  • Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
Part 2 is here... • Video
    To make this pendant you will need ;
    • 1.5mm wire (14g) 1 x 4.5" (11.5cm)
    • 1.5mm Half Round wire (14g) 1 x 2.5" (6.5cm)
    • 0.8mm wire (20g), 2 x 9" (23cm)
    • 0.315mm weaving wire (28g) 200cm (I wind mine onto a bobbin, but you can cut lengths as you go if you prefer)
    • Teardrop cabochon, mine is 15mm by 10mm (you can use a similar size, just remember to adjust wire length and weave repeats accordingly)
    • Jump ring, 8mm outside measurement (or whatever size you have handy)
I no longer put links to tools on here.
    The tools I use are:
    • Tronex needle nose pliers
    • Tronex short round nose pliers
    • Tronex razor flush cutters
    • Beadsmith flat nose nylon jaw pliers
    • Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
    • Occasionally I use heavy-duty wire cutters
    • Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
    • Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)

Thank you. Make sure it's uncoated, I find the coated wire is hard to work with. Try and get soft or dead soft. I buy from Rio Grande, metalclays4u and scientific wires uk 😊💕

You never cease to amaze! Your designs are drop dead G😍RGEOUS! I keep practicing but mine come out looking like a hot mess!
I'm having an issue with my copper wire & was wondering if you could point me in the right direction...my apologies in advance 🙏🏼..& promise not to make this a habit! I originally ordered half hard wire (16g & 24g)..it was way too hard to manipulate..so I ordered all (16g, 20g, 24g) dead soft..it's a lot better, however, either my 20g (& sometimes 16g) wire is not firm enough or my weaving wire is too stiff/thick (24g) to use. I'm not sure if I should just order 28g/26g weaving wire..or if it's the dead soft wire that is giving me problems. Hopefully that makes sense..🤞🏻. (I'm also considering adding half round but it looks thicker on screen so I'll need to look into what gauge for that as well). I'm sure you have a busy schedule & I understand if it's too much to ask..I would be 4ever grateful..so would my sore hands & bleeding fingers..🤗...Tia!

Thanks for your lovely comment 😊💕 I always use dead soft, mostly 20g and 28g. If your in America I recommend Rio Grande, I'm in the UK so I buy from metalclays4u and scientific wires uk. I never use half hard, always soft. And I find the thicker weaving wires are a nightmare to work with, the 28g is fine enought to weave nice and tidy and doesn't break (too often), the thicker weaving wire is a struggle. The base wires, I use 20g soft, I find that works for everything I make. If my piece is quite big then I use more wires to add strength (instead of changing the hardness). Hope this helps 💕

Oh and I don't use coated wire, that is very tough on your fingers too (and I find the coating mostly comes off over time) ❤️

Hi Kelly first of all I love everything thing you make ...in this video ...can I ask what type of wire you are using please ...is it sterling silver wire ..or sterling silver coating wire ...where is the best place to buy it from if you don't mind disclosing the website lovi please ..thank you x

Hii, thanks so much. I'm using sterling base wires and fine silver weaving wire. I'm in the UK, so I buy silver from cooksongold, they're not brilliant, the wire will need a clean but they're the cheapest and it's nice and soft 👍 I can't find it anywhere else that soft.
