Fabulous set of tutorials! I've taken classes using Art Impressions stamps & the watercolor technique, but to have it as a video is a wonderful resource! Off to buy watercolor paper! Thanks...
Hi Carolyn: Thank you for the comment! I am using a #4 round watercolor brush. The brand we sell is called Connoisseur. It is a "middle of the road" brush, not super expensive. This technique does not require a high end brush. Thanks for watching! Bonnie
I have learned so much from you. I love that #4 paint brush. It holds water great and with a little pinch off you can keep going for awhile. It has taken me 2 weeks to get the hang of the water coloring and I am really enjoying myself. My first couple tries all my pictures looked like blobs. Now I am doing it the Ai way. Thanks Bonnie. I can watch you for days and I have.
I watch your tutorials using this technique over and over. They never cease to amaze me. You do make it look easy. I have tried it and would like to invest in some more Ai stamps. I have about 4 sets of the watercolor kind you use. My problem is I REALLY LOVE the Girlfriends and the Old People stamps so I tend to buy them first. Art Impression stamps are my favorite of ALL stamps! Ai must have a very talented creative and fun staff to create the stamps they do!
You are so kind! I love the girlfriends too! :) Some time has passed since this comment was written, so I hope you have been able to try some of our new sets and been enjoying watercolor!
Hi I'm new to this channel and I am really enjoying your videos. I am a cardmaker and I'm interested in getting into watercolour painting so these tutorials are excellent. I already have a lot of stamps I can use for projects but it would be helpful if you could explain the tools you use and why. So why watercolour paper is important. The types of brushes and markers you use too. Thank you
Welcome! So happy you found us! :) Do you have Facebook? I'm doing LIVEs on every other Wednesday and answer questions in real time on there while doing a watercolor project. It's so much fun! A quick answer to your questions! Watercolor paper is essential to this technique because it is made to hold the water without distorting the paper and compromising your work. Water based markers (like Tombow and Marvy) are important so that you can pull color from the lines. Even after stamping and the image has fully dried, you can still pull color with water. The brushes are designed for watercolor as well. Hope that helps!
@@ArtImpressionsStamps thank you so much for your prompt reply. The information is just what I needed. Presumably you could also use distress inks? Although I prefer the idea of using the markers as you can use them in many ways. I'm not on Facebook but I'm very tempted to join as I love your demos.
Hi Carole! Marvy has had a long-term backorder on many of our favorite colors, but we should be receiving them around September 15! We will send an email when they are available if you want to sign up for our newsletter at bit.ly/AiEmail :)
Hello Bonnie! I am knew to this technique. I have water color pencils and paint. Are these "water color markers?" I was ink stamping and using my paints freehand. Very nice project for this winter. Thank you. ~ Diane
Hi Dixie! I'm using Marvy LePlumes. I'm partial to these mostly because of the Sepia #45 used in many projects and the fine tip that always stays wet. Marvy has been making markers for many years and really puts out a superior product.
