Pink Floyd hands down followed by Blondies Rapture. But Pink Floyd The Wall was the most unusual, fantasy odd, eerie music i had ever heard at the time and it was fabulous . Purchasing that $15.00 double lp was a big accomplishment at FEDCO back in 1980.

Great year for music. Olivia Newton-John’s song, “Magic” is SO underrated, IMO. I know it went to Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, but the song is rarely played on oldies stations. You have to seek it out if you want to listen to it. It won’t come to you.

Funky Town was a song in 1979 1 yr before the 80s, so if this is #1 songs of the 80s we can't include Funky Town it would be #1 song of the 70s. Otherwise great songs. Love the 80s music.
Your opinion, but millions love this music and have an emotional attachment to it. I love all music, so I absolutely love almost all the music from this era. I feel we had the best music.

Pretty mediocre year really. Just finished high school and spent way more money on buying older albums (A lot of Led Zeppelin) rather than the Top 40 of the time.
I can understand where you're coming from, but a couple of these songs stretched from December of 1979 but they finished in the 1980 charts.... so that makes them 80s songs songs
