So dammed funny! I can relate to all of it. I loved the last clip where you ruined the tip of the reed. Not that I am happy you ruined your reed, but I do that all the time. You've gouged, you've shaped, you've scraped your little heart out and then you ruin the tip. (hence the reed). I play ENg horn and everyone thinks it's great I can play the oboe AND the french horn. If you ever get sick of the insanity of the oboe you could be a comedian, for sure.
@@BeyondOboe I bought a student model oboe but too embarrassed to practice since I definitely don't sound the way I used too. I am enjoying your musicianship
Martin, I have always been very fascinated with Wiener oboes. Surprisingly, there is not much information out there on the internet and that shrouds in mystery this instrument that is so quintessentially Viennese. Can you perhaps make an episode on the Wiener oboe to demystify it?
@@BeyondOboe Hi Marin. It is mainly the low C# but also all from E to Bb. E I add low B key to help, Eb down to Bb I can manage with embouchure. I play Lorée. (Sadly) bought my 1st (and probably last) brandnew oboe 4 yrs ago. Went to France , handpicked ( took me 4 full days to test and pick 🤦♀️). 6 months playing in, finally proudly took it to work. Work sets of cracks later ... multiple times back to France...never been the same 🥺
@@BeyondOboe HAHA my daughter, who was supposed to be sleeping (South African) hours ago, just came sneaking in and thinks it is impossible that her mom (me...Carin) is actually asking "work related advice" from called a man called Marin
@@carinbam1493 it might be that the bore has change after cracking so much, hard to say really without trying it. I hear cracking is a big issue with Lorée instruments. You shouldn't have to add keys to fix those problems. It could be your reed set up, your technique or if you are sure it's none of those you could fine tune the instrument. I would just change it to be honest :) the new Mariguax 901 are made so well and improved!
O boi... Being a professional oboist is one of my (several) crushed dreams 💔 Anybody who is *reed* ing this and making any money by playing the oboe: consider yourself very lucky ;)
Marin! Turned out great. So much fun to be a part of this, see you soon. Greetings from your neighbour.
2:33 that part was so funny i made a time stamp to rewatch😂 great neighbourhood💕
5:32 : nailed it! 😂... So many memories came back to me...
That was funny. I actually laughed out loud, even though I new what was going to happen.
It is not a clarinet!!!🤣🤣🤣
That's the same in any country.
달밤의 오보에 Moonlight Oboe I play clarinet and my mom says Oboe and not clarinet to a actually clarinet😂😂

Brilliant! 😂😂😂😂😂 LOVE IT!
Jejeje!Muy bueno!!! totalmente cierto cuando estás haciendo la caña y se te rompe la puntita!
Love this! I was going to major in oboe performance but became a chef instead. I miss music!
Chef is also super good job! I love cooking

I used to rent a beautiful Loree oboe that just sounded amazing. The oboe I have now is plastic and it's not the same
Definitely understand you! Plastic can't compete with a nice professional line wooden oboe.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 so much fun!!!!!!
Really great! From now I can show this video to people if they ask what I am doing!!
This is so awesome 😎 and really international. Best wishes from Germany, fellow oboist!
Cool ! The thing with oboe is that it needs a serious investment to try, like other instruments as bassoon for example.
Perfecto!
Absolutely brilliant!! It's so so true 😃😂
I was making reeds while watching this video😂😂
I bet you where 😁
Great, I loved it this is the first video of yours I've seen. I play oboe too.
Welcome to the channel!
I recently got to your channel and I really like your videos. You are a big artist!
Greetings from Portugal 😀🇵🇹
Thanks alot for your lovely comment! I am glad you are enjoying the content, the best is yet to come!

Very very interesting topic, will keep it in mind!
When I was playing the oboe,a child came and said:”Look! There’s a flute!!”
That's even worse 😁
I miss so much playing the oboe :(
I am so glad I play the Flute, and not a double reed instrument.
😆😆🤣🤣
😂👍🏻
My low C# is VERY flat. As second oboe in the orchestra , this is obviously very problematic .... please help
What brand do you use? It could also be too wide shape if your Reed, is it just tye low C# or other notes are being low as well?
