Mohanlal has a born talent for acting and has had little or no training in the art form Kathakali. No other actor can do this role in the country.

Had read this on reddit the other day. Very meaningful.
Mammootty characters will make you understand the depth of the character from a 3rd person perspective.
Mohanlal's characters will feel like you are the person experiencing it from a first person view.

Exactly, the fact tht an art form like kathakali would take several years to master and yet the legend mohanlalji managed to master just within a few months is simply breathtaking!!heck evn the most reknowned kathakali dancers were heaping praise on him and went on to claim tht mohanlal was a bttr dancer than them all!!!!.

Mohanlal is an extraordinary actor with an extensive filmography, and it's remarkable that he hasn't had formal training in acting. In his movies, his lip-syncing during complex microtonal singing is impressively precise. He has also demonstrated exceptional skill in dance, portraying both a classical Bharatanatyam teacher and a drunken variation of the dance with great authenticity. His performances in psychological films are so convincing that it's hard to believe he has no psychological ailments. Despite his brilliance, he remains relatively unknown outside of certain regions of India and the world.

In the case of kunjukuttan its not easy to forgive. Those who preach forgiveness is coming from the place of privilege and abundance of love. The feeling of abandonment cannot be imagined by someone who doesn't go through it. It can be understood only if you go through it. Its heart wrenchingly painful. Its not easy to forgive, but can try to forget. But its not possible to forget either. It can be forget momentarily but stays there inside of yourself like a tattoo. There is a constant conflict in suppressing that feeling to forget. Abandonment issue become part of their own self, they have to live with it. It will reflect every aspect of their life. Its very suffocating but no escape from it. Resentment is due to anger ,frustration , suffocation of being abandoned and the desperate needness to be loved and accepted.

Movie is one of the best Indian movies to be made , proud this was an indo French production. Produced jointly by mohanlal , I guess no other actor could have portrayed this character . It’s a simply outstanding performance. Kummatty is another brilliant movie that you must watch , shaji N Karun was the cinematographer of Kummatty and G Aravindan director. Another fantastic reflect . Have a great week ahead.

The fact that in an interview Mohanlal himself says the quality of Cinema coming out of an industry is decided by the audience only. If they support good film and make them box office success, then the producer's will invest in such films. Vanaprastham was a flop during it's release and it did affect MOHANLAL to the extent that next few years he barely did any artistic films that required him to explore as an actor while Giving Industry Hits with back to back mass movies to the point that even industry insiders started criticizing him for doing only mass commercial film like Narasimham, Praja, Ravanaprabhu,Onnaman, Thandavam, Chaturangam, Mr. Brahmachari etc in succession 😢
