- A $13,000 heating bill and less than a month to pay it. Kier Junos speaks to an East Vancouver single mom on income assistance who says Fortis BC made a mistake that she can’t afford to pay for.
A mistake they made? She made the mistake by not acting like a responsible adult and keeping records of her own bills. Stop making babies, my god.

It’s probably they haven’t gotten a reading in a year or so. I’ve gotten a 5k water bill before. When I called they said as much. What they suggested was it was to get my attention, which it did.

The mistake she made in this case was trusting her ex to pay her gas bill. You never ever rely on an ex to do anything especially if It's a man and especially when it comes to bills.
They call it an ex because they are an ex-ample of what not to do again.

They started it with the single mom narrative. Single or married, with kids or not, male or female, nobody would want to pay the bill. . Being single, being a mom, had nothing to do with the gas bill. She seems nice, but that still has nothing to do with the gas bill.
