks so good!
Thank you
hugely helpful, thank you

I appreciate the CC. I simply clean up blemishes and do a little color blending with frequency separation.
Do the AD200’s fit in the mag mid case?
What lens do you use? Great job.
I always use an 85mm Prime for my headshots. I would try to stay between 70-135 if possible
need to add lighting for eye glasses
That would be a fun video
Yes. Thank you. Im going to use my gray backdrop to create a purple backdrop, not use my white one. Awesome thanks 🙏
"Triangulate your eyebrows." What does that mean?
Awesome video. But the first rectangle softboxes give her the illuminati cat eyes. 😮
