many times the cat# differs from country to country. But not always. You just have to compare the labels (and dead wax etchings) closely and look for clues
I have a question, and what if you do not have any barcode or reference of the vinyl. Only a photo of the cover in different character letters. How can we dig it ... There is any a.i. app ?
Nothing pre-1980 will have a bar code or UPC. And unfortunately the album cover isn’t much help. You need to compare the disc labels and/or the etchings in the dead wax (the inner circle outside the label
Not as easy as that. Every album/pressing/cycle differs. Some "first pressings" stay in stock and avail for months or years. Others sell out fast and a subsequent pressing is needed based on demand. Many popular albums gets 2-3 pressings in the year they are released.
Still does not explain how to identify which pressing. That seems to be the big mystery. Could be 2 or 3 pressings. Even the vinyl inscriptions are too cryptic.
ok but how do i even get to that search thing??? i think i managed to do it on pc
Main issue I have is determining what country the press was in. A lot of mine do not have the country on the disc. Any suggestions?

Is it absolutely necessary that the dead wax numbers match ?
If you're trying to match an exact pressing on Discogs, then yes.

Looking at the label doesnt seem to be as exact as typing in the run out numbers
It really depends on the album, but using the label and dead wax will definitely point you in the right direction
How can you tell on discogs when a 2nd press begins?
