There are a few ignorant remarks made on here. I wish to address just one. To compare a horses weight to what it feels from a crop or whip is out right ignorant. If it can feel a fly on its hair to swat at it, which is an annoyance, and a horse coming in with whip/crop welts on it is wrong and your thinking is flawed. Period! I have 60+ years training and vetting horses. I do know what Im talking about! Get better educated!

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Clearly you don’t deal with horses in your everyday life. People have already stated how wrong you are about the whip, so I’ll skip that. But it’s not just abuse because of the damn whips, it’s also the forcing them down a steep hill. It’s called a “suicide race” because if going down that hill goes wrong, the chances of you literally dying are very high, and even if you survive you will have major injuries. This hurts both horse and rider, if the horse takes a wrong step it could break its legs. It doesn’t have time to focus on going down this steep, dangerous hill because idiots are beating them. They could easily tumble and kill both parties. And also, the fucking bits. They’re being pulled at, and are uncomfortable because the stupid humans on their backs are hurting them constantly and for what? To get a gold medal? What do the horses get? Nothing. Nothing but abuse. This is disgusting, and so are you.
This is amazing I would love to see this in person. I was watching another video about this and they were talking about how this was one of the best things to see in person. That it gave such a rush.

Oh yes! It’s so fun to watch horses slam into eachother and get injured! I love the thrill of watching an innocent horses leg snap in half as it slides down a hill. So fun!

The horse could easily fall over and tumble down that hill, possibly killing both horse and rider. The risk of the horse breaking their legs is also extremely high. Exposing and treating your horse like this is abuse, not good horsemanship. This sport is disgusting.
