    You may want to take the weatherstripping out so that it gives you more room to slide the glass in the top of the door.Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

    @1AAuto  12 лет назад

    You may want to test the power going to the rear window to see if the motor has power to it. On the front windows take the door panel off to see if there's a way to tighten the windows on the bracket, you could also spray the weatherstrip around the window with silicone spray to help speed it up. you can find it at you local auto parts store. Hope this helps you out.

    Pretty much happens across the board on many vehicles. The cable could be jammed. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

  • @1AAuto
    @1AAuto  12 лет назад

    There could be a stripped gear somewhere or just a weak motor that's preventing it from going up.

    THanks for this. Just one comment for those whose window is stopped in the closed position, as was mine. Rather than attempt to cut the cable for the window to be removed, I was able to get a longer 10mm wrench onto the two nuts to loosen and then used my fingers to undo. A little slow but eventually they came out. I undid all of the bolts holding the assembly so the assembly would drop enough to allow the window to drop from the upper guide track and then I was able to lift it out.

    Thank you for viewing out video on the rear power window regulator for the 2001-2005 civic. The Explorer has separate motors for the front of the vehicle as well as the rear.

  • @1AAuto
    @1AAuto  12 лет назад

    The issue could be that the motor has finally quit on the regulator.

  • @1AAuto
    @1AAuto  12 лет назад

    You may want to test the rear switch to see if has power going to and from it.

    This was a huge help! thank you. Made it easy to change! The motor was still moving when engaged. But the window wouldnt go up. Turns out the cable in the regulator was tangled. As I tried to untangle it, the cable broke. It was worn through pretty bad. I walked down to O'Reilly's and bought a new unit. Whole job took me 3 hours. For someone who's done it before, it should only take 1 hour. The best advice is taping the window like he did. Also, taking the door handle off....it's just prying it off of the round pin,.or.lifting it off of the pin. Careful..it's plastic.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 года назад

      +Devin Perry Thanks for checking us out! We are unsure if this was stuck down, up, or in the middle when this video was made back in '12 but you may be able to use a helper to physically move the window glass up and down and hold it in place while removing the bolts. You also may have to cut the regulator cables if that doesn't work.

    Great Videos as always 1A. Neihbor has a 2004 civic. It's all the way down. When i click down on the switch on the door it makes a noise like it's trying. When i pull switch up it makes no noise and does nothing to roll window up. The Drivers door switch does nothing to roll up as well. Think it's the switch, fuse? Shouldn't be the motor i wouldn't think since it sounds when going down right? Thanks for your help, i want to help her. Ps the door panneling seemed different then what you showed but i couldnt be wrong. I will see if i can pop that plastic cover off by the switch like you did so i can get too the two bolts in handle i guess. Thanks alot for help if you can of course.

    Good vid, got 05 civic, car symptoms before disassem, Drvr rear back door switch rolls down window only, driver switch does not work left rear up / down but works all 3 other windows fine. Tested regulator direct it works up and down. Pulled just front switch, connected pin 18to17 + 19to8 nothing happens but if I remove rear switch and connect 2to5 + 3to4 window rolls up, not down. if I leave back window pinned, connect front switch, window rolls up by itself. Put rear switch on nothing happens?

    Hi thx for the help. I did find the problem.... it was a broken brown wire in the rear door flex boot. There was another wire that was cracked in two spots too that I repaired while I was in there. Remove the rubber boot from the A pillar and there is a plug. Unplug it for easier access to the broken wires. :)

    Cool, thanks for posting! Too bad I watched it *after* completely disassembling the door. LOL Is it common for these regulators/motors to fail? If so, how? I'm guessing that the cable is jammed up inside the motor assembly?

    Installed new regulator in my '05 Civic rear driver side window following these helpful instructions. Powers the window down but does not power up which is exactly what the old regulator was doing. What could be the problem??? All other windows in the car work fine. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  6 лет назад +1

      +Joseph Murphy Furniture Maker You may want to test the window switch to see if there is power going to the window motor when the switch is pressed in the up position. Test the front and the rear switches to see if either one will roll the window up. The window switch may be going bad. Here is a link to the master window switch that we carry if your switch is bad. Hope this helps you out. goo.gl/5ZgpLM

    • @JosephMurphyFurnitureMaker
      @JosephMurphyFurnitureMaker 6 лет назад

      Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Neither the front master nor the rear switches rolls the window up. Any relatively easy way of checking with a multimeter to see if the switch is bad or perhaps a wiring issue? And when you say the window switch may be going bad, do you mean the master one in front or the one in the rear? I've come this far, I'd love to be able complete this repair rather than going to the mechanic, but I might be getting close to the limits of what I can do vs a skilled mechanic.
