Nepotism has become a hot topic of discussion, Insider vs outsider debate is there and nepotism has both pros and cons. Even South Industries have nepotism too and not just Bollywood. Nepotism has given us talented actors who made it big Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, etc but on other side it also gave us flop actors like Tushar Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, etc who can't act and still get movies after movies. This shows that nepotism is not a problem but talentless nepotism products getting movies after movies is a problem
Everyone who makes debut in any movie industry can be put in any of these 4 categories. Giving examples from Bollywood out here -
    1) 1st category is of the Nepo kids. Their familes or someone close in their family is a established actor / director / producer. Some examples include everyone from Kapoor family like Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Khan, etc. Also Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, etc are in this category. Even filmmakers like Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, etc are in this category too
    2) 2nd category of people whose family / parents who aren't big actors / directors / producers in Bollywood but they do have some contacts. Their parents / families might be strugglers too and this category may or may not get a easy entry. Examples in this category includes Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, etc
    3) 3rd category of people who are from priveleged / elite families. They may or may not be related to anyone in Bollywood but they do have good contacts in Bollywood or know people who have good contacts in Bollywood. Examples in this category includes Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Ritesh Deshmukh, Kiara Advani, etc
    4) 4th category is of complete outsiders. They would have no or very little contacts in Bollywood. They are the ones who have genuinely had to struggle in Bollywood to get roles. Examples in this category includes Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh Rajput, Karthik Aaryan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, etc. This is the category which gets loved the most by public and even people who are boycotting Bollywood would support and can watch movies of the 4th category people
Also it's not just outsiders who have had to struggle. Even some "insiders" have had to struggle too. Some examples are Vardhan Puri, grandson of Amrish Puri who gave a excellent performance in Yeh Saali Aashiqui but hasn't got much movies after that and he even told about some realities of Bollywood. We also saw what Bollywood did with Vivek Oberoi as well and sidelined him from movies so the problem is something else and not nepotism
If we see earlier, failed nepo kids back then like Uday Chopra, Tushar Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, etc stopped getting movies but the ones who could act like Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, etc got the movies. Now we see even failed nepo kids like Arjun Kapoor, Jhanvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, etc getting movies after movies even when they can't act. Arjun Kapoor single handedly made movie lovers hate nepotism and that too when even 10 years ago no one hated nepotism as people knew only the ones who prove themselves will be able to survive. Among current generation nepo kids people want to see more of Babil Khan and Vardhan Puri as they are talented and can act
Also it's good to see Agni Chopra and Vedant Madhavan despite being Bollywood star kids, stay away from all the glamour and make a name for themselves in sports. Hoping we can see more Bollywood star kids being inspired by Agni Chopra and Vedant Madhavan

That is a very detailed explanation! Agreed. Nepotism is not the evil we think it is but it is the constant use of talentless “actors” in films.

@@ReelRealReflect yes use of talentless actors and grouping is the main problem and not nepotism. Even movie reviewers of completely opposite ideologies in Pratik Borade and Anmol Jamwal have both said nepotism is not a problem at all

Just a small correction, Vivek Oberoi wasn't sidelined, he selected bad films which is why his career failed.

Bollywood is soft target for nepotism. No one talks about nepotism in south film industries. These are also filled with nepokids, probably more nepotism than Bollywood. And nepotism is not a bad thing unless outsiders are robbed. This became hot topic after Sushant 's death. But people forget that Bollywood itself made Sushant a superstar. Bollywood is still supporting many talented outsiders like Nawazuddin, Pankaj Tripathi, Kartik Aryan, Manoj Bajpayee etc. The outsider like SRK is the king of Bollywood is enough to prove that this industry has always welcomed outsiders. And the nepokids without talent who get films do not have any career ex Arjun Kapoor and Ananya. Only nepokids with talent like Ranbir Kapoor and Hritik Roshan are surviving here.

Nepotism was not an issue, if they contribute good for indian cinema instead of flexing over the top lofe style in lime light with garbage films. In south side nepo kids doing good films. So people have no issues with nepotism. Bollywood nepokids are more into fame and flex. They were more into modeling kind of stuffs. Rather than acting.

Bohot achhe points bataye aapne bhaiya 🙏
Kuchh points mai share karna chahunga jo mujhe apni research ke dauraan pata chale, maafi chahunga agar thhoda bada comment ho jaye par request karunga ki aap sab padhein
Aapne marketing ki baat kahi jo bilkul sahi hai. Zyada dikhoge to zyada hate bhi milega. Mujhe yaad hai ek time pe jab mujhe filme exciting nahi lagti thi'n to mai uske traillers/promos me engage nahi hota tha yahan tak ki tv shows me bhi jab ye kalakaar aate the apni mediocre filme promote karne to wo show band kar deta tha mai. Par phir social media pe ye log har jagah dikhne lage. Us time ek ya 2 din poore time gunjan saxena ka unskipable ad ata tha RUclips pe. Inka zyada dikhna kaafi sardard ho chuka tha. Zaahir si baat hai hate badh jayega logon ka iski wajah se.
Nepotism me chaahe wo chhota percentage jo kalakaar achhe hi kyun na ho us filmon ki quality achhi nahi hone waali kyunki hamesha achhi art produce nahi ho payegi kyunki in kalakaron ki bhi apni ek range/limit hai. Mai dekh raha hoon ye kalakaar bhi zyada risk nahi le rahe characters me ya filmograohy me. Aur isiliye hum commercial cinema me creativity achieve nahi kar pa rahe. Mera point hai Alia bhatt achhi kalakaar hogi par us se bhi zyada achhi kalakar desh me hongi jo kamal ki performance dene ki kabiliyat rakhti hongi par hume kabhi pata chalega kyunki casting me kabhi creativity nahi dikhti.
Mard ko dard nahi hota aur bhavesh joshi zyada risky filme maanta hoon mai jisme nepobabies the par phir bhi ye filme bollywood ki standard film making ke rules ko break karti hain mai kabhi bhi imagine nahi kar sakta Alia ya Ranbir ko is tarah ki filme karte hue.
Logon ke evolve hone wali baat par mere vichaar hain ki unke dimaag ek dum se nahi khulne wale khaskar tab jab itne time se sirf 4 type ki filme aur gaane sune ho'n unhone. Hum star worshipping se tabhi bach payenge jab hum world cinema consume karenge kyunki sirf tabhi creative art ko leke ek achhi bhookh hamare dimag me paida hogi. Bollywood industry apne PR ki through hamesha ye prove karta rahega ki logon ki galti hai aur hame hamesha batata rahega ki kyun hume ek average actor ko King kehna chahiye.
Lekin saath hi saath wo achha cinema (hindi language ki filme) bhi hum tak pahunchne nahi dega. Chahe marketing me dakhal dena ho ya phir theatre milne ki baat wo kabhi achhi filme grow nahi karne denge. Taki unki mediocrity hi standard norm rahe.

Bollywood could be filled with nepo babies (which it is) and I would have no issue with it only if they were talented. Real problem is that these guys have zero acting talent, which makes them painful to watch.

@@ReelRealReflect Technicality is thrown out of the question not only in Bollywood but in all Indian (especially in commercial) movies. Like the cinematography (not color grading but the actual composition of shots), use of cameras/lenses, practical photography, and soundtrack (not the composition but the quality of the instruments and orchestration).
My assumption is it has to do with the skill and budget as the professionals are trained better in Hollywood as well as good hardware costs a lot. Yes, sadly that's the truth. Actors take the majority of the profit cut so that's not possible here.

I agree with you but don’t talk for Mollywood without proper research about Kerala. In Kerala Tamil, Hindi and English movies release along with malaylam movies even in most of the towns and panchayats apart from cities from early nineties. Not all of the new releases but the popular ones. Keralites are much more diverse than you think.
