If true, I hope it's a smaller form factor like the PSP and Vita as opposed to the much larger Switch or Steamdeck. Not for the portability, just because lighter weight handhelds feel so much better to...hold in your hands.
I am absolutely in favor of the console makers moving away from making underpowered PC towers and moving into making overpowered handheld/hybrids. Nintendo came up with a paradigm shift with the Switch. It's just what we need now that consoles have begun to stagnate. It's high time all the gaming companies started to beat this new horse.
While I think Nintendo has waited waaaaaay too long to release a switch with more power, graphics will continue to have diminishing returns. At a certain point it makes more sense to make some sacrifices to power in order to make them portable.
I would say that Ps Vita failed more due to the flaws in the product that made it expensive, not being Micro SD and lack of exclusive games, but it was an incredible device for the time. But Ps Portal is complete rubbish, horrible,

As impressive as the new portables are, if I can't fit it in the pouch of my hoodie, it doesn't have value to me as a handheld. Until we get something that puts a higher priority on the portability aspect, I'll just have to stick with my modded Vita.
