I've seen it 3 times since it came back in 2019, the 1st time I had tears rolling down my face, they were definitely tears of joy, almost overwhelming. I'm looking forward to my 4th time taking one of my best friend's to see it at Easter. I will never ever get bored of MP :) Great video by the way, re watching the curtain call has given me the shivers. My second time seeing it I was very very lucky to meet Zizzi, Charlie Stemp and the legend that is Putula Clarke after the show as a friend of mine who is a West End pit pianist was covering at Prince Edward's for 2 weeks and gave me a behind the scenes tour. :) I have photo's with all 3 and they signed my program. :)
Thank you for this video. I'm glad you both enjoyed the show. I love Mary Poppins, I do miss some of the grandeur and slightly slower pace of the original production (2004), but still, it remains one of the greatest West-End shows. Also thanks for the curtain call, wonderful to have this memento of this company, including Petula Clark!
Loved this. Mary Poppins is on my ‘to see list’ but I’ve become addicted to Frozen and Cinderella at the minute and have seen both shows twice already. Every time I go, I see thing I didn’t see before and that’s what I love about theatre
I've Seen Disney And Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins The Original West End Hit Musical At London's Prince Edward Theatre In London In England Last Year Back In January 2020 Just Before Covit 19 Pandemic Began And It Was Super Awesome And I've Been Saved The Day. Thanks Mate. X
I've recently been to watch Mary Poppins on stage and it is the most amazing west end show it's right in my favourites with phantom of the opera and 42nd street, it's truly spectacular and if you get the chance you should 100% go see it
Awesome video! I remember seeing the original production - probably 8 months after opening. The doll sequence had a different song (Temper, Temper) at that point. The nursery was also in the rood of the house and literally flew in. During the number, the walls of the nursery grew taller (I'd imagine the flats had a type of lycra at the bottom) and the whole ensemble appeared as dolls. Amazing. REALLY hope I get to see this version.
Can u advise what seat numbers u had. I've looked on the webiste but im unsure which ones u had, thanks. Also im sorry but i had to laugh when u said the Bird Lady was someone called Petula Clark. She is a British legend on and off stage, look her up, i'm sure u would be interested in all that she has done x
Oh Em Gee, Sam! You must search and watch documentaries about Petula Clark! She's a huge pop star from the 1960s! You're parents may have heard her music. She's from the era of Twiggy and Shirley Bassey! BTW, Twiggy did an M&S holiday advert in more recent years, as did Dame Bassey with a wonderful cover of Get This Party Started!
I am glad you enjoyed seeing Disney & Cameron Mackintosh's production of Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre in London's West End, I saw it with Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp on Saturday 14th December 2019 in a matinee afternoon performance, it was brilliant and they were both amazing, I sat in the Dress Circle as well and have got the programme, souvenir brochure, Original 2004 London Cast Recording, Australian 2011 Live Cast Recording and the Definitive 2019 Live London Cast Recording CDs
Wow! What a show Sam :) Gosh that finale & introductions felt so electric. I guess I've been away from a theatre for far too long . Nothing is more special than live theatre, its so inspiring! Thrilled that you both enjoyed it so much, such a wonderful theatre too, great atmosphere. x
Yah, you're too young to know or remember Petula Clark. Google her. You may recall some of her hit songs like "Downtown". I think you would like that song a lot. She's 88 years old now. Happy to hear she's still alive!
Really enjoyed watching this,I haven't been to see anything as grand as this in my life , but I do remember going to see Peter Pan as a child at the Sheffield crucible,I can remember being fascinated XX also I love your painting in the background in your home I wondered if you have done them yourself? X they are lovely x
Oh wow seeing Peter Pan live as a child sounds magical! I’d love to see a show at the Sheffield Crucible one day! Ahh thanks so much about the paintings. They’re actually mostly painted by my mum, who is an artist ☺️
OMG....Petula Clark is a legend. Check out her song 'Downtown' Apparently the Mary Poppins books are much darker than the film. I must try to read them too.
@@Sam4G0d Sorry, saw it last month & was disappointed. Can't fault the energy, singing, dancing, special effects but the new sings are instantly forgettable. The songs in the original film were so much better. I agree it's closer to the books but it was just like a load of songs paraded one after the other with a very weak plotline. So disappointed. Hoping My Fair Lady this month isn't such a let down as this.
its funny because in Japan, coco curry is like a fast food chain like mcdonalds almost. there all over and usually salarymen go there for lunch or dinner for fast meal. but in london it looks all fancy :P
That's so interesting to read! It's my dream to visit Japan (had a trip booked in 2020 which obviously got cancelled), but it's still somewhere I hope to visit as soon as I can :)
What is the cheapest time to go to Disneyland Paris? Because we're going to Germany and because we're Disney fans we want to go to Disneyland Paris. I just resanly became a subscriber and I love your channel and going to Disneyland Paris for the first time I like seeing Disneyland Paris and knowing what you like to do there very helpful.
Does anyone know how much it is for a umbrella? And anyway I can get my hands on one? I am after Getting one for my mums 60th birthday present In November and will be unable to get up to london before then! Any suggestions would be a massive help!
I think before the lockdown it was 40 pounds for the adult size and 25 pounds for the youth size. I don't know if prices have gone up since. For some strange reasons they don't sell merchandise online. I wish they did!
The doll scene was taken from the sequel books, but its jane who gets punished for wrecking her doll house or something, but she is kidnapped by the drills and put on trial and Marry Poppins comes and saves her. When it first opened in London and NYC, it had a song called Temper, Temper, which I loved, then a motherr complained and Cameron took the song out, and replaced it with playing the game. I'm sorry but the movie had some weird scary bits in it, and the books are much darker. parents are much to sensitive these days I swear.
I have been lucky enough to see Mary Poppins in London twice and am looking to see it again. It’s fantastic. Glad you and your friend enjoyed it and what fabulous seats you had.
I don’t think Mary Poppins is supposed to come off as “warm.” In fact, I think from watching the move, Saving Mr. Banks, that’s one of P.L. Travers’ major issues with Julie Andrews’ portrayal of the character. She absolutely despised what Walt Disney did with her story and characters.
Awwe... 🥰 You’re just lovely and I love these Vlogs 🙏🏻💞🙏🏻💞 Thanks so much for the shout-out xox After 4 years or so of watching your videos it was quite surreal but so cool to suddenly bump into you - especially after a day of doctor‘s appointments and bad news (it really cheered me up 💕) xox
Great review……saw it again yesterday, before it closes on 8th January 2023…..they say it’s magical……it is!! Seeing is believing!!

Ahh thanks so much for watching. I would have loved to have seen the 2004 production!
I’m watching it at the theatre this weekend I’m so excited to see it in person
Btw, the song with the dolls is called playing the game.

That’s indeed one of the best things about live theatre - no two performances are ever the same. I can’t wait to see Frozen again! 🎉
We’ll announce
@@Sam4G0d hello
What great finale’. If the show is like that then it really is the tops. Great to be back after lockdown.
So much energy and talent! X

I saw this show 2 years ago and it is a joy, Charlie Stemp is incredible
He's amazing!

Its coming to Sydney Lyric Theatre - is it the same like the other showings or sessions? Or is it just the same? Were there changes
Does she still fly over the audience, at the end? When I saw it, in Toronto, she flew, and landed on the upper balcony, right beside my seat.
Ahh that’s so cool! Yes, she does still fly over the audience at the end :) Very magical x
My favourite song is step in time 😁
Such a fun one!
Seats look amazing and that section is available for my date in January. Can you tell me the seat numbers 😊
Thank you so much Sam! ☺️ 🙏🏻 🎭 ☂️
🥰🥰🥰
Wow that’s awesome
I've cried watching that finale!! amazing!!!!
Thank you for sharing!! I deff need to visit the West End the next time I visit the UK!
So amazing isn’t it! I already want to go back, the talent on that stage was 👌🏼
It'll be good if I can see Charlie and Zizi play as Bert and Mary Poppins if I have the chance.
I've never seen any marry poppins before, is it any good?
I loved it!
