Nonsense! iPad Pro 2021 and PS5 DualSense

- How to connect your PS5 dualsense controller to the iPad Pro? That is the easy part. What is not easy, is to realise that Apple lied to us when they said in the April Spring Loaded event that the iPad Pro would support PS5 controller haptics.
Does PS5 haptics work on the iPad Pro 2021? Watch this short video where I cover a few games like NBA 2K21, Call of Duty and Asphalt 9 to find out 👊

Any luck with iOS 15 regarding haptic feedback?
DualSense Edge doesn’t work with iPad, either. 😢
It’s the game developer ,they gotta update their game rush rally 3 has haptic feedback
thank you! will check that out 👊 Hopefully we will get a few more soon!
Any other games?
@@AlexGTech I think the developers don’t feel the need to do this because some people still use ps4 control and don’t have ps5 but you should test apps that actually have it
@@AlexGTech Hey do they have haptic support and connectivity of ps5 controller on the iPadOS 15?
It's more about apps need to support the dual sense haptics. The Gardens Between on the iPad works, though it's not implemented that much except for when you rewind or fast forward time to the full extent, and this one demo called "About by PCalc" where you drive around a tiny car - you can feel the force feedback on the triggers kick in... so the iPad DOES support the controller... it's just that no one is programming for it. And it works via Bluetooth this way as well.
Haptics for specific games. Some games need top to update on ios
I've been missing your videos for almost 2 weeks now, but I am happy to comeback here after my hellish exam days.☺❤
Haha...I can mow laugh instead of crying.😅😂
Hi Esy!! Thank you so much, I hope it went well for you, nice to see you back!
Very cool video man!Loved it. It's a pity the taptic thing doesn't work!!! What does Apple say about that??? Cheers brother! (love the brand as well!)
Hey Ruben! Thank you! Yeah Apple are not saying anything on the matter. Looks like a pretty misleading advert - not that it matters too much in the purchasing decision, but a bit disappointing for sure.
I bet money Alex that there’s going to be an iPadOS update that changes haptics being a thing on the PS5 controller 👀
Thanks bro, yeah that would be nice! It’s disappointing that’s not there for at least a couple of games but yeah it’s early days 👊🏽
@@AlexGTech well ngl u should have looked into it more, the support is there. The game developers just gotta add it, some games do support it already.
Great video Alex, loved it !
Thanks Rohit! Appreciate it. It’s just a bit of a filler this one while I work on longer review videos 😉 you know how it is right, so much content, and so little time eh?

You mentioned casually that the (12.9'') speakers are amazing, and that made me want to share a story.
I went to buy an 11'' M1 IPP with magic keyboard this morning. There was a 12.9'' next to a 11'' on display. I decided to play the same song on both just for fun, while I waited for an Apple guy to show up. The 11'' sounded just a tad better than the 2020 model, as I expected. It was alright - enough to play videos and audio to well-mannered students, but it would struggle to reach the corners of noisy classrooms, just like my previous 2020 11'' did.
Then, I hit the play button on the 12.9'' - and the music filled the whole 1000 square meters of the Apple store with astounding clarity. I was shocked. I just couldn't follow through with my plans after a month of painful deliberations, and decided to get the 12.9'' and skip the magic keyboard to stay on budget. When I told the Apple guy what I had just experienced, he scratched his head and said they always focus on the 12.9'' screen as a selling point, and it hadn't occurred to him that a customer could base his purchase decision on the sound. I suspect he will bring it up in the future to other customers, and I'm very surprised no reviewers have mentioned the massive difference in sound quality and volume between the 11'' and the 12.9''. I heard some say they were "better" or, as you, even "amazing", but these words just can't describe the incredible distance between the two.
I guess most people just wouldn't care, since they are going to use headphones, but if you need the built-in speakers because you are a teacher or do lots of presentations with audio... there's no stronger point to choose the 12.9'' over the 11'' in my opinion. It basically negates the weight difference since you absolutely won't need to carry external speakers with you. And that's a big deal for people like me. The screen is just icing on the cake (and a very expensive one at that).
The magic keyboard will have to wait.
Hi Sergio!! Thanks so much for sharing that. I am doing a more complete review tis week and will cover in a bit more detail how amazing these speakers are! I am so glad you mentioned it because I am coming from a 2015 iPad so I thought maybe the speakers now are either marginally better or same as the 2020 iPads. I will definitely make sure to mention this and hope you don't mind me quoting your experience to the other viewers.
I think you're right that most people would assume the headphones are the best way to go but honestly, after I watched an episode of Mandalorian on the iPad I was pretty happy with not putting my headphones on. Don't get me wrong, spacial audio is awesome with the Apple headphones but sometimes it's nice to just watch without the need for it.
The Magic keyboard is now an integral part of the ipad experience but I agree with you, it can wait 😉
Have a good one and thanks again for sharing this, I honestly thought it was just me who thought the speakers were amazing 😊
@@AlexGTech Hi Alex! An audio comparison with previous iPads is a great idea, and something that would surely make your review stand out from the rest. Please share my experience. I feel speaker quality is an angle that could prevent a few product returns. I know I went from Air 4 to 2020 Pro 11'' and now 2021 12.9'' chiefly for that reason.
@@sergiopablo6555 wow that's really interesting, thank you! Am writing the script for it as we speak 😉
Bro, I felt the same thing. I went to the store aiming for the 11'' but the 12.9'' was so much better. In terms of screen and sound quality. And it shouldn't. The 11'' should have a top notch sound as well. Maybe I would choose the 11'' if the speakers were same level, because I like the size of it, it's more portable. But the mini led screen on 12.9'' is also another level...
For those of you who don't know: ***Haptics on Mac, iPad and iPhone only works with the DualSense connected by USB not by Bluetooth***.

Oh yeah is sweet! this display is a killer!
Great video 🔥 it’s so good for gaming but…. I got a PS4 for that
haha yeah true! Thanks Brad! With all this power you'd think there'd be more high end games for it, maybe soon 🤔
Broke
with ios 15.4 we now have added support for adaptive triggers.
we just need to wait for the devs to add this to their games.
Hope you make a video on this soon...
I'm definitely making a video on that. As soon as a game supports it I will be testing it, I hope some of my favourite games will be included!
Any news yet?
@@zeroanime01 I don't think so! It's uptown the game developers to update their games and apps and support this feature. Hopefully soon we will see bigger titles like Asphalt and others supporting the adaptive feature. As of now, you can just go though the version history in APP Store and check if they have updated this.
do let me know in case you find any game! :)
Hey guys!! I found few games. check out channel mrmacright, he has made a video on ios games with rumble support, about 7 months ago
hey alex how's the current scene regarding haptics on arcade games? also will dualshock 4 support haptics ??
Still wasn’t working on iPadOS 15 Beta 5, I will be testing again on the latest Beta and let you know 👊🏼

hmm i hope Apple adds everything people are ranting about in WWDC21. For now i am just waiting to get my hands on my iPad Pro which has shipped and will only arrive on June 4th.
yes, WWDC promises to be quite a big event for the iPad Pro...
I am really upset that the haptics not working
Is it a case of being enabled in OS but the app has to support it?
Hi there, yes I believe the apps will have to support it, even though it may already be embedded in iPadOS. I know it's early days but given the "song and dance" they made about it in the Apple event, I would have though at least one or two games might already have it. Oh well... guess we will have to wait 😊 Thanks for checking in by the way, I remember that username!
Do you think Xbox x Or Dual sense Controller problem i need also with PC!
I think it's an Apple issue and game developers...
Wait for it mikey

What abt the blooming effect on mini LED..? Did you notice it..!
Nothing yet! I did notice a couple of areas being a lot darker than others (barely noticeable), only happening under certain light conditions and not all apps, am trying to include that in my next video 😉 But will investigate this blooming effect as well and see if I can replicate it, thank you!
Watch Teoh on Tech's video of ''ipad pro 2021 display issues'' it's not a big deal as others say unless you max out the brightness at very dark room and watch with subtitles on black bar
Please, can I use it as a "magic" trackpad?
hi Leandro, I don't think so. It only seems to respond to certain games right now, not the iPadOS itself...
hey bud, what keyboard i’m looking at 2:33 next to IPP? thanks!
Hi there! That’s the Keychron K1V4. I did a review of it here: ruclips.net/video/r2UP9ZxVfww/видео.html 👊🏼

does it have inout delay on ipad?
Gaming on an IPad Pro is trash because, there is no way to activate the gyroscope or accelerometer while playing with a controller. Unlike IPhone with controller mounts.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
I honestly gave up on the whole thing to be honest. I tried too many times after too many software updates only ot be disappointed...
With the new iPad OS (from 15.4 onwards) haptics do work.
does it work for u?
Could you compare dualsense and Xbox x controllers according to ios gaming?
That’s a great idea, will look into that!
Don’t worry it’s coming.
Hope so too, not that I play a lot of games but would be nice! Thanks for the visit, are you considering an upgrade yourself?
@@AlexGTech I have ipad (2017), m1 ipad still runs ipados. The only thing I will get is “speed” ?
@@moviecutter2229 better display, thunderbolt, etc but really it’s just a much faster iPad Pro yes. There’s a lot of rumours on apple brining something new at WWDC in 2 weeks, like allowing people apps support (Final cut, etc) but no one really knows yet if that will happen
@@AlexGTech i will buy it right away if I could run windows on it. For example with the help of Parallels. But first it should support Parallels.
M1XDR iPad, Blooming effects especially noticeable at night might just be the mini led, vibrant moving grains when using the center stage front-facing camera, XDR screen but no HDR content or at least supported yet for the new iPad screen ( is all this normal?). Also, any free Adblock that actually works on iPadOS safari?
Honestly I did the blooming test and to me it’s a big difference in what the cameras reflect vs what we can see with our naked eyes. The glow being reported is there for sure but much more pronounced in digital footage than in real life. I’m pretty happy so far with the display. Adblock wise, I’m not sure, I use Chrome and don’t really mind the ads too much

Is it possible to play pubg with dual sense on ipad?
Doe the adaptive triggers and usual haptic feedbacks work now after the iPad os 15 update ???
Hi there, I just updated everything again and tested it... sadly, still no haptics or adaptive triggers... I tried Asphalt 9, Call of Duty mobile and NBA 2K21.
@@AlexGTech 😭😭😭. But thank you very much for the clarification ❤️❤️❤️.
@@AlexGTech I am thinking of buying a controller that I can use mostly on my M1 iPad and on my PC sometimes. I was confused between the xbox series x controller and the ps5 controller. While the ps5 controller comes with so many exciting features, I really like the joystick placement of the xbox controller, the seamless integration with PC and the fact that it uses removable batteries. I play most of my pc games either with my keyboard & mouse or a wheel. So the controller would have been mostly for the M1 iPad Pro. Which controller do you think I should go to ???
@@AlexGTech I'll mostly be playing racing games like F1 mobile. Which controller should I take ?

how about Mac?
Haven’t tried it but that’s a good idea, will have a look!
u do realize that the game youre playing has to support the haptic feature right?
I do realise that. But it’s been how long now? Apple showed this on the stage in April 2021. Blatantly lying
Great video 🔥
Thanks so much Tayo!! Looking forward to doing a proper review soon!!
Early days, not even sure if iPadOS has to update for haptics or app developers? It has only been out a few days so a bit early to be critical, especially as most Tab S7+ gaming apps still do not use 120Hz and that was released 8 months ago.
It is a millennial thing complaining about things like this, it will no doubt arrive eventually, or not, just show patience, as the iPadOS 14.6 has not even been released yet (with updates for the new M1)!!! I am hoping AAA games come to the iPad, which is more important for the gaming community and we should see at WWDC?
Hi there, yes I agree with you. There are loads of great things about it, I just didn't have time yet to produce a longer video today so rather than throwing this idea away I thought I'd put it in a video. I was really looking forward to it though, and expected some games not to have it but on the event they actually showed a game being played with the controller next to it. so a couple of games in Arcade would be ok. anyway, it's clever marketing and ultimately I fell for it but it wasn't the deciding factor in me buying the device 😊 I just fell a bit cheated that's all. I am with you though, WWDC should be big for the iPad and honestly, if I didn't run a tech channel I'd probably have waited till WWDC before buying it. Looking forward to what's to come, have a great week ahead 🙏
Is the game updated to support haptics? Do you have haptics actually turned on in the controller setting on the iPad?
I think that's where the problem lies, the game and iPadOS software are not yet able to support haptics. Shame really as they promised it!
Haptics only works with DualSense connected by USB not by Bluetooth.
Update it
I have… Are there any games you know of that support haptics now? I am dying to try that.
@@AlexGTech there is this app where it show all controller supported games just search controller and it should be a controller design on the logo

@@AlexGTech for now not many have it cause they don’t have full controller support but later I’m sure many games will have it!
Waiting to see the haptics video!
Not working for me. Which game did you play?
@@R0cky0 there is not many games right now but how I know that APPLE actually supports it is cause when the controller is connected a new setting called game controller will be added and there you can test the haptics by tapping a button

Smooth gameplay on the M1 iPad Pro 🔥
Hi Tayo! Yes, this thing is amazing so far when it comes to the display!
Anyone know if you can connect the ps5 controller to the new 2021 iPad Pro via wire with a usbc to usb? I’ve been using a Xbox one controller via Bluetooth but I can notice the lag a little…. I know the newer ps5 controller has bluetooth 5.1 but I’m sure wired would be the best way to go. Anyone tried? Or has anyone compared the newer ps5 controller vs Xbox one controller in Bluetooth to see if there is a latency difference?
Hey Jay, I haven’t tried it but will give it a go via USB-C and let you know. I should do an update anyway given I’m using the latest beta version now…
@@AlexGTech Appreciate it!
@@AlexGTech Went ahead and bought a PS5 controller and the charging usb-a to usb-c charging cable and am happy to say it works! Latency issue GONE! I just played first COD mobile BR game with it and won the match. I haven't won a BR match in like a week from people getting the drop on me. So yes if you have at least the hyper drive usbc hub, which is what I have you can use the PS5 controller wired for a latency free gaming experience!! I've only played COD mobile with my old Xbox controller via Bluetooth so it was so surprising how fast my shots were firing when I touched the trigger button. And with the slide jumps, I'm going to have to get used to this cause when push the buttons as fast as I was on my Xbox controller I hardly slide at all. Plus the stick placement between the two controllers I'll need to get used too also. But I'm glad I bought it. Figured if it didn't work I could always return it. On a side note. I bought the steelseries Archos 7p headset too. And using the PS5 controller wired the headsets usbc doggle won't work. You have to use the included 3.5mm converter cord. But I'm returning those anyway cause the old 3.5mm apple ear pods sound better lol. Also if you're using even Airpod pros for gaming and don't think you're having any latency. Just try wired headphones and you'll be surprised. May not be much latency but it's definitely enough to effect your game. When players are running around all over in COD mobile its so much easier to tell where they are. Just wanted to let you know it works. Peace!
Excellent!! That’s great to hear and thanks for the heads up on the audio as well!
I’m looking forward to when the games start to update with haptics too!
@@AlexGTech Yeah the haptics will be awesome. I did watch a video that showed a couple games that are already updated and have them but can't remember which games. I think one was a car racing game....
Great review as always 👍
I will be buying a maxed out iPad Pro 12.9 with cellular only after an announcement that somehow makes the m1 worth having. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll wait for an m1x or m2 MacBook or iMac 30” or jump the gun for an iMac 24 😂

@@AlexGTech I went for the 12.9 inch. I am scared that the blooming may be too visible to me. Really hope not!
It is noticeable to be honest but….
1. usually in places where I don’t care and under light conditions that I normally don’t spend a lot of time in.
2. It’s much more visible on camera than through naked eye.
Nothing to worry about in my view but it’s early days and of course some people could be getting defective devices, that’s always a possibility…
