I have worked on these and other gate operators for years, the switch assembly is constant trouble after a couple of years, especially if the bushings in the actuator get worn pretty bad, and the actuators are very expensive. I hunted for years, but did not locate extension tubes to replace those that were worn, until just yesterday, so I turned around and ordered an extension tube and a limit switch assembly from a US Automatic dealer in Ohio. Now I wild rebuild the actuators instead of it costing my customers so much to replace the whole thing, since I know that I can get the tubes. I did decrease the wear on the actuators for a some of the gates I service where it is gated communities or industrial sites, by putting timers on the gates and allowing them to open and close for certain times of the day and week. I like the Patriot Boards, maybe because I know them so well, but the boards themselves do not give much trouble. The main problem with gate actuator limit switches that are mechanical, is that they wear out, and the limit shaft and dogs are some type of material that doesn't last very long, compared to the cost of replacing them. I should not complain, except that I don't like to see my customers continue to pay out on the gates so often.
Thanks for the video. It was extremely informative and well done. You really nailed it and made it very simple to understand and see what's going on in the panel. Thanks again.
I have a Patriot 2. My gate will not open or close. The extend light for the master is not lighting up when I push the LED notification. What could the problem be?
Mine was working for about 6 months but suddenly stopped. Tried resetting. I don't see any lights turned on my 12VDC 2amp battery charger thing like yours does. I wonder if something happened to that? Literally no lights are turned on it... and it's been sunny all day. Thoughts?
The reset button resets the alarm. You may have blown fuse/s, or the limit switches are out of adjustment, if a fuse is blown (15A automotive type), then it is probably a limit switch problem.
Use the P1 and P2 buttons on the LCR receiver by pressing down P1 and hitting button 1 on the remote. Most don't use the P2 function, it's a little more detailed. P2 is for latch open mode. If you need help, let me know!
