Ohh okay! Thanks for this advice. I am such a noob when it comes to blender and rendering stuff is still a mystery to me. I guess I will try this next time. Thank you 🙇♂️☺️

The time and effort you put in your videos is crazyyy! Replying to every single comment is insane , I seriously envy you, keep up the hard work! Thanks for that! I’ve got a question; how did you start learning anatomy/perspective, were there any classes you took? I wish you luck on your Genshin/Honakai pulls! 🌠🌟
Aw you've noticed. Thank you so much :) for me the best way to understand anatomy was to see how others study and simplify the human body. Then I tried to recreate it and use it for my own process. When I think it suits my style of working I added this new knowledge to my tool kit and if it doesnt I tried to find other ways simplification. For perspective..that's still a bit wonky but I guess it's the same method. Hope this helps! Also sadly I don't play HSR or GI anymore. My storage is full and on my drive are only 9 GB left 😅
I am glad you like it 😌 I think having references and inspiring art by other people while drawing is a great way to study their work while implementing the knowledge and observation into your own process :)
I usually see your streams and holly crap, the masterpieces you make they make no sense there are awesome. How long do u take to learn to render like that?
I wish I would stream honestly. That's still one of my goals to do. I draw Anime since 2017 and digital since 2012. Almost every day without longer periods of breaks :)
I liked both versions of the final artwork! I'm curious if you use any blend modes like Overlays or Glow Dodge for the shiny metal parts? Is it just freehand? :O Because it looks so shiny with just natural painting!
HII! I JUST FOUND YOUR VIDEO LMAO I WANNA ASK SOMETHING.. did u paint it with one layer? Then clipping new layer for 'fixing' the color? Cuz i always confused in coloring part, the color didn't match😭💔 thankyou ❤️❤️
hello I want to say I really love your art so much! I watch all your videos and they are very helpful ! I am wondering how do you blend and soften edges so well? I tend to overuse smudge tool to “soften” edges, but it usually ends up looking too smudgey, or is there other ways to doing this without over complicating it ?
Aw thanks! Actually that's quite funny. Today I found out about the smudge tool in Clip Studio and now I am using it all the time 😅 but generally I love to work with the airbrush on various hardness levels. To get sharper edges back I use the textured watercolour brush I linked in the description. It's very nice to get a sharp but a bit blurry edge back. I also like to just sharpen one side of a shadow or light so that one side is fading smoother into the surrounding areas than the hard edge. I hope that makes sense. It's quite a complex topic 🙇♂️
@@kurohshiro ahh I see! So you usually try to lasso the area that need soft blur with airbrush over? Thank you for the tip and I hope that you grow more followers from the helpful and beautiful vids you make :) ♥️👐
That’s a lot of details Σ(・□・;) and a full on rendered bg, damn I like how you made the bg blue, it makes the red highlights on his design stand out ahaha.. I really admire the way you handled all those details, seriously. I would’ve left such a piece on hold for the next 2 years lol, beautiful art as per always! The way you painted the windows on the buildings is such a smart move, I’m pretty sure I would have painted each one individually ahaha, I’ll be sure to take reference next time I’m drawing buildings! Oh and I think you maybe should’ve painted the background first so you know which colour will come from which direction especially with so many metallic parts :D Also I see you’re doing rough shading on the individual base layers instead of copy pasting?
Thanks for your indepth comment! The way to paint windows is just lazy but effective haha and since I got the perspective rulers in place I used them for the windows as well ^^ I really should have made a more careful rough painting first to get all the lights and colours correct but since I ended up with the red sky for the final version this wouldn't have been possible with planning it beforehand. And yes, I didn't do a general rough colour layer. Honestly idk why I didn't...maybe the whole project was a complete new approach with including a bg from the very beginning so that I changed my work flow as well 😅
How long does it take you to complete a full piece like this? How much time do you generally spend in specific areas when drawing, (sketching, and rendering for example) I feel like for me it all takes an awful amount of time digitally but knowing art, it doesn't appear at the snap of fingers
Ah I am feeing this. The sketch is the fastest. But only the initial rough sketch. The following cleaner sketches take a day full of work. Only then I am moving on to the lineart which is tedious but thanks to a clean sketch just autopilot. Usually a day. And then rendering. Rough colours on one layer are done in 1h but the refinement takes a week at least. This drawing overall took me 30 to 40h
Yes you're absolutely right about it. I like the new brush but I use it because my own brush isn't publicly available anymore and I want to use brushes I can share with you. I am actually surprised you've noticed this subtle difference :)
@@kurohshiro oh that's unfortunate :( I only really noticed the difference in the lineart stage, it's hard to tell in the finished artwork. I think you make both look good! The bit of grain is actually meshing well with the cool/rough characters you are drawing, but like you said it's very subtle. Thank you for answering :)
Ahh because I like lineart the most tbh? 😅 I hate Sketching for example so u am always happy to move on to part when my brain can have a rest and autopilot through this process. But seriously I guess it's just having a display tablet, pen stabilisation and fun ^^'
What is that brush you used to first draw out out the belt buckle. It creates an outline on the outside of penstrokes even if they overlap. I've seen some artists use it for a while now but I don't know the name... 3:34 to 4:06
Hey. I mentioned that this is clip studios outline function. It's like a layer mode you can apply to any layer at any stage. So the brush I use doesn't matter since it works with all :) hope this helps.
Boothill is one of my favourite hsr characters and im so happy that my favourite artist drew him💥❤
Oh wow thanks for the sweet words! I had a lot of fun with this illustration :)

That’s a lot of details Σ(・□・;) and a full on rendered bg, damn
I like how you made the bg blue, it makes the red highlights on his design stand out ahaha.. Oh and I think you maybe should’ve painted the background first so you know which colour will come from which direction especially with so many metallic parts :D
Also I see you’re doing rough shading on the individual base layers instead of copy pasting?
Thanks for your indepth comment! The way to paint windows is just lazy but effective haha and since I got the perspective rulers in place I used them for the windows as well ^^ I really should have made a more careful rough painting first to get all the lights and colours correct but since I ended up with the red sky for the final version this wouldn't have been possible with planning it beforehand. And yes, I didn't do a general rough colour layer. Honestly idk why I didn't...maybe the whole project was a complete new approach with including a bg from the very beginning so that I changed my work flow as well 😅
Obligatory save a horse ride a cowboy.
This mother fudging son of a nice lady cowboy looks mighty good in your artstyle
Glad to know 😌
How long does it take you to complete a full piece like this?
How much time do you generally spend in specific areas when drawing, (sketching, and rendering for example)
I feel like for me it all takes an awful amount of time digitally but knowing art, it doesn't appear at the snap of fingers
Did you change your lineart brush? Looks like this one has a bit of grain compared to the one a few months back. Your Boothill looks great!
Yes you're absolutely right about it. I like the new brush but I use it because my own brush isn't publicly available anymore and I want to use brushes I can share with you. I am actually surprised you've noticed this subtle difference :)
@@kurohshiro oh that's unfortunate :(
I only really noticed the difference in the lineart stage, it's hard to tell in the finished artwork. I think you make both look good! The bit of grain is actually meshing well with the cool/rough characters you are drawing, but like you said it's very subtle. Thank you for answering :)
How do you make this lineart soo clean and smoth? I hate doing the lineart i feel my hands shaking so much, btw your drawing is insanely good!
Ahh because I like lineart the most tbh? 😅 I hate Sketching for example so u am always happy to move on to part when my brain can have a rest and autopilot through this process. But seriously I guess it's just having a display tablet, pen stabilisation and fun ^^'
Now i wanna draw boothill
"And so basically you just do a little this and a little that" ah video
What is that brush you used to first draw out out the belt buckle. It creates an outline on the outside of penstrokes even if they overlap. I've seen some artists use it for a while now but I don't know the name... 3:34 to 4:06
Hey. I mentioned that this is clip studios outline function. It's like a layer mode you can apply to any layer at any stage. So the brush I use doesn't matter since it works with all :) hope this helps.
