The recent Blancpain video showed Marc Hayek explaining that the FF was a diving watch that could be worn out of the water compared to the Bathescaph which was a standard watch which could go into the water ... I thought it explained well the FF size. Im not sure the Submariner has the same explicit positioning - albeit its happy splashing around
People don’t like blancpain written on the side of case. Funny that. Because no one can really see it, but everyone can see Rolex plus the giveaway cyclops!. And bling. People are 😄
The blue titanium model has the open case back and you can see the stunning movement which is hand crafted….I think the 45mm information is not quite right as it wears like a 42mm….even the SD43 wears larger, heavier (of course cause the titanium in the Blancpain) and ticker
5:22 hehhheee so the engraved Blancpain on the side of the case is 'a very nice touch' .... but then everybody hates the engraved 'Invicta' on the Pro Diver case in exactly the same place. Goes to show how much people are biased/impressed with the brand name and item price.
I'd go with the Blancpain, but the Sub is a much better size for my daily wear. On the other hand, the Blancpain Tribute to Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec would be my real pick, and a much better fit at 40mm -- either Ref. 5008-1130-B52A or the Hodinkee Limited Edition Ref. 5008-11B30-NABA.
If you can live without a bracelet (which any reasonably mature watch enthusiast should) the Blancpain Bathyscaphe Automatic 38mm 5100B-1110-B52A hits it out of the park as both dress AND tool piece.
Funny But not really...depends on the person. I like the fifty fathoms, but too big and not as versatile as submariner. Btw...believe submariner resale value is better than FF.
Yeah lots of resale on subs because they are boring after a while. Might make a couple of bucks eh . Then you can buy a real keeper and get a fifty fathoms. Watch with substance and a name with integrity unlike you know who!
Cost around the same are you crazy the Fifty costs 5k USD more. Don't use the grey market price for the sub. I got my new sub at my AD For 9+ USD. Plus titanium or not the Fifty is huge compared to the Sub and not good for smaller wrists. Don't get me wrong the Fifty is better but the size and price are not comparable. Personally I have the Sub but also a ceramic Bathyscaphe Blue. That way I got the best of both brands.
Rolex has a consist history and iconic military presence originally and currently. The stainless steel in 904L is anything but "standard." As a Military Diver very few of us wear dive watches, but those who do wear the Submariner or Sea-Dweller as they have a direct history with US military divers, as well as being developed with direct impact to Bob Barth and the SeaLab divers. Blancpain although remarkable, doesn't share the same sentiment as it has changed its design many times, also leaving a decades long gap in their production of their watches.
Blancpain was the first modern diver ever created… that single point is more valuable a submariner has anything to offer besides been a homage of the Blancpain FF
I will take the Blancpain. Haute horlogerie.

You can’t go wrong with with watches. But Blancpain FF speaks to me more.
I meant “with either watches.”

Am I right in thinking the titanium version had see through back abd stainless steel version not? I'm looking at the SS 45mm on strap 5015

It’s not even a fair comparison. The Blancpain wins hands down. Really dislike the engraving on the side of the case though.
I am a new FF owner! Love it!
date next to the 3 means the date wheel is smaller and the numbers would have to be smaller and harder to read

Blancpain FF - the first modern diver … the rest are all homage 🙌🏻
Blancpain fifty fathoms is the world’s first diver ever made and the most refined diver in todays market…Period!!!
Should SMP versus Blancpain As rolex is posing, but the SMP is for diving!

You compare one beauty and one beast with cyclop
The Blancpain is too big tho ... 45mm ??!!
You can get the MIL-SPEC Fifty Fathoms which is only 40mm, but yea it is still quite big
The 50F isn't too big, if you have man sized wrists!
my choice : Blancpain
Sorry Rolex fangirls, but the 50F EASILY wins this comparison.
You all had best go back to parroting resale value, to Omega owners!
Funny

Must be sad to be a Rolex Manchurian candidate. Love Rolex but the fifty is just as good. Chill guys!

Resale...
Who cares ?
Funny Name, Blancpain(WhitePain)!
☺😀😁😂
WHITE BREAD
With the huge Blancpain logo on the side of the case, I wouldn’t say it has less branding than the Rolex. It makes it look like a cheap Invicta.
Blancpain is a Junk Watch, Submariner is King! Final!
And your a blind fan boy.
