My husband is a big history lover and always tells me a history story in bed at night. The way he tells the stories is so funny, and we go back and forth in a cute way, so recently I got the idea to start recording them. There’s more conversations I want to start recording, and it’s really sweet to think that our kids can go back and listen to all of these when we’re gone. What you said isn’t morbid at all - it’s incredibly thoughtful. Edit to add: I have always saved voicemails from people I love and I’m glad I do, because I have voicemails from my aunt, uncle, and grandfather. All three of them passed away over the last 4 years. Every once in a while I like to play them so I can hear them leaving me a loving message, just checking in on me.

Everything my Dad screamed at my Mom was generally unhinged bullshit and he never listened to her side of anything and they definitely weren’t ever laughing.
