The latest in the Kouri Richins case, the prosecution submitted evidences to be request to be let in for the preliminary hearing. The main thing they need exception for is hearsay. We'll see what the defense and the court says about that in their response.

Mormons and Murder. (I’m 60 yo. Born and bred Utah Mormon.) As a FoMo (former mormon) I find these cases fascinating. Just recently, Kouri, Ruby Franke, Jodi Hildebrandt, Chad & Lori (and their entire crue), Shanna Gardner, James Craig, Tim Ballard, the list goes on and on. That is just off the top of my head current cases. Netflix’s “Under the Banner of Heaven” is another interesting look at the products of this culty religion. Oh and let’s not overlook the Adam recent reminder of Adam Paul Steeds boyscout case. Phew! Glad I got out😮

Ah it’s a busy week for the courts.
I did my grad thesis on the bereavement of children and the use of books to open up healing for kids. The fact that she wrote a book for kids about death and she unalived someone is sickening and ridiculous.

I don’t get how they are still trying to say the THC gummies had to be laced with fent when they did not find THC in his system? From the docs I read, they only found the fent and Seroquel (which Kouri had a prescription for). So how can the fent be in the gummies if he didn’t have any?

Before Kouri met Eric, she was a cashier at Home Depot. She saw opportunity. She tried to become successful ‘using’ Eric, but she didn’t have the experience to succeed. With massive debt hanging on her shoulders and a love interest on the side, Kouri decided that Eric was more valuable to her dead than alive. But…she’s just as inept at murder as she is at business. I’m guessing she is going to receive 60 years in prison.
I wonder why he didn't tell her he changed his death beneficiaries. I'm not at all victim blaming-- nothing he did invited or caused this.

I will NEVER believe 48 HRS AGAIN. They made Kouri out to be a Saint. Even her attorney was in the episode saying Kouri’s marriage was at the best point it’s ever been. How on earth would her attorney have that knowledge. I STOPPED watching 48 HRS after that episode and I’m telling everyone I know. It was all about making that murderer Kouri seem innocent. Awful Show.
I am a 60 year old woman who was born into and raised in the cult formerly known as the Mormon Church. These cases fascinate me. Is it a coincidence that off the top of my head I can list so many recent cases with Mormon/Utah connections?
Kouri Richins, Ruby Franke, Jodi Hildebrandt, James Craig, Lori Vallow, Chad Daybell, Tim Ballard,
Jody Arias, not to mention the old case about the Laffertys, recently featured on Netflix’s “Under the Banner of Heaven” and the recent attention given to Adam Paul Steed, SA survivor from church leaders at Boy Scouts of America as well as victim of Jodi Hildebrandt. There’s no shortage of crazy. I’m glad I got out after 50 years.
These insane delusions about children being posessed by demons and needing punishment espoused by Jodi Hildebrandt, Lori Vallow and their ilk are very obviously not taught, espoused, endorsed or accepted by the Mormon LDS church or *any* other church that I am aware of.
It however seems to be a pattern that some of these psychopaths claiming Mormon faith go on to use that status as some kind of cloak and means of justification, even if the mainstream church doctorine is nothing like what they practice.
I'm not a mormon myself but I have neighbors and friends that are and they are some of the most kind, compassionate and level-headed people I've come across. Nothing I've ever heard from discussions about religion with them has given me reason to call them part of a cult, let alone suspect them of having these kinds of twisted beliefs in regards to punishing children. So I'm baffled at the concept of these abusers and murderers thinking that their twisted justifications for abuse and murder are somehow derived from what the mormon church teaches.
I don't know about your particular situation in any more detail than you provided, but I'm glad that you are feeling more safe now.
All organized religions are the same, some just hide it better.

How many more terrible cases will be coming out of Utah!!! Again, the children, in this case, are the most affected, which is so sad. They lost their Father and now their Mother is being held for his death; and they may lose their Mother to incarceration, depending on the trial verdict Those children will need a lot of therapy and family love.
