OK - Here are some ideas for you: 1) Flat Tires - I added Slime Strips between the tire & tube and reduced my flats by over 50%!!! 2) Tents - In the US, there is a company called TarpTent. Their tents are super light weight. They will allow you to have a larger tent at lower weight than your current tent. 3) Stoves - I used air adjustable Alcohol stoves. They are very light and alcohol is widely available. In the US, we have a product called HEET Dry Gas, that you put in the cars gas tank to remove water. It is mainly Alcohol and available at gas stations... For what you are cooking, you would use ~30ml per day... 4) Water Removal - I use a automotive sheepskin chamois to wipe down wet tents/bike seat/wet clothes to remove water. Chamois soak up 10x their weight in water!!! When they get dirty, wash them is normal soap... 5) Water bag verses Water Bottles - I carried a 1.5 gallon/~6L water bag with a Camelback valve for bike hydration and it also had a sprinkling head for showers. I would warm the water for showers... 6) Power Generating Hubs - There are front wheel hubs that generate power when coasting down hills/coming to a stop. You push the button and they generate power. You might generate more power than your solar panel... Enjoy!!! - Bob
Thanks for your comment! I already checked out the tarp tents but I didn't choose another tent yet. And about the tires.... yeees, I should definitely try your slime hack!
I’m all for the alcohol fuel and stoves!!
She has a 69€ tent, do you think big $ tents are her thing? XD
I use Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. My experience, after almost 100.000 km, is that with these tires, you get about one flat tire for every 10 to 20.000 kms you ride... that's extremely good performance in my humble opinion.
Bath bag is toiletries bag 😊 Stay safe .
Have been following your adventures for a few months. Really enjoy the fresh & rawness of your videos. I hope you will keep traveling and posting! Cheers and safe travels.
Thank you:) I will surely continue for now :)
“Could you hold my bike for a second?” 🐕 🧡
:D
I am impressed by how compact your setup is when you have been on the road for so long.
Tbh I had much more at the beginning but I git rid of every single thing which didn't have a major value to my travels. That's why my set up is so compact now:)
@@giantcheerio Good job! I have really tried to minimize stuff on my trips, but still a lot more stuff than you. I need to rethink.
Everything is so small and you are so big !!! Have FUN, stay safe, and thank you !!!
Love to see more about your bike and setup. Thanks as always for the great videos!!
Thank you for sharing the items you carry with you on the Journey Of Giant Cheerio! I'm a new bike packer so I'm still learning! ✌️❤️🙏
Thank you for sharing! 😊❤
Loving your videos. You are hilarious, funny, fun and seem so genuinely free! Keep pedaling and being well and in the moment!
I binge watched 4 vids!! Cheers Cheerio!
Krass, wirklich alles was man braucht. Mega!
Thank you so very much /viele danken/ to you for showing and describing all your set-up equipment/gear you are using! So valuable to learn from your choices! I wish you safe trips and please take very good care of you always! Best regards and greetings from Sweden!
I think you have one of the most beautiful and relaxed attitude towards bike touring. Its refreshing to hear and watch. I wish you fun and safe travels. Thank you. .. PS I hope you get some sponsorship!! You deserve it. 💚
Thanks for these words!
Great ideas. Great stories. Great footage. Great experiences. I learned a lot. Just one idea; you are using a synthetic sleeping bag. A down sleeping bag, also available from Deuter, will be approx half the weight for the same temperature limits.
Simple, minimal, organized, love it 👌
Thanks:))((
Beautiful video. Thank you for showing your equipment. Everything you need for an adventure 🙂
Thank you :))
absolutely love your videos!! and your essentialism way of living🧘🏻♀️ love cycling and I love adventures but you're on a whole different level🤩I salute you!!
Thank you😊😊😊
Great video with lots of good ideas. I find that a double kickstand (in a V shape) works well for standing the bike up. This kind of stand can take loads of weight and the bike never falls over. Also, I find bin liners are great for storing dirty clothes etc
Thank you for the information. I am new and this is helpful.
An impressive gear list - you've definitely pared it down, finding exactly what you need. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures! It's fun to see the DaVinci Resolve titles, too - I knew immediately what software you were using.
Strapping the cook kit directly to the fork was brilliant - I'm going to have to try that, too!
Ha! Funny that you noticed that I'm using da vinci just by seeing the titles! My set up has changed completely and I guess I need to do another set up video soonish!
Hi dear Giant Cheerio. I'm asking myself: how do you wash your clothes? And who keeps an eye on your bags, when you go away from your bike (groceries, seeing something...)? Thank you for your help and your videos are really inspiring! Elena
Hey Elena! I handwash my clothes whenever I can. As I don't have that much stuff it's pretty easy to keep my clothes clean. Sometimes I also use laundries along the way.
When going grocery shopping I lock my bike outside. But besides the grocery shopping I never leave the bike unattended
Thank you for your description setup, but I'm pleasure if you showing and describing us your model bike.
Totally get the Sea to Summit X series stuff! I’ve got the X-pot, X-bowl, X-mug, and the X-storage cup (that one has a screw on lid) which I use for wild berries along the way. Also JetBoil makes the Stash system that’s super small and does everything you need. Use them all together and you can make a multi course meal in the middle of nowhere. Keep it up, and as always, Ride Hard & Ride Safe.
I just got the x pot and seal&go Box. It saves so much space! I'm in love!
I think that’s you who sing this song in the beginning from the video 😉😁 Nice song nice voice nice journey nice video ✌️
Honestly You are naturally freakin' hilarious, i love that kickstand shit : )
Sleeping pad and solar charge are in promotion right now :)
Tent is really a bit too small. There’s decent 100€ 2P trekking tents on decathlon. I prefer hammock camping - if there aren’t trees around I can set up the bug net and tarp according to my needs. More fiddly, but much more versatile. Decathlon insulated pad is wonderful too.
Cookset isn’t awful, but wider pots are more versatile, boil faster and use less fuel. I like the Trangia stuff, and I don’t even take half of it sometimes.
Great video.... I recommend one thing.... Aliexpress mini fold up stool... 😎👍
Thank you so much for your superb videos, lots of good advice, very inspirational! 😍👍 You've got yourself a new subscriber! Will see them all! Stay safe out there and keep doing what you're doing! Greets from a fellow cyclist in Sweden 🇸🇪
:))
Again what learned :-) Danke für dein Video! Grüße
Thank you for advice on bigger tent idea. I ussually have a hard time deciding between both
Another ace video 👍 love following your journey! I am a keen cyclist and would love to do a bikepacking trip ❤️
Thank youuuuu:)
Love ya. Keep rolling.
🍀🍀🍀
Hi 👋,
Thanks for the video.
Just wanted to say something about your stove, you can buy a small adapter for it, in order to use it with different types of gas bottles and different standards of the thread.
Just type " camping stove adapter " and you will find, you will save some space in your equipment.
It doesn't matter how expensive or cheap your equipment, the best equipment is that you have at the moment with you.
Good rides 👍
Thank you:) I know they exist i just didn't find them in shops but ill get one as soon as I have an adress for a couple of days:) saves space! Cheerio!
Hi there. Just discovered your channel :) I myself use the Naturehike Cloud UP 2 when I'm out cycling. Very pleased with it. It is a tent for two people, but I feel it is more suitable for one person. Room for all bags inside the tent :)
And a big hug to you
GC,PLEASE get back on the road,I miss your sense of humor,I laugh so hard you tell it like it is!!,The good, bad,& ugly of cycle touring!❤👋👋👌
I'll get back on the road soonish! Fingers crossed!
Oh , and tyre levers .
It’s amazing what you are doing 😄 I would never be brave enough to do what your doing alone . Can I ask where you got your toilet bag from 🤔 love it xx
Thanks! Sometimes I also need some days off the road. Can be quite exhausting:D my toilet bag is hand made. A friend of mine made it :)
Nice video, fresh and natural.
Which are the little bag.mounts you have on the front wheel horquilla? I do not know the english name, sorry. Greetings from Bilbao
Cheerio, what bike chain is it that I see there? And how's it working for you? It doesn't seem to be the most secure one
Thank you for sharing. You can save some space by inserting zip ties into handlebar (inside) :-). 02:40 what exactly ground sheet do you use? Thank you in advance.
Great video. Get some spare shifter and brake cables.
hello!
I'm curious on how did you strap your pot to the bike fork.
How do you get that belt to stay in place?
I used some velcro tape and taped the bot to the fork as well as the belt :)
Very cool to see that it takes little equipment, but what is really you needed. As for making your food, do you do something more specific or do you adapt with what you find along the way? Bye Bye Cheerio, até logo 🌍⛺🚲
Hola! There is one routine of the day and that's my porridge in the morning! So I have that, for lunch mostly snacks and bread and for dinner I just heat up some beans. And of course many snacks in between ( cereal bars, sweets). :)
@@giantcheerio Besides the way, for me the best part of cycling is eating, lunching... 😋🍎☕🍪🥧🍽🥪😋⛺🚲
Hello how much did your bike cost and how much have you spend on the bike totally.?
👏👏👏
:)
Hi Lara;.. Hope you are having fun somewhere on your bike. Wanted to ask you; what cameras, drone and laptop do you use? Thanks Enjoy
Bonjour! Would love to know how you use your solar panel throughout the day to keep things charged? Do you place it on the bike or?
I use the panel while having a break. I tried to mount it to the bike so I could charge while cycling but that didn't work. The panel always fell off🌝
@@giantcheerio Thank you for the info :)
gute frage was heißt reifenheber auf englisch?
Google sagt "tire lever", hoffe mein Hirn speichert das jetzt:D
Thanks for video. Is your bag 20L or 25L?
They were 20 L :)
Great video! Do you also carry food? What about your video equipment? Do you have batteries and charger?
At the time when I created the video I just squeezed all my food on top of the bags& I also just had my phone to record stuff. These days, my set up is totally different and there is a lot more electronics to carry😅
Hi, love your videos!, I think I've seen them al by now. I was wondering: what tent are you using? It look really efficient, I'm assuming you still like it 🙂
Hey there! Up to know I am using a naturehike one (wo)man tent. But when I continue traveling I'd like to go for a freestanding tent cause sometimes I was having a real hard time finding a good spot to set up the tent!
@@giantcheerio Thanks for answering!, I really appreciate it. Ah, good point you mention, freestanding would be easier on hard / mixed grounds you mean. I'll keep that in mind, thanks again
enjoyed wondering what model of giant bike you are using carbon or aluminum
For now I am cycling with a carbon frame. It's awesome but I wouldn't recommend carbon when carrying a lot of weight
@@giantcheerio would you say that what you show here is a lot of weight? because it seems like not really
Hey nice video.
What gear set up are you running (crank and cassette sizes)? How do you find it when carrying all the weight?
Its a shimano 105 gear set :)
And in this video I do have my "old" setup. Climbing up hill was kind of hard having all the luggage on the back wheel. Changed my set up completely and weight distribution is helping a loooot
Hey, you forgot to talk about your bike, what model is it? I like your gear and the dyi's! Definitely get Sea to Summit! Ciao!
Hey there! My bike is a Giant fastroad comax :) aaand I got the sea to summit:) it's so handy!
@@giantcheerio Ahh, very cool! Thank for the bike info. Stay cool and safe.
Mich würde interessieren, was du währen deiner Reise für Kleidung mitgenommen bzw. getragen hast.
What tires do you use?
At that time u used no name tires. Now I am using schwalbe:)
How many kg is your bike and gear? Love your videos!
I really don't know the weight of the bike and the luggage. Can't even guess, but would be very interesting to know!
Thanks;)
Can I ask what video editing softwear you use? I love the videos
I am using da vinci resolve:)
@@giantcheerio Thanks Cheerio
Sister put the Vedio about your bicycle? Size, speed, price, tyre quality and etc......
so few clothes for such a long journey. how often do you wash your clothes and where?
Most of the time I wash them anywhere where I have access to water. I let them soak in water &then I use soap and hang them on my clothesline
What do you use to record your videos? A phone, a gopro...
I use my phone. But I wouldn't recommend filming with just a phone. Thinking about getting a go pro as I already smashed my phone twice while recording :F
What kind of bike is it???
That’s a giant comax
are you from Holland?
Originally I am from germany:)
Sehr minimalistisch.
No food?
I just squeezed my food in one of the panier bags on top
How many kg is your luggage? You have a los of things.
Bike + Gear was ~35 Kilo at that time
@@giantcheerio amazing power un your legs. 💪🏼💪🏼
Hello i feel i want to Bay you a coffee.
not so much clothes O.o
No, I don't need that much. But I didn't show all my clothes :)
@@giantcheerio how do you clean them? In laundry?
