I went there on Sunday before Halloween so it was packed!! But because I was alone I could also skip all the lines since they have a single lane. Best thing ever, I did everything atleast once and some of the rollercoasters more than twice. Also went to the harry potter world and Nintendo world so it was a perfect day. And because it was Halloween everyone was wearing costumes.
As someone who just went this summer, last week. If you can, GO WHEN ITS WINTER MONTHS. (This also applies if you wanna go to DisneySea/DisneyLand) it was SO DAMN HOT. 35c when I went, but the UV level and the Humidity and the lack of cool wind, made it feel like 45c !!!
I went last week of February and paid $125 for two people without fast pass and went to most of the rides without waiting for hours. Buy your tickets during the week days, not weekends or Japanese holidays. Going to Japan USJ is cheaper than going to universal in California.
I went on a Thursday. Not weekend or Japanese holiday. Prices have gone up so much now compared to when I went in 2023 I feel like it is because of demand.
There is another get your moneys worth pass, VIP. You get a guide for 5 or 8 hours, walkthrough the exit to ride, cut through food stall queues, even at end of the tour your vip lanyard still works as fastpass til closing.
I keep trying to buy the express pass but it’s so confusing! They have like 10 different passes! Would buying the 4 ride variety pack get me those timed entries?
Yes, just make sure you read what each pass includes! I bought a 4 variety pack with Klook and this also INCLUDED entry to Nintendo World & Harry Potter World ☺️
I purchased this exact one from Klook: www.klook.com/en-AU/activity/3407-universal-studios-japan-express-pass-osaka/ Looks like prices have gone up now 😢 For Klook experiences I do have a discount code: KARENKLOOK (but this excludes USJ tickets) 😊
My daughter is currently in Japan and she paid over £100 (sterling) per person for the fast pass add on. For 4 rides that’s a LOT of money on top of the entry cost. But as many people have said, if you’re only going for one day you almost have to pay it, to get any kind of good experience 🤷🏻♀️
What’s the power up band? I’m going to Osaka in September will def be visiting universal and Mario Land 🥰 just waiting for the fast pass tickets to be on sale 🎉
The power up band is a wrist band you can purchase to interact with and play little games in Super Nintendo World. You don’t need to have it to enjoy the area. Totally up to you if you want to purchase it!
One question, do you need to scan your tickets even if you have an express pass for 4 rides to get into the Harry Potter world and the Super Nintendo world(for timed entry)?
I went yesterday. I had to scan my express tickets to get into Super Nintendo world. For Harry Potter I just walked in--only when going on the rides I needed to show tickets.
There are a lot of different types of express passes. The one in the video works for 4 certain rides. The info about which express pass covers which rides is typically listed when you purchase it. That way, you can select the rides you want.
It is impossible to see everything in one day. Unless you don’t go on rides. But I was happy with what I saw. I don’t think I would want to spend 2 days here.
Yes, because they can have passes for different rides! And if you really want to go more than once on the same ride then I guess you can buy the same passes again 😅
Going to USJ in March 2024. God do I want these prices. For me it was $80 USD for the entry ticket + Nintendo World entry. The only Express pass they have for my day is $160 so I'm not sure about it yet😔
@DJ-qr5wg 3 weeks, there are way too many things to do in japan and 3 weeks aren't enough to scratch the surface, but of the top of my head... Osaka > Kyoto > Tokyo > (then 3 days to S Korea) Osaka -> day 1 arrived at evening, rested because of long flight - went to dotonbori at night Day 2 osaka castle, ate at a famous street food guy, and look around the city, at night went to dotonbori street Day 3 Japan Universal Studios Day 4 woke up prepared for Kyoto, went to have a breakfast and took a small walk in my area arrived at kyoto a bit late so all of the shrines and temples were closed > went to kyoto tower at night, went to hotel to prepare for the next day (gotta sleep and wake up early if you want to make the most of your stay at kyoto because all temples close at 5 PM) Day 2 in kyoto - samurai and ninja experience + shrines and temples Day 3 golden temple + bamboo forest + a couple more shrines Day 4 shrines + temples + went to famous shopping district in kyoto -nanenzaka- bought gifts for the family and a big Katana for myself (Also i used to sit at the bar in my hotel at nights after a long day of walking KABIN KYOTO, great staff and bar) Day 5 woke up had a great breakfast and a cup of coffee to prepare myself for the train to tokyo -> went to station (and surprisingly had a 2 hours delay because of a fire on the train track, the only time the train was ever delayed in my 3 weeks stay) Arrived at tokyo a bit late > my hotel had a warm swimming pool/jacuzzi/onsen so i just relaxed there Spent a week in tokyo and went to many places a few towers, dreamlabs, shibuya crossing, akihabara electric district (which has so many stuff to do and so many figure shops, im a big fan of anime so i spent there like 3 days) And in the end i felt like i still didnt experience half of what tokyo has to offer I'm definitely going back to Japan in a few years. Forgot to mention that my last day in tokyo was 31/10 so i spent the night meeting new people, socialising and taking photos with all the people that wore costumes for Halloween:)
The USJ japanese and English websites are different. All the passes were sold out on the english one. I managed to buy tickets on the japanese website (with the google translate module on). But be careful, they ask for a japanese adress and a phone number. Either use your BNB or hotel one, or a friends who lives in Japan.
It is a $80 pass that includes express access to 4 rides and gives you a time slot to enter Harry Potter world and Super Nintendo world. You can buy passes that give you different number of rides. I know there are ones for 6 rides, but of course more expensive. I don’t think you can buy 1 ride only
Universal Japan employee here. If you look white, you can say that youre from Universal Corporate here on inspection and we'll have to give you a VIP pass for free rides and free food, for inspection of course.
Only in Japan a Hello Kitty character parade showing. What am I thinking. Japanese rather want to wait 8 hours to see and take pictures of Sarino than Italian plummer brother. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Does Osaka Uni studio food have Yoshinoya beef and chicken combo? Definitely no Myungrang hot dog or Baik noodles for Jjajangmyun or Tangsuyuk. 😋👍
This seems like the kind of thing you’d do if you visit Japan often. Japan is a once in a lifetime trip for most people so I couldn’t imagine wasting the time and money to go to a theme park when there’s so much unique and interesting stuff to experience.
Each to their own. Universal is not available in Australia so it is exciting and new for me. I think Super Mario World is pretty damn unique and interesting too 🤣
It was top of the list of things we wanted to do in Japan, along with the Osaka Aquarium. This Universal is very small though after you've been to the big parks in the US. As Japan is the cheapest place we can fly to, we can go any time. But we've only been the once.

I'm planning to go when I study abroad there.
Going in mid-to-late fall is a good idea because it’s mild weather that you don’t need to wear as much heavy clothes for and it’s the off peak season.
I just used single rider whenever it was possible and that helped a ton, so the fast pass isnt necessary

$175 usd…. That’s essentially the cost of a ticket and parking at Universal Orlando FL.
And there's no Mario World
and if you want to skip lines you're paying double for that privilege lol
Thank you for the information ! Planning my trip soon so this really helps 😊
Yaaay! I’m so glad I could help 🥰
