That was interesting. I have lived in the UK since the late 70s but I grew up around the airbases at Hobsonville and Whenuapai, which meant Henderson was my local town. I still recognise much of it, although much has changed of course. I would drive to work down Lincoln Road every day. There were vineyards all along it. Now it seems to be nothing but stores. The "Corbans" building was just about the largest building in town in those days. I see it is still there by the railway line. Everything else has changed around it. The Corbans were the main wine growing family in the area. If I remember right they were of Lebanese extraction. Pretty well all the other wine growers around there were what we called "Dalmatians" or "Dalies", sometimes "Yugoslavs". Turns out their nationality these days would be called "Croatian" I wonder what happened to that community now that wine growing in the area seems to have gone? I see the old railway station building is still there and I recognise some of the takeaway locations we would go to on a night out, that still seem to sell fast food but under different names. Didn't see the pub on Station Road, which I worked on while it was under construction. I guess it must be gone or turned into something else. My parents are buried at Waikumete Cemetery at Glen Eden, but I think you didn't get quite that far. All interesting though and better than Google Street View! Thanks
Hello sir hope you’re doing well, my video started just after the Cemetery because it’s in the Glen Eden. And I am very happy I have seen my video, you have sheared lots of information and your memories which I can understand now a bit how was the area I think now it has changed a lot. Thank you sir take care of yourself
Thank you for this. I left for Brisbane, Australia in 1999. Grew up in West Auckland and haven't seen since I left. A lot has changed. Great video thanks
Thanks for the great video. Wow, what's a beautiful neat and clean residential suburban quarter of Henderson, NZ and love its many green lush trees. One of my younger brothers and his family live in Henderson. He always tells me how beautiful it is. The life there is so well paced and the air is most clean and crisp and he wouldn't live in anywhere else. Well after having seen this video, I understand what he meant. Bravo, Henderson, NZ🇳🇿😎❤️🌲🌳🌳👍👍👌
Nz is very nice I used to live in auckland manurewa... great south road... hendersen...waitakere...also very good love nz i khow god when iwas in nz god blessed you amen
I think New Zealand is an incredible country, I also record in the same way here in Brazil, I started making videos recently. From now on I follow you, I subscribed to your channel, a big hug straight from Barbacena-MG!😊
@@arjunchalise2728 People weren't buying there anymore, they couldn't compete with other stores like Walmart or Target, not to mention online shopping. I think I heard they made bad investments and didn't try to keep up technologically. They went bankrupt a few times, so they closed them all down.
Not like that but i did popup +2 because sun was too bright so that color was fading , everything was little bright. Exposure down and green popup thats it but not much. If you watch on samsung phone it will too much , on iphone it just alright 😀
Saya lihat vidio ini dalam perjalanan ini saya tidak lihat mobil mewah. Mobil nya biasa aja seperti di Indonesia. Mobil Alphard dan sejenis nya saya tidak lihat.
@@rhino2992 U got No Clue Unless U lived & hang out in Ghettos & Projects. these neighborhoods doesn’t even come close to middle Upperclass neighborhoods of USA & these type of landscaping is 50% of Americans neighborhoods landscaping & there are tens of thousands neighborhoods like that in all over USA 🇺🇸 New Zealand probably has 5% if it’s based on numbers of neighborhoods vs 🇺🇸 .. & Plz don’t try to compare with NYC Brooklyn & Bronx or Chicago projects they r of different genre.
As someone who studied Urban Design at Uni the American pattern is generally straight gridded streets, which Henderson is not. This is also not a rich area, very working class, so you'd need to compare it to the more working class areas of the US. There are much better curated areas in the wealthier parts of Auckland.
To look at land valuation most of Akl is red and yellow (wealthy). Henderson is green and blue (not wealthy). Henderson has seen much better days due to the changes in demographics and socioeconomics. It used to be all vineyards, today it's overpopulated causing it to be a bit slummy.
What a beautiful and well-organized city. I noticed that drivers have kept a safe distance between cars at the signals. Amazing!
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment 😊
New Zeland is a blessed land💗🇳🇿

Very much based on American pattern but little outdated & on smaller scale & less maintained suburbs
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching my videos 😊
Lol ive said many US suburbs more outdated and less kept then this area of Auckland

少し日本に似ている。でも人口や車が少ないせいかスペースに余裕がある感じがする
