I love mine so far !
@@flybubbleparagliding how does it compare to the GTO Light 2 when it comes to storage space and vol biv capabilities?
Received mine last week that I ordered from you guys, Great service thanks. Have not had a chance to go for a fly with it yet. Looking forward to it
Really good review as always. Would be nice if you could include the EN-test for the protection on the harnesses ☺️👍🏼 I know I can find it on Air turquoise, but still would be nice to include in the viedos. Cheers.
Hi, I have been using one with a large Photon for the last 12 hours flying in Slovenia (Tolmin) and Montalegre, Portugal . It's a great harness, and will be my go-to harness for most flights. I have used a GTO2, a Lightness 2 and a Impress 4. Out of the 4 harness's the Impress 4 has got to be the best, however the Lightness 4 comes next. The Impress 4 is a heavier almost twice the weight of the Lightness 4. Comfort wise they are about the same.
The main difference is the control you have over the glider. Both in Slovenia and Portugal the conditions where strong. In strong conditions I can react to most quick changes in thermals with weight shift from just my upper body and bit of brake using the Impress 4. The neutral position being in the centre of the harness. With the Lightness 4 I had to do a lot more to keep the glider under control and needed to be weight shifting to the inside of the turn as the neutral position. its a light weight harness and may not be fair to compare to a comp harness like the impress 4.
I may be me no getting the best out of the Lightness 4 and may need to play with it in less strong condition to learn to get the best out of it. There was a problem with the catch on the harness where the instrument panel would detach (some times). I did have this but its easy fixed in flight. There is a fix for this but I won't bother getting it fixed until the winter
Hey Iain, thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts on your Lightness 4 and Impress 4! 😊 In brief, I agree with all you've said. For a semi-light pod I find the handling the Lightness 4 is superb, however the handling of the heavier Impress 4 is even better, is how I see it. For me, the Impress 4 is still the best all-round XC harness I've ever tested. From what I can tell, it's still the best all-round XC harness I've even seen. Nancy feels the same. After 4 years of using our Impress 4 we're finally selling it, still in excellent condition (yes, really - see the listing), to replace with... another Impress 4! We'll also be keeping art least one Lightness 4, for when we need that weight of harness for the wing we happen to be testing. Also for those lighter wind fickle days, where we expect to do more slope landings and carry ups! 😃
@@flybubblecarlo Did you test Impress 4 vs. Arrow (standard one)? There are even competition pilots who switched to Arrow, especially accelerated it moves way less and therefore has clearly better glide.
How does it stack up against the GTO2?
@@Vl7248 I have both the GTO2 and the Lightness 4. I much prefer the Lightness 4. I found using the GTO2 with the Photon hard work at times as the GTO2 has a tipping point where if you are weight shifting hard into the thermal but thermal is strong it can be tipped to the opposite side of the once at the centre point. Lightness 4 hasn't this tendency. On the GTO2 side, It has an air bag that makes it more compact.

Hmmm, well done. Waiting for more, please. ?unstable - or response in the air? Stable - less response? Will definitely try one to compare to my lightness2 and weightless. I just ordered one. I skipped the 3 one, but this Lightness 4 ist ticking my interests, definitely. 👍
I like the new Lightness 4 it’s a very comfortable harness, gives a good damped feedback from the wing it’s more stable than others because you are more positioned forward in the harness and it also looks very nice and sleek.
Storage compartments are a plus. Smart reserve system…
However, there are a few things that could be improved: The cockpit, pfffffff every time after takeoff I have to reposition the cockpit for a good visibility of the instruments, the angle could be better and without the windshield it hangs, the red front strap if tightened comes in front of your instrument view if it’s central positioned, you can fill up the cockpit compartment space this helps a little bit. Sometimes the blue cord slides over the wrong side and in front of the cockpit and comes over my instruments after takeoff, so I need to flip it back (under tension) during flight underneath the cockpit, I'm gonna need to find a solution with a extra bungee or strap or something.
Quality of the harness is good but maybe my speedbag was made on a Monday morning or there was something wrong with the sewing machine but the speedbag has really bad stitching, threads that are loose in several places and seams that are stitched incorrectly, I am personally quite a stickler for detail and I am afraid that this will get worse and maybe the stitchings will come loose over time…
Reserve handle is very close to the opening for the accelerator, pay very close attention when you connect the accelerator to your wing that the line does not run through the handle of the reserve! A triangular shape of the reserve handle like some harnesses and a higher accelerator passage through the harness could have solved this.
I also miss a drinking opening on the other side of the harness, drinking hose can now only be used on the right side of the harness.
Alias Speed: I personally would have used an other type carabiner, such as the one used with the Impress 3 has a better design. Sometimes when you walk to the start with your wing over your shoulder or walk to the side of the landing field, your lines get stuck in the twistlock part because the gap is to big, this risks damaging the lines.
Harness is also a little bit heavier (+0.2kg excl. windshield) than advertised.
It is a good harness but overall there is still a bit of work to be done to make it perfect.
What's your opinion on the Protector? I'm interested in knowing if the Skywalk Range 3, with its Perm Air Protector, offers more safety compared to the foamy approach used in the Lightness 4.
Amazing
When will it have an inflatable protection option ? 👀
Hi, thanks for the review!
What's your opinion compared to the arrow p you just compared?
Do you know if there is a airbag planned?
😀 Both great harnesses, in different classes. One's light, the other ultra-light. The Arrow P is Niviuk's equivalent to the Weightless, in Advance's range. To draw comparisons between these, watch our reviews of the Niviuk Arrow P and Advance Weightless. 👀👂

I don't yet know for sure if Advance have an airbag protector planned, or not, sorry.
Hi, yea what about sizing, or your "dimensions"? I have it in M as 180/80 kg, but I feel like I want to switch to L 😂
Hi. I would've thought that the size M is best for you and size L would be a bit too big.
We've currently sold out of size M but have more on backorder due to arrive fairly soon. Our website shows live current stock: flybubble.com/advance-lightness-4
Could you say anything about sizing? With 1,73 but short legs it´s always a pain...
@@mike_sierra I am 171cm with short legs and medium is spot on
You're a bit between sizes but the size S of Advance pods tends to be a bit on the smaller size so I would've thought size M is most likely best.
