  • I don’t care which way you go. But here are some similarities between the 2 lifts. It was cool to get a chance to really drive a new Tundra with the ICON set up and to get to look at both our kit and their kit side by side. Both lifting the truck the exact same thing in the exact same matter. Do I think the Icon is a higher quality strut then the factory? Is it larger in diameter? Yes on both! Do I think think it’s longer then the factory strut? No it’s the same overall length. It really comes down to how much money you want to spend on your suspension and do you want to switch out your factory suspension or make the most out of it because it’s brand new and is not worth anything after your remove it. I can tell you this and not because I’m trying to talk someone one way or another but if someone did not tell me what I was driving I would tell you that it had our lift kit in it without looking.

You are the man. If I had done mine again, wescot would be the system I would use for best value.

I love the way my truck rides and looks. I had a kit installed by 88rotors a little over a week ago and I'm loving it. It's does not ride like factory, but that's to be expected when going with a bigger All-Terrain tire. I actually installed the tires on my tundra a week before the kit was installed. The tire got rid of the stock ride not the lift. After the lift install and an alignment the ride quality improved and almost feels like a factory again. So in other words, the lift improved my ride after I went with a bigger tire.

The only real problem with any preload style lift, when done right, is you lose downtravel. That's the only real benefit I see to using aftermarket shocks.

This icon is doing the same thing and has the same length shaft and body as the factory shock. The Icon has a preload adjustment on the bottom of the strut that pushes up the collar to preload the spring. You are correct though when the strut goes up to increase height you have less rebound that is why King only did a 2” lift on their coil overs so it would have a good amount of of upward travel without over extending the axles

I had high hopes with the westcott preload collars. But I've been so frustrated with the ride quality. I had four shops now check the alignment and align it according to the specs provided by westcott. Nevertheless I have horrible ride quality and I cannot grip the road. I am constantly feeling like I'm losing control of my truck anytime I go over any bump

Thank you for being so patient. A lot of people have been waiting 8 weeks. But we have our robot up and running at night now so should reduce wait times.

Lol literally no single person should trust a guy who says the icons rife identical to the wescott kit… when wescott claims their kit keeps the “factory ride”. on Sunday I am having my wescott kit pulled out of my 2023 Toyota tundra limited and taken back to stock. I can not even express the nightmare the kit caused to the ride of my truck and to the back air suspension. I’m literally getting everything back to stock, sellling the truck back and getting a trd. Everything was done to the exact specifications and exact setup wescott asked for. Including how to install the rear arm link for the air bags. Buyer beware on this wescott stuff. I’m in Richmond, va. Not one reputable four wheel drive shop in my area recommends wescott stuff. They all just say it’s ok. Save your money and buy something that is right. Or just do a rough country, it’s as good as wescott.

That’s really to bad! Sorry you have had this experience. It’s really funny we sell over 3000 kits a month and have over 400 Toyota dealers. So do think it’s the kit that’s the problem or maybe the installer. So let me ask you something? When so many people have a great experience with our lift for the Tundras do you think they have a different kit then you do? Maybe you should drive across the country like so many others do knowing that their truck will be done right and work and ride the way we designed it to. But hey like my wife says we can’t make everyone happy but we try. Sorry about your experience. Maybe reach out to toyota and tell them they shouldn’t do stuff with us either🤷

@@westcottdesignsI have with my local dealers. All our local specialist here never recommend westcott first. I’ve learned my lesson here. You blame the installer in your comment just like you have in some of the reactionary videos you have put on you tube. These kits have not been on the road long enough to have a good understanding of outcomes. I can guarantee more people will have issues. The forums are full of people complaining. Thank you for the fake apology. Volume of sales does not mean quality fyi. My only hope is that enough people have issues with your kit, that it turns into a class action lawsuit. You’re a snake oil salesman.
