1. dense sea shaped flat brush - packing on colour 2. fluffy blending brush - for blending or for transition shade above crease 3. pencil brush (dense kinda pointy brush) - detail work (lower lash line or teardrop area) 4. small angled brush - use to press product into lashes / waterline 5. sea shaped flat brush with shorter and more densely packed bristles - for right under the brows to sweep eyeshadow off if you blended it too high up
I've made it 33 years without wearing eyeshadow, but I saw a pallette I couldn't resist, so now I need to learn to use it! I tried winging it, but it was a disaster. 😂 It is very helpful to know the purposes of all these brushes! Thank you!
I was in search of a simple, straight to the point video about makeup brushes for beginners and your's was the best! You went over the details of each brush in a very easy and understandable way that didn't overload my brain with information or confuse me. Thank you so much! I am totally subscribing to your channel :)
I love that this truly IS a beginner tutorial. While I appreciate that there are videos that provide a comprehensive list of eye brushes, I find that, as a beginner, it can be overwhelming and costly should I try to incorporate all of those brushes into my makeup regimen. This video gets right to the point, and I find the recommendations are both realistic and potentially cost-effective. That is, rather than buying a lot of brushes I don't likely need at this stage, I can focus my attention and money on key brushes. Thank you! So glad to see that you have a similar video targeting brushes for the face.
You popped up in my recommended videos and I subbed just for your accent. My mom was from Scotland, but my granny was Irish and had an Irish accent. I love hearing it.
This was such an informative tutorial. I have been slowly learning how to use brushes, as I use to use sponge tips years ago or fingers, but I love the idea of the brushes. Sending you sunshine from Oz 🌞🧜♀️
I can't begin to say how much I enjoy watching your videos and getting makeup tips. I'm a grandma now and with your suburb tips, people think I'm in my late 20's! ❤️❤️ (I'll be 44 in November!)
I'm far from beginner in makeup (have been doing that for 30+ years), but on brushes I am, as I've basically used eye shadow applicators for eye shadows, and mostly fingers for foundation (have always found that the easiest & best way). So never really found a use for brushes, but now wanted to learn to use eye shdow brushes ;)
Really helpful. I'm trying to figure out if you have to use a new brush for every color change....do you clean them in between so you won't have two colors on the brush? Thank you.
I'm such a crap girl! I have no idea what all the different brushes are for and all other videos seem to confuse me but this was finally something that made sense to me! Explained really well, thanks!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I kinda knew some of the brushes but hearing from the blending guru herself, I now know for sure. Very helpful. 😊💕⚘
Your eyeshadow would be PERFECT but I think in this video you have taken the darkest shade much to far across the lid. Its past your pupils and I believe even the far side of the iris. Concentrate the dark color towards the corner and cress and only bring maybe 1/3 of the way out. You have such beautiful blue eyes and that dark color draws away from the color of your eyes and draws attention to the center of your lid. Not being mean because your gorgeous...just trying to help a sister out
Wow this is very helpful..i was today in a shop coz i like to buy some brushes to learn more and to pratice as well and honestly i dont know what brushes do i need to buy so i decide not to buy..now trying to get some information about brushes..and you gave that info..thanks for sharing and im sure tomorrow i know what i pick..😍💗💖💓❤💞💜
elf has a nice c brush. i picked it up about 3 mths ago. its from their newer drug store blk line. i believe it cost around $3 but i know it was for sure between $3 to $6 they also carry a smudger brush in the cheaper white brush line because the carry their line of smudge pots shadows. heres a trifty tip. if you go to dollor tree you can find the smudge brush along with a few of their white lid smudge pots for only a dollar. they do see the white line for a $1 ea at walmart. i will say their new black brush line is awesome. i picked up several brushes for my face in that line and the C shape brush.
I was searching for this video for a long time but its not enough i think because i would like you to explain more and show how you pick up your eyeshadow but thanks 😊👌
I used theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette shades Matt Malloy and Matte Rosen. Then I used theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette shades Matt Lopez, Matt Reed, and Matt Ahmed! Thanks very much :) x
Hope it was worth the wait haha! No, I've never heard of that lipstick before but if it's a similar colour to the one I'm wearing...I NEED it haha! I lined my lips with Mac Stone Lip Liner and then I applied the Nyx Lip Lingerie in the shade 'Honeymoon' on top :) x
Eimear McElheron Thanks for the reply :) :D Maybelline have some new 'Bold' shades including a navy blue and the Gone Greige which is like a gold beige colour. Thanks again :) x
Thankyou so much for the tips.I am a new subcriber, Your videos are very helpful.Im a beginner and i have so many brushes and i didn't know which brush was with what..Anyways thanks again.
I appreciate the info. I was a bit distracted by your eye makeup and the fact that you took the dark color a bit too far from the mid(1/3 of the eye). Or you could have take it all the way and do a full smokey.
Mostly online although I know the brand is stocked in Super Drug as of late! I purchased majority of my elf cosmetics products online and the odd few in TK Maxx :) Thanks so much for watching! x
I've been doing makeup since I was about 14/15 and I'm still learning! I just really enjoy the process, I could spend hours upon hours playing around with makeup which helps because I'm getting plenty of practise in haha! The more you practise, the easier it gets I promise :) x

Thank u
5 brushes for just eye makeup - that's too much!! 😅 (I can't be the only one who thinks that...?)
@@florenna it's been that way long before makeup. Even paibters have multiple brushes for the texture and shape they want to make
