Hello! I would like to ask about publishing a manga in one of the contests. I'm 17 and I want to create my own manga, but I would like to know if it is possible to continue making manga if I'm not 18 years old?
Well I’d just want you to know that I’m 16 therefore I won’t be able to take the course at the moment However I am going into the manga industry fairly quickly mainly because I want to experience the storyboard from professional Mangakas and their way of creating a story line and expressing characters
Same, only a year away though so might still be waiting on the sidelines myself while I get my other priories in check. Still really fun brainstorming ideas and designing characters, drawing skills have shot up the roof these past 2 years.
I’m really wondering whether I should plan and draw a one-shot now with my current art, or rather hone my current art better and then draw a one-shot. What should I do in this scenario? any help would be great, love the vids btw❤
Please teach me how to make a manga traditionally on a normal unbordered a4 sheet with outliners because I can't afford to buy expensive papers and g pens
Hmmmmm ngl, when it comes to my stories, I kinda go with the flow and create something I would want to read. However, if I do want to get my manga published, I should really decide on an audience.

So if you don’t know how to drawing but you have a story can we still get accepted I’m learning how to draw now but I have 2 or 3 stories ready to be edited
Honestly I am just bad at drawing I have a major skill issue I have been practising for 2 years and going to be 3 in a month and it’s barely gotten better and I want to join the manga program but I am just 12

Strictly speaking, they’re ’Shonen’ because they’re under Shonen Jump. BUT they do have very seinen themes and elements. Even Attack on Titan isn’t your typical shonen manga. It’s probably why it helps them stand out though.

2:47 I used to like one piece back in 2020, but now I have only hatred towards it and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has more manga chapters yet only 160 episodes. Take that bad pacing

As a 18-year old guy I suggest you draw and learn bro. You're still 7th grade. Try learning basics if you are new. I'm on my day 4.
Good luck
Me too🫡☺️😭

what are some upcoming worldwide manga competitions by japanese publishing houses?
I know jump a few months ago did a one shot (i think) competition for the next upcoming big shonen title.
There's Japan International Manga Award done by Japanese ministry of foreign affairs, however submissions for that are around April-July.
