      @buttersnow8707 5 лет назад +19

      RDKRL I understand where your cynicism is coming from and I agree with you to a point. Everyone has their own opinions and this channel has their beliefs they will stick to. It definitely seems heavily left-leaning which is to be expected. However no matter what kind of people they're exposed to these kids will be that much richer for it. Even if diversity isn't necessarily political (they really don't touch on politics at all except maybe the trans soldier episode) the diversity they're finding in these people is experiential and cultural. Even if the kids are affected by this negatively in the short term as you claim, they will have more experience than most when it comes to dealing with people in general which will help them become their best selves eventually.

I am also proud that many kongolese have been traveling back to the kongo for holidays, posting on social media and showing how the country overall has changed. No coutries is 100% perfect. There good side and bad side. Look at greece, they always paint a picture that its a beautiful country to visit but they never show the side of poverty and how refugees lives in poor conditions. And in USA, the high problems of mass shooting that been happening for many years, police brutality that still going on and how USA has become a divided country. 😥😥😥😥.

      I don't want to burst your bubble (I really don't), but I seriously doubt that long, hesitant pause was just because she didn't want to say anything bad about the weather. I'm sure there's more to it than that and I would be willing to bet that it did have something to do with racism and/or her refugee status. In today's environment, I'm sure she's either directly or indirectly heard things in this country that have affected her. It was likely on her mind, but she chose to keep it relatively light and talk about the weather.

    I can't believe some people are against refugee's entering a country. Look at what she's been through and you're going to prevent her from living in a safe society. That's a disgrace tbh. I'd advise you to go what she's gone through first. and then you're allowed to have the choice between accepting or refusing refugee's into a country

    • @UgandanAirForce
      @UgandanAirForce 5 лет назад +101

      you seem to not understand. Accepting refugees can be a problem since too many of them don't assimilate into said country's culture and language. They also take up a lot of money and resources as well, that money and resources could've gone to helping their own people rather than helping people that have a totally different culture and way of life compared to them. In my country the U.S. we have our own problems of drugs, too many illegal immigrants, spineless leftists and so on, we even have hungry children ourselves even though we accept a pretty good amount of refugees each year and provide social services to them. You need to understand that other countries have their own problems and people that they need to take care of, but if you're willing to let some of these refugees stay at your house free of charge as well as providing them with food and clothes then go on ahead.

    • @sundayriang1941
      @sundayriang1941 5 лет назад +136

      Joshua Rathbun being a refugee myself its not that difficult to assimilate to the said countries culture and language. There are English schools in America packed with adults trying to learn English and Americans culture, live with a refugee and you would understand. Ones their kids are born here their automatically grows with the Americans culture but also their culture if they choose to pass it down. The drugs and illegal immigrants is because Americans security is not strong enough. Also if you understand as to why people decides to come here illegally you might try to fix the problem and the drug. drugs come here so those people make money to support themselves or their family. Illegal immigrants come to find jobs. coming here legally is hard and takes a long time. No jobs they join a gang bring drugs or come to your country illegally. Treat them like regular citizens pay taxes get jobs help the community. And if their country is stable and they want to go back let them. I’m not telling you to give them all your stuff, I’m just telling you to care about another human being and don’t ignore them. If you were in their shoes would you want someone to help you or just walk away .REMEMBER THEY ARE HUMANS.

Either way Italy can block they are going to try to survive going to Italy over and over again because that’s how they are going to prove to you they want to go to a better country. Unless their country gets fix. Imagine? Can’t relate only a First world problem. People rather live then care about how they look. I know it's gonna sound weird but, try to fit in with the white kids.
      Make them see that you are not a threat to their society. Don't mess around with the stupid gangs either.
      It's hard for me to explain, but segregation only makes groups afraid of eachother. This is why i say make the white kids see that you are not a threat to the society. Don't mingle with idiots who do not have societal standards. (and yes, there are a lot of white idiots who do not have societal standards in the UK too)
      I really hope the best for you. Stay off the streets as much as possible too, or, if you're playing outside, stay with friends.
      When i used to live in the UK there used to be big problems with street crime. Make yourself safe / untouchable (by staying in groups of friends when outdoors)
      And work towards building a community where people are not afraid to see people with other skin colours.
      You do this by making yourself ''known'' to people. When you are the ''afghanistan stranger'' people fill their brains with all sorts of associations. They might be scared of your skin colour (and that is literally all it is) because they hear about ''war in afghanistan'' and all the stuff the media throws at them. So many people won't tell you this but when they see you walking on the streets they usually might think you are dangerous.
      You don't need to go around telling every person you meet that you are a normal person with normal morals.
      But you should be aware that the colour of your skin can instill fear in many people. And you can take away this fear by letting people know who you are and what your morals are. By communicating with your friends and peers.
      Also being fairly active in school isn't a bad idea. I used to joke around a lot but trust me, you will impress people WAY MORE by being the ''smart guy'' in the class than you will as the ''clown''. They will trust you more, and they will look up to you.
      All you need to do to achieve this, is raise your hand in the classroom and ask your teacher questions about the subject matter.
      Having a ''strong'' relationship with your teachers is also never a bad idea. Ask them about the subjects you struggle with, you will find they are keen to explain anything you find confusing.
      If you forget to do your homework, be honest and be the first person to come up to the teacher to say ''sir, i forgot to do my homework''. Be slightly humble and dignified and people will see you as humble and dignified. They will go ''this kid is doing better at school than us, he is setting a good example, but he's from afghanistan? Maybe we were *wrong* about our judgments!
      :)
      I hope this helps. And i try not to offend. This is just how i think things are and i hope bringing this to your awareness will give you some insight into how to solve the tension (which is based on fear).
      Godspeed

    My mom, oldest sister, and older brother were refugees. My sister was 5 and my brother was about 1. They fled Vietnam because of the war. My dad was in the Air Force and was instrumental in helping them escape. My mom was scared. She had to leave behind her siblings, parents, and extended family to go to a country she knew little about. She said when she made it to the refugee camp after making it to America, she would look everyday to see if her siblings had come. They hadn’t. It wasn’t until after I was born they were able to flee. My uncle even had gone to jail and was forced into hard labor after their boat was captured. He was even beaten. I’ll always admire my mom and my uncles for what they have gone through. Because if my mom hadn’t fled, I wouldn’t be here today. I am also grateful for my dad who the one that got my mom and some of her family here. She couldn’t have done so without him. To me, both of them are my heroes. My dad died last January. He fought in three wars, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam. I miss him every day and knowing I came from a family of refugees makes me so proud to be an American. My dad’s parents were refugees from Poland who came to Ellis Island in the early 1900s. I’m grateful every day for my family and knowing where they came from.

    I’m from Germany. Obviously, a lot of people have entered Germany in the last few years. Not all with good intentions. But just like this brave kid, thousands of people left countries like Syria because the only other option was death. And it’s the only right thing to help them out.

    • @Bloxeh
      @Bloxeh 5 лет назад +64

      Agreed. We have to help them, it is the only humane thing to do.
      Yes, there will be problems and those have to be faced, but not helping is not a solution. It's just heartless.
      One of my colleagues at work (I'm german too btw) is spitting stuff like the boats should all return and we should put a fence around germany and all that stuff. But if you keep asking what he actually fears it's utter nonsense. He is actually afraid a refugee might "steal" his job. He has a contract, he speaks german and has an education enabling him to do this job. He just got a pay rise, but sure, a refugee will walk in and take your job. wtf... People are so fearful and jealous, it's sad.

      They don't want to be here. We don't really want them to be here. Why does the remaining DRC get away with this and everyone else just has to mop up their mess so to speak? When stuff like that happens, it apparently affects all other countries in the world. Or at least the better countries, 'cause that's where refugees try to go. Everyone talks about whether it is worth being nice to the refugees or not, but if I go into my neighbor's house with a gun and force them out, the police will come and take me down, not debate whether they should force my richer neighbors down the street to take them in. I know it's not that simple and we aren't the world police, but that's an argument for why maybe there should be. But, police do also have to get paid; so...

      I dont live somewhere extremely dangerous or ridden by war but the crime is incredibly bad, You cannot walk outside at certain times without the fear of "am i going to be shot today". you could be an innocent bystander and be killed. Everyday someone new is murdered and the killer is never found. Kids go missing and are found dead after being raped or their organs taken. Its honestly a rough life and First world countries dont understand the constant fear of thinking if today is your last day
