In my opinion, Gobots have always been under-appreciated.
There's no such thing as an F-16 Eagle, this is an F-16 Falcon, and quite an accurate representation of one
I've had a small GoBots collection for some time now like: Leader-1, & Cy-Kill, both with power suits.
Actually it was Gobots that got me started in Transformers since the show was cancelled after Transformers. Now I'm glad I kept my Gobots figures.
The one plus I"ll give go-bots is the usual nice-looking vehicle mode with everything folded away. They usually tended to hide the fact they could transform better than transformers.
That's an F-16 fighting falcon. I should know i worked o one earlier this week
there should be a TJOmega transformer
That would be a really cool gift for christmas
Gobots: for Diecast that works.
Gobots FTW!
tj why must some gobots look cool yet others look like they should burn in the sun.
F-16 Falcon, TJ.
I like heat seeker. Good character in the tv series and nice figure, too.
Was watching this playlist and video #26 the "Beast Hunters Legion Airachnid" seems to have been blocked in totality by RUclips for some reason.
I'd like to see Hasbro take a crack at a modern version of this guy with a similar folding thing to hide everything away.
HAHA! He was always my favorite GOBOT just because of his transformation. He was really pushing the GOBOT blandness standard! Thanks for reviewing him, dude :)
I got that one, one of my ave gobots his leg stickers were starting to peal on the edges a little I think when I last seen him.
Great review
I disagree on playability with the gobots.
Maybe it's just me but..
The Lack of accessories was often for children a good thing since it was less pieces to lose. If you had your toy and it was in one piece, you had everything you needed to "play" what you saw in the show. Lack of posability definitely doesn't affect play value. I LOVED my gobots (and g1 toys) all of which lacked posability. I HATED my marvel spiderman with 18 points of articulation (or something like that) because it was too floppy to play with. Star Wars toys and GI Joe Toys (although a little more articulation in GI Joe) were totally playable without figuarts levels of articulation.
I love articulation as an adult who wants to display things on a shelf, but thinking back 30 years.. posing my figures was nowhere close to defining playability for me. I'm betting that was the case for most children, but certainly can't speak for everyone.
That said, great work on Toycember 2!
Spot on. When i was a kid i rarely have toys with more than very basic articulation but still i enjoyed them very much. I usually just woosh them around and All poses and actions play in my head. Everything can be a toy for me back then. Whatever it lacks, my mind fills up. Thats why kids can be happy even with the simplest of things.
God! I remember that Gobots came out a little bit before the Transfomers did. It wasn't till the latter had a comic book released till the toys had followed then the cartoon then the Gobots cartoon was soon to follow. I think i was about 11 at the time so it's sort of hazy. The Transformers definately overtook them. My main interest for the transformers was that they had weapons. Wish i still would have kept them but for as much as i played with them along side my G.I. Joe's (Hey it was the 80's. Give me some cred!), they probably wouldn't be worth a damn. but that's what separates the collectors from the kids.
The F-16 is a Falcon, not an Eagle. It looks just like a Falcon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Dynamics_F-16_Fighting_Falcon
RetroRobotRadio yeah I was just going to mention that the F-15 was called Eagle
I think I used to have this specific gobot and I lost it somewhere because this looks very familiar to me
It's an F-16 Fighting Falcon, not an Eagle you're confusing your Seekers with Heat Seeker (the Seekers of course being F-15 Eagles).
I don`t remember this gobot...I realy remember only 6 or 7 of them..
My little brother found this toy laying randomly outside on the ground in really poor condition
OH GOD....Next is a Rock Lord isn't it?
Ha! Called it!
Am I the only one that thinks Prime Starscream looks kind of like him in jet mode ?
Dude seriously, "enemy lines"? Who cares about Go-bots anymore?
Also, there's simply no way that the Go-bots cartoon or toyline were ripping off Transformers, given the distance between their shows was about two or three months at best and it's literally impossible for them to have planned it to rip off Transformers cartoon. Plus the Go-bots toyline came out before Hasbro stole all their figures from other companies and collected them under the brand name "Transformers"
- mild rant over -
Licensing figures from several lines of one company (Takara) somehow constitutes "st[ealing] all their figures from other companies?" Mmmkay.
It's not stealing at all, Takara and the other company's got paid very well for the toy molds. Fact is the Transformers marketing scheme worked so well it was sold back to Takara which they excepted with open arms and the two companies now couldn't be any more successful. Also Gobots were also Licensed products.
Joe Geary also the enemy lines think was a joke.
PrimalTheEmperor (primal9000) To be fair, the G1 Transformers cartoon was god-awful too. I really don't get why people hate the Go-Bots cartoon so much and love the original Transformers one, when they're both about as terrible as each other.
(Granted, the Transformers toys were better, but the cartoons were both awful)
TRAITOR! everybody betrayed me im fed up with this world (just kidding you are still awesome and this guy like alot of the other Go-bots actualy are not half bad still a TF fan but still not bad)
Hmm.... Plastic Addict Gobot?
gobots?????????
Heat seeker is a female
You may be thinking of Pathfinder, a female ufo guardian, Heatseeker in the cartoon is a male
