Where do you get slate? Does slate affect aquarium parameters like pH? I'd love manzanita wood logs, but out of these, I'd take the mountain wood for sure. That would look awesome in my 75 gallon angel fish tank I'm working on. Oh and picked up a new subscriber. Great video! I'm going to be adding slate myself to some driftwood pieces that I have.
i was so hoping you were going to say somewhere you could get those huge pieces! hehe. i may have to use this project for my betta tanks. thanks again!
beach wood should probably spend a season in the sun to make sure all the critters are dead, i don't bother boiling, but you may need to soak it and dry it several times
Santa sent me...... HONEST! Only one wood in my mind.... The Moopaani wood.... The two tone! I'm housebound and have been for 10 year's! So it's difficult for me to get outside and find wood for my tank. This would be the perfect answer to win a piece... Am I to late 😭 A great video, take care my friend 👍😷👍
G, Please gift them to your other loyal subscribers. Thanks for the DIY vid, I have an account at LOWES and will be picking up slate from the flooring department and carbide drills and SS screws from hardware. I have access to lots of mountain and bog wood to use. Now we know how to Do It Ourselves! Thanks!
Great idea. That mountain wood really pops a tank. Good Job!
Awesome work Greg! The mountain wood is my favorite.
They all turned out great! I love the bog wood one!
Collection is beautiful!
Man that cholla wood is massive. Great video learned a lot!
This makes so much more sense than waterlogging. And nice showing the tile saw. Ever cut foraged stone with one?
Setting up a new tank and the spider wood look great in there
bogwood! I love that thing. Cool idea
The chola wood is super sweet for its size. It’s MASSIVE for a brislenose precocious tank. Great job on the video and the info 👍🏻
Really cool build vid!
Where can I find cholla wood that big?
Sorry River Life I was asking Greg, but must have hit your reply. But if you know you can answer
Your pieces are unique
Great video as usual, I dig the mopani but all of them look great.
Thanks for the video, I will be sure to try it out for my driftwood.
I want the Bogwood!! They all look great!
I'd like to have the big piece of Malaysian driftwood... thanks for the video, always informative.
The spider wood is pretty amazing
Great video! Maybe a diy slate pleco cave/ condo build in the future?
Oh you know me too well :D
I love these! great job!
Love to have the Malaysian Driftwood. Thanks for teaching everyone how to DIY.
do you use drift wood made of cedar that's dried out, is that safe
Zi would love the biggest piece you showed, really need it for my tank. Great. Vid.
I want to attach my driftwood to stained glass. Any pointers?
where do you buy such a large piece of slate

Spider wood. Btw the cholla wood floating looks cool

for my betta tanks. thanks again!
Would it be possible to glue wood to a rock or slate with silicone?
If you cover the slate with gravel, the slate shape is a non issue, it's just support and ballast.
Okay, I quickly see you use tape to somehow mark a position on the wood and slate for attachment but would you elaborate on the process ?
I guess I’m too late to win a piece. 😹 I’m glad I found this video though!
I like the spider wood,I was wondering if you need to treat the wood that you find in lakes or streams?
I usually let it bleach in the sun
Thanks all the displays look great..
I would like the mountain wood if possible all the piece are cool though good video
We live at the beach & have amassed a large driftwood collection. Would we have to boil the wood we have collected prior to putting it in fish tanks?
beach wood should probably spend a season in the sun to make sure all the critters are dead, i don't bother boiling, but you may need to soak it and dry it several times
The mopony would look great and Plecos would love I could send a pic how much they eat of it.

A great video, take care my friend 👍😷👍
Couldn't you just silicone over the screws?
Pacific, Pacific, Pacific,!
I'm into driftwood and it's hard to something to display on where do you buy your slate from and is tha a slayer cutting machine
I'd like to try the teddy bear cholla wood in my shrimp tank.
I want the Spider or Pacific Woods.
Fill the floating one up wilt gravel Greg
It already sank, just wouldn't behave for the camera, haha
Cracked slate a non issue, it will not move, it's just ballast under the gravel.
Mountain wood, Mountain wood, Mountain wood!
The Bigger, the Better!
You are correct, Bigger wood, Bigger slate.
take wood, super glue or epoxy to slate... why make it so difficult? SS screws can and will rust over time, depending on actual content of chromium.
sounds like a great video for you to make, compare/contrast the results over time
Spider, Spider, Spider!
Saba, Saba,
Saba!

Bog wood for me. Thanks!
Mopani wood sinks on its own, in my experience, but perhaps that one doesn't?
It does, but i wanted it to stand up at a cool angle, same with malaysian driftwood
Cholla, Cholla, Cholla,!
Hey, I'm an Animal House fan.
Malaysia, Malaysia, Malaysia!
Pukani rock. :D
Glue it.
Or mopani
Bog wood, Bog wood, Bog wood!

'Overpaid'? that is undermining the work of someone else's ideas and time. Very disrespectful from one artisan to 'another'
.
That's fine. You keep overpaying for works of art while some of us can continue to be frugal.
