- The dream never dies... Hoenn remakes are here, and this is my love letter to them.
This intro holds a special place in my heart mostly for creating a much more important relationship between you and your starter. With Treecko being one of my favorite Pokemon, it only ups the adoration I have for these games. I hope you all enjoy!

No it's definitely absorb seeing as he learns it at level 6 in gen 3. He shouldn't have learned it until after the battle though.
I have to say, it's very refreshing to see something like this, a flash cartoon that isn't a dumb parody or, like, 'Make this child-friendly series for adults'. As much as I love me a good video game parody, seeing an actual tribute that can be taken seriously is kinda nice every now and then.
slashermaster28 Agreed, this deserves more views than any of the ones that have characteristics that you just mentioned, where a pokemon parody gets over a million views for stupide instead of good animation and story retelling.

Was going to comment the exact same thing. I actually thought this was going to be a parody. Glad I was wrong! Not like all of the parodies are bad, but most of them tend to use all the things you said and it can get old fast.

I'm sure you have heard this plenty of times before but this video is a masterpiece.
It is disturbingly rare to find Pokémon animations that aren't parodies. They often have gore, nsfw, vulgarity, dark humor or all of the above.
It is so wonderful and uplifting to see something as pure as this, this what Pokémon is all about.

I’m glad my age group is finally starting to make Pokémon vids. Before it was all just genwunners making parodies of the original games.

Red 23. I was 9 when I got emerald. Current 18 year olds typically played diamond and pearl first.
They've been making them for years to be fair - gen 3 and 4 have had a lot of attention, and now gen 5 is getting it, as each generation of young kids grow up and make nostalgia videos.
John Martinez I never saw a good animated parody of a gen 3 game made before this. I’m not talking about videos *about* gen 3, but rather creative self-drawn masterpieces.

I find this in 2019, and this is an amazing thing to find. It gives me a nice idea of something to do, and to be honest, while some impacts look brutal, it won't ruin childhoods, it's actually great to see. To add to that, this captures a stronger feeling of that opening, and while you know the outcome is good, the actual threat exists. 11/9, would recommend to everyone.

You forgot its special ability overgrow. Makes it 33% Stronger on low health
AMAZING animation. You really capture what a battle would look like with status AND damaging moves, something the anime fails to do constantly. In addition to that, you really showed Birch's peril well. I often hear people go, "Why is Birch afraid of a little puppy?" They forget that a: It's a wild animal, and b: It's based off of a hyena. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly how dangerous hyenas are, but unarmed I would never be down to 1v1 one. You've earned yourself a sub with this one. Keep it up!
If every pokemon battle is like that and we see a boring animation on our screen. I can't think about some of the cooler battles.
It's sad that million dollar company's don't put forth as much effort as they should because they realize everyone is gonna buy the game anyway

I always chose Treecko, simply because geckoes are awesome, I used to catch them all the time as a kid.

This was my very first pokemon battle EVER! When I was a kid, pokemon ruby version was the very first game I ever played. Treecko was the very first pokemon I ever chose. I remember this battle perfectly. The battle against the poocheyena at the begining of pokemon ruby will always be a special moment for me. This video captures a special feeling for many people who played through this as their very first pokemon battle. For many, this was the beginning of their journey and their glorious introduction to the wonderful world of pokemon. Thank you for making this video.

Man, I come back to this video every now and then. Every few years. The animation is wonderful and nostalgic. I remember first watching this video when I was 9. I'll be completely honest, I teared up at the instant bond you could tell was between the trainer and Pokemon. This is a beautiful representation of how the show and games are supposed to be. It's so sad that I was half dreading watching this vid when it came up in my recommended cuz I didn't want to watch another morbid parody.
The Poochyena looking horrifying and even rabid shows even more the fact that the professor was actually in danger and why they always tell you to never go into tall grass without a Pokemon. They are dangerous creatures that humans tame to be their friends and protectors and they help out each other.
The visuals were great along with the fluid motion and expressions. No words were needed. Excellent job! Keep up the great work :0

Treecko was my Hoenn starter. I loved the evolution stages for that starter. When I first saw leaf blade I thought it was amazing and then I saw it in the series and was like "holy shit....." I just loved how Grovyle's blades would glow green and look like an assassin.
