Something that I believe to be brilliant about FFXIII, is that all the "Undying" type of enemies were named after certain people who in ancient times fought or rebelled against the Roman Empire. Vercingetorix, for instance, was a "king" who rebelled and plot against the Romans.
One thing I'd like to point out for those who may have not played FFXII, you don't have to beat Yiazmat to fight Omega Mk. XII. You just have to accept the mission to fight the former.
Actually, you don't need to defeat Ozma for Ark, I believe you can buy a second pumice piece from the auction and have Hades (after defeating him) combine them.
FFX-2's HD remaster gave me some fun by letting me have two Superbosses in my party. Fucking shit up with Trema and Almighty Shinra was fucking hilarious.
the most memorable superboss for me is from a goddamn fan game. super Mario RPG the seven SAGES. the superboss is kinda weak.....but to reach him you have to grind alot. you have to face every single major boss. no breaks and they are super powered. unfortunately I went overboard in grinding and never took More than 50% of my health. oh and the boss is a blue sphere with orange glasses.
The strategy for Ruby Weapon is that you go into the fight with 2 dead characters and quickly revive them. You really need the Phoenix materia equiped for Emerald Weapon or plan on wasting a lot of hours lol
Not to mention he can counter an attack by healing himself with Curaga which will most likely heal him for 9999, the thing is unlike many other superboss Ozma isn't an endurance fight it's a matter of who kill the other faster you can kill him fast but he can also wipe you out really fast 2, tough there is a strat that involve soloing him with Freyja and using Jump to force him to use Doomsday to hit himself for 9999 (after you did the friendly sidequest) I dunno the details but there is a video about it somewhere.
In FFIX Hades coul be considere a superboss to tough he isn't as hard as Ozma (fun fact if you beat Ozma before him he will comment on that at the beginning of his fight involving that he knows Ozma), also not really a superboss but did you know that the Friendly Yan can be killed normally and he has the highest stat in the game having 255 in almost all stat and a special attack called Bwahhh !!! and there is also Tantarian a optionnal boss that can be fought at only 2 moment of the game he can be considere as a superboss since after these 2 moments he will be completly miss.
I've only beaten a few of these lol, I beat Emerald Weapon, Ultimate Weapon, Dark Yojimbo, Shulongui, and the other boss from 13-2, also Snow is has a stupid strategy where you have to provoke him while he's charging sovereign fist
However, if you make all four party members either absorb of nullify shadow, then all his Shadow-elemental attacks are removed from his move pool. So it's still kinda tricky.
Honestly.... not really sure 'superboss' would be correct for any of the bosses in 10-2. If you have 2 dark nights for defense and have one level 99 gunner equipped with catnip and speed bracers. Let the Gunner get into critical health and go trigger happy. Every boss pretty much melts in a matter of seconds with this tactic.
By that logic Aeronite isn't a super boss cause lighting can just nuke it to death in under 4 mins thru its damage reduction so effectively well over 100 million hp.
Even though the Pandemonium Warden doesn't have doesn't have the 20 forms but instead has 10. Does anyone who played that game back then remember what the forms were. I don't care about what they did. Just what they looked like.
It's quite odd how much you skimmed over FFXII here, you haven't for example mentioned the unique thing about Yiazmat, that at any point of the fight you can leave and when you come back its health won't have changed.
I have read that Adamantoise has only 5 Million HP. But still, he is really hard But I think Naflgar (or however he is called) seems to be even more difficult in case of his strenght.
I think he isn't mention because unlike Vercingetorix and Long Gui he can be instant-kill with Death tough fight legitamely yeah he is the hardest boss in the game especially the mission where he has 5 minions with right from the beginning.
@@nesoukkefka1741 summon with lightning and jump thru the hoops to one shot stuff(its strict and weird) stagger the thing launch it and spam blitz with sazh. In both cases it will die painlessly. And here is why lightning's summon does have a weird insa kill its not consistant but I've gotten it to work on that thing on a regular basis it requires a maxed out chain gauge a specific threshold of hp. If you fail any criteria it won't work. But the much more sane and easy option is abuse sazh's blitz it does monstrous damage and during stagger has a long enough animation to keep it in the air if you time your attacks after the launch. These strats do require you to use buffs and debuffs and if your were not already using them then there's your problem.
I always use buff and debuff ^^, being a long time I played the game I forget about Lightning's Summon Instant-Kill, launching him still require you to stagger if I remember his stagger his very high you can use a weapon skill to instantly fill the stagger gauge but it's random (tough it happen no matter if you're using Sahz or anybody else you are at a high level enough it will destroy him), also it should be note that there's 2 version of Neochu one where he starts alone and one where he directly start with 5 of his minions still have to deal with them before dealing with Neochu himself.
He put Pandamonium warden in here :).....that boss is the hardest boss that i have ever faced in any games that i have played in my 21 years of living lol.

Whooo been looking forward to this, i freaking love superbosses
I really liked these two videos, but I wish you'd have put their names on screen!
Nice to see the bestiary getting some love again!
Love these informative vids on ffxiv and ff in general you are my 1st or 2nd favorite channel on youtube.
Actually, you don't need to defeat Ozma for Ark, I believe you can buy a second pumice piece from the auction and have Hades (after defeating him) combine them.
Nvm, not the auction house. You can get a second pumice piece from Chocographs.
Jesus, I heard Pandemonium Warden was infamous by the amount of health he had, but 19 Superbosses before fighting it's true form as well?!
Those weren't superbosses technically.
Yeah I assumed it took the form of weaker version's of said bosses, but still sounds pretty long
was waiting on this video hahaa keep em coming bro!!!
15:35 is that how you pronounce that name? ever since XI, i've been calling them Cat-o-Bleh-pas.
No consideration given to Hades, Shadowseer or the Hell Wyrm ? Granted, Hades is quite the disappointment. But I still feel like he sort of counts.
Fun Fact Ozma and Trance Kuja have the same hp
Star Gazzer huh, that's pretty cool ahaha.
It'd be cool if a future sequel had Ozma with its true form.
Considering the information given here, it seems FF 11 took it too far.
+Strider-Ragnarok I remember when that news story broke out. I still wonder where the QA was for that one.
Four word horror story:
Absolute Virtue casts Benediction
FFX-2's HD remaster gave me some fun by letting me have two Superbosses in my party. Fucking shit up with Trema and Almighty Shinra was fucking hilarious.
ultima weapon was also in ff6 in kefka's tower only very weak
+Josh Irvin If that's the green one, I wouldn't count him because you sort had to fight him.
I believe it doesn't block your path unlike most of the bosses in the tower.

Or don't revive them really.
Once you get Freya's Dragon crest to do 9999 damage and Steiner's shock plus a few other abilities then you could definitely cheese ozma down.
TheKawaiiCakes Even with that in mind if Ozma decide to use curse and meteor back to back then it's byebye no matter how strong your party is
Not to mention he can counter an attack by healing himself with Curaga which will most likely heal him for 9999, the thing is unlike many other superboss Ozma isn't an endurance fight it's a matter of who kill the other faster you can kill him fast but he can also wipe you out really fast 2, tough there is a strat that involve soloing him with Freyja and using Jump to force him to use Doomsday to hit himself for 9999 (after you did the friendly sidequest) I dunno the details but there is a video about it somewhere.

a thing you can do with the dark aeons is that most of them were killable using yojimbo's zanmato but getting him to use it was pretty much RNG
+Galephantom nope grand summon+110 gils
My mom beat ultima weapon in 5 tries
You only get a Pumice for beating Ozma. Which is a huge middle finger considering how annoying it is to beat.
I've only beaten a few of these lol, I beat Emerald Weapon, Ultimate Weapon, Dark Yojimbo, Shulongui, and the other boss from 13-2, also Snow is has a stupid strategy where you have to provoke him while he's charging sovereign fist
I tend to avoid super bosses for my own safety. However making Twintana my bitch was so satisfying back when I completed T5.
will you ever start a video series for boss strategies?
Ah one day I'll beat those savage bosses of Alexander and coil!
Man Ozma was pretty easy if you had stuff that absorbed shadow. Like pumice pieces. Also surprised you didn't include Hades.
However, if you make all four party members either absorb of nullify shadow, then all his Shadow-elemental attacks are removed from his move pool. So it's still kinda tricky.
Honestly.... not really sure 'superboss' would be correct for any of the bosses in 10-2.

MaybeTomorrow11 thus super boss, requires a cheese tactic to complete easily. Fits the description. Cheesing isn't cheating.
By that logic Aeronite isn't a super boss cause lighting can just nuke it to death in under 4 mins thru its damage reduction so effectively well over 100 million hp.
awesome my tobacco favorites had super bosses and I've defeated half of them
Can someone tell me like a 350-400$ gaming PC for blade and soul on Max graphics
Imagine a boss fight against Demon Wall and Atomos in pincer mode.
I dont recall Ozma being that tough. Just use "long reach" skill
Even though the Pandemonium Warden doesn't have doesn't have the 20 forms but instead has 10. Does anyone who played that game back then remember what the forms were. I don't care about what they did. Just what they looked like.
Original 20 forms (If you include PW himself)
- Armored Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Long-Bowed Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Battleclad Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Long-Armed Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Besieged hammer-wielding Trolls (lamps and PW were the same mob type) x9
- Besieged Mamools mounted on Wivres (lamps and PW were the same mob type) x9
- Besieged Acrolyths (lamps and PW were same mob type) x9
- Besieged Galka General + 8x MNK NPCs
- Besieged Elvaan General + 8x DRK NPCs
- Besieged Mithra General + 8x WHM NPCs
- Besieged Hume General + 8x BLM NPCs
- Besieged Hume General + 8x RNG NPCs
- Troll Beastmen King + 8x Trolls (DRKs, RNGs, MNKs, PLDs, WARs)
- Lamia Beastmen King (Medusa) + 8x Lamia (RNGs, BLMs, ???, ???, ???)
- Mamool Beastmen King + 8x Mamool (NINs, THFs, RDMs, WHMs, BLMs)
- Vampyr HNM + 8x Imps
- Hydra HNM + 8x Red Dragons
- Khimera HNM + 8x Puks
- Cerberus HNM + 8x Growing Bombs, non-casting
- Dverger HNM + 8x Dverger
Now he has 11 forms including himself.
Good lord that is alot. Which forms were taking out though.
The current forms
- Armored Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Long-Bowed Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Battleclad Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Long-Armed Chariot + 8x Archaic Gears
- Hydra HNM + 8x Red Dragons
- Khimera HNM + 8x Puks
- Cerberus HNM + 8x Growing Bombs, non-casting
- Troll Beastmen King + 8x Trolls (DRKs, RNGs, MNKs, PLDs, WARs)
- Lamia Beastmen King (Medusa) + 8x Lamia (RNGs, BLMs, ???, ???, ???)
- Mamool Beastmen King + 8x Mamool (NINs, THFs, RDMs, WHMs, BLMs)
- Dverger HNM + 8x Dverger
Each of them had their HP reduced greatly as well. The biggest difference is the satellite adds HP dropped from 25k to about 2.5k
I've always pronounced the XIII tortoise boss as 'Long Gooey'.
Get hit by meteor from Ozuma then say that if your nor dead after it hits you
Ozma is back in patch 3.3 for ff14 :C
10 million hp seems legit
It's quite odd how much you skimmed over FFXII here, you haven't for example mentioned the unique thing about Yiazmat, that at any point of the fight you can leave and when you come back its health won't have changed.
god the amount of farming i had to do in ffx(IV) and FFXIII, but i beat those fuckers even perfected ff13
And then came wiping cities
Did you know that Adamantiose FF XV could be 100 million HP and needs 72 real hours to beat.
nickreilly72 yup, it's not as that hard anymore, mine just beat it in 45 minutes :D
I have read that Adamantoise has only 5 Million HP.
But still, he is really hard
But I think Naflgar (or however he is called) seems to be even more difficult in case of his strenght.
Anyone else find it hilarious that Snow of all bosses has the same HP as Gilgamesh?
+Kenpokid4 I think Gilgamesh technically has 11m, because his first form has 1m. Not sure if thats counted into his health in the second part.
I thought the neochu was considered a super boss in XIII
I think he isn't mention because unlike Vercingetorix and Long Gui he can be instant-kill with Death tough fight legitamely yeah he is the hardest boss in the game especially the mission where he has 5 minions with right from the beginning.
@@nesoukkefka1741 because sazh can perma stun him? Or lightning can so some magic with her situational insta kill.
Lightning doesn't have Instant-Kill move and Sahz can't stun him (immune to Daze), so what are you talking about ?

God damn it XI. Every time I think about how it would be nice to go back to the 75 cap I think about CoP...
ruby weapon ;_;
This was a really good video but I hear some of the pronunciations and I'm like ???
He put Pandamonium warden in here :).....that boss is the hardest boss that i have ever faced in any games that i have played in my 21 years of living lol.
Omaz in ff14
