Men-at-Arms with full Mastery are still overwhelmingly OP and anyone new to the game would do well to make MAA their priority for unlocking & Mastery. It boggles my mind that that wasn't the very first bit of advice in this video.

    • @johnnyc4357
      @johnnyc4357 Год назад

Sooner or later MAA will get nerfed (again), so for a newbie maybe don't waste time and precious xp packs on what will likely return to being a B-tier unit. But for now it is likely the strongest infantry unit except for possibly Iron Reapers.

Interesting guide, thanks for making it. Was wondering if you have a guide currently to explain and show how to upgrade units to maximum mastery or do you have one currently and can direct everyone to it?

i would say palace guards, imperial pikes and iron reapers are a VERY solid build. you need them all anyway. pikes are great against cavlary, palace guards are great against infantry and iron reapers(play by spamming weapon change) are overpowered against infantry! literally an iron reaper rush can defeat 3 purple troops alone.
i use all 3 troops, depends on the match when i pick pike over palace guards.

Can't believe Coffee that you said Kriegsrat is not worth unlocking & even suggest to new players to ignore those, this is the latest unit that receive a Mastery you know & a really powerful Mastery that transform this unit into a nightmare for enemy troops, I can't even count in how many games I got close to 100 or even way above 100 unit kills with this unit alone, this unit in the right map, placed on the right position can be so devastating that you won't believe it but how to know that from what I see you don't even have yours max level, so you never saw what they can do, sorry I'm gonna say this but it seems you are uninformed & not suited to giving advice to new players, also you said blue units are not worth it & you suggest to new players to unlock Halberdier Sergeants when everyone agree that blue Halberdiers are better, there is many other stuff I didn't like from the suggestions you gave that made me shake my head wondering if we play the same game...
Anyway, disappointing video to say the least.

Uninformed? OK...thanks for the taking the time to comment at least I guess. When this unit is used widely in tournaments and TW then I will change my mind, until then, this is what it is :)

@@CoffeeFuelledGaming No disrespect but this video is geared toward newer players, so whether a unit is common in tournaments and TW shouldn't matter. If you've tried Kreigs with full mastery you would be recommending them 100%. I'm guessing you haven't so I don't think it's a good idea to make any suggestions regarding them.

Great work on pointing out which units are worth even getting and which should be ignored. But what bothers me as a 4 month player, there are no guides that will explain WHY get those units in a first place. As far as I know noone even tried to explain theory of game and where units fit there - for example, get halbs, get ISG, IPG, palace guards and Javs, but without knowledge what you can and what you cant do with them its kinda meh. Did you consider making guide video explaining how the actually game works and what you need to do to maximise outcome or contribute most to a team?

      My 2c,
Imperial Spear Guards are best shields in the game, and give your whole line/team survivability. You won't get many hero or unit kills from them (until you put on great doctrines), but any guild, Territory War, or even Siege team welcomes ISGs. Shields win games.
Halberds (or Halberd Sergeants, or Fortebraccio Pikes), when braced, make your Shield Wall or any choke point painful to attack. Many units will die, especially cavalry, trying to charge into sharp pointy sticks.
Men-At-Arms, when fully maxed, have a feature called Cover Commander, that lets you walk into a fight-in-progress and they will just murder everything like a swarm. Has a self-heal over time, again when maxed.
Winged Hussars, if you line them up properly, have the strongest horse charge in the game. Can wipe out 100 units and/or 5 heroes with a single, well placed charge.
Onna-Musha are great for flanking enemy groups when they're not looking. But they are squishy and die easily.
Maul is the strongest hero weapon in the game. Spin to win, grab enemy hero and throw him into a pit of friendly pikes, or just tank a bit with his heavy armor.
Archers are commonly deployed by noob players, and make for great snacking by enemy Maul/Longbow players.
That's enough to get started...Iron Reapers, Kriegsrat Fusiliers, and other units are op stronk but they take a while to build up. I adore Zykalean Militia, Rattan Marksmen, Camels, and Myrmillone, but they are niche and you should know the basics first.

Contrary to what people believe, this is a "strategy" game, units are important but it's more than this unit vs that unit, some units are objectively better but with how the game is, unless one is making a deliberate choice to use bad units, you should naturally have good enough units, a lot of times what's lacking is the fundamentals of the game, namely the strategy part, each game mode gives you win condition and you need to "work" with the team to achieve it, you now must individuate the objectives an their changing priority, then chose one of the objectives and do one of the 3 main actions: offense, defense and disruption, if everything goes well you win, remember that even if you chose the right action for the right objective and the entire team is somewhere else, you have failed because you were not coordinated with them, if the entire team chooses to take supply and you go to capture a point and gets wiped by the enemy team, you are in the wrong for going alone, if everyone agree to take point but you go in and they are on the other side of the map, you are in the wrong for not waiting to group

I don't understand the strength of Halberdier Sergeants. They don't do anything great. They don't brace as well as blue halbs, or forte's in TW. They don't charge as well as IPGs advance, and they aren't as tanky as ISGs. I'd even rather have spear sergeants than halberd sergeants... thoughts?

Halb S. are really good mix of damage and survivability. Yes they have a bit less damage then Blue Halbs but they are far more Tanky and they still have enough damage for killing very much Units in a Short time and Blue halbs just die to fast
