Hi Denis...I love your attitude to music and I think that unfortunately in institutions that the faculty believe that they own music somehow and feel that they are the YODA'S of music which in my opinion produces arrogance....this has been my experience. I have been teaching myself Jazz and feel it is more important to find your personality as a musician...be an individual not an academic...all the best musicians are the ones that work hard and have a passion not a degree...thank you for your intelligence
Hey Dennis ! great video as always, makes perfect sense to me dude, love that intro sounding real cool playing them blues like the ideas for future videos interesting...Thanks again
I love practicing and you speak the truth! Your point about playing for non musicians reminds me of a comment by Joe Pass “ if you can’t play something for Joe the barber”, what’s the point? Thanks again!
Love it! Quick question- Do you have any vids on picking technique in relation to pick contact with string/angle/what part of pick to make contact with? Not necessarily on up down type stuff? Or suggestions on how to get better at this? Been playing over 20 years and still catch the pick on the string often! It sucks! Love your vids!:

My teacher tells me to “learn as much as you can, but when it’s time to play, forget everything”
Just have watched your video entitled:”Stop learning improv’: learn licks instead”… 😅😉💯🎯🔥!
"think about politicians" tu m'as tué 😂
Playing as if your life depends on it, will bring the best out of you. It's not even about "jazz" at the point. Just heart and soul.
I don't have a community or friends to practice guitar with but your videos keep me motivated thanks
Great sheet as always
Amazing insight! I appreciate your inspiring and encouraging comments on playing “as if you mean it”. That is a skill in itself.
that benson story sounds awesome. cant even imagine what that felt like! so cool
You are great Dennis
