I think it is great that the room was filled with younger music lovers and everyone seemed to be enjoying the cool gear as much as the music and display. BONUS...Herb sighting! Thanks for posting this, Ken.
Great video, Ken! I experienced the HiFi Listening Room Dream No. 1 in the Lisson Gallery on Bell Street in London a few weeks ago. Your viewers should really get themselves to the Soho installation and enjoy. Point and counter point of enveloping sound and stunning brutalist design.
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 That's just my opinion, of course. Brutalist in scale, aesthetics, detail and lack of ornamentation. Regardless, it's a fascinating discussion to be having about HiFi and listening to recorded music in 2023. Perhaps, Devon will let us know?
Quite the venue, the rent has to be astronomical. But glad to see he’s keeping 2 channel stereo alive and “advancing the art” (actually he’s bringing back tried and true technology like horns, high efficiency speakers, triode amps, etc….). Well done young man
Coolest audio space/artistic space I have seen. Now all I need is the address, jump on the train and check it out. I missed out on the his Blue Note listening session. This time around, that’s not happening. Love his work and his approach to music reproduction.
Your first video on Devon’s work has me hooked. Read about him and his work in GQ. Wish I was in New York to experience the room. Thanks for this, Ken.
Thanks for the comment. This is not my first video on Devon though. If you scroll way back, I interviewed him for two or three separate videos at his home in Brooklyn.
Love it. Hope it’s open to the public by mid October. Will be in NYC for 3 days, a trip to OJAS and picking some of “vinyls” from the Jazz Record Center would certainly make for a great trip.
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Good to know, will message him. On another note, does the Jazz Audiophile ever cover the Jazz Record Center on weekends?
Thanks Ken.. I’d love to hear that replinthed Technics with the Solane arm… And those MHM Altec/GPA “757A inspired Monitors” with JBL 077 super tweeters..
Well hell, I was going to fly up to NY and check this out, but I've seen it all now. Where's the "Spoiler Alert" Ken? (If it's not abundantly clear......I am joking. 👽✌)
It's always good to see Herb out in the wild 🙂
On transcend to sound galore...🙏⏳👍🐺👏🌺

Fabulous 🤩. I love that this niche of high end audio and Devon in particular gets all the attention. Love it

It falls within the brutalist camp? I thought it was more industrial or perhaps that’s the same thing

I have no idea. But that’s a good question!

Can't imagine anything more beautiful than this 😍

Wasn’t aware of this…need to take a walk to SOHO (I believe on Greene St). Thanks, Ken

I think Devon’s place is by appointment only. Call in advance.

I am a little confused. He has an exhibit opening Sept.18. This is different?
Yes. This is a permanent spot.
Nice video Ken. Would love to get up there and see this place sometime. What music is playing during the video ?
Epidemic sound
Awesomeness.
Very cool! 😎😎
Peak hipster but i love it.
Call it whatever, but it sounds amazing which is the point not the fashion
