Im gaining a lot of confidence by learning and watching these videos. Im a fastrax student and getting close to taking the CA general electrician exam. Thanks Paul
Hey man I really appreciate theses videos. I'm not going for my line voltage license just my low voltage as I'm an h.v.a.c.r. tech and these videos have really boosted my confidence. Thus test when I pass gets me an extra 10$ an hour and that can change my family's life. Thanks again buddy.
Much thanks Paul! When you got to the end of that last question, and after explaining that most resi water heaters are 4500w, it clicked with the 30 amps. You, in fact, just turned this particular question into a general knowledge question...for me. Keep it up Amigo!!!
Great information. Thanks for taking the time to show how to throughly navigate the code book. Side note, at 12:58, you mention “we go down and you can see that it is 1/0…” shouldnt that be “we see that it is ‘2/0’..?”
From the point of attachment to the service disconnect you would use the NEC. For anything on the line side of the POA, is sized per the Utility so you will need to get with them. Most manufacturers of utility cable give non-NEC ampacity values from other standards, such as ICEA and soforth. I only do NEC...
hi Paul . I have a air compressor 3 phase 220 V 15 HP. can I connect to 208V power? if Yes how many Amps breaker need and what size wires? please if you can help me whit
Well, if the source is 208V and the load is 240V (in this case, 230V for motors) then you get approximately a 25% reduction. So, the output is ~75% of the original output if the source is 208V.

The Remote Control and Signaling question is very confusing when using the 2023 Code Book Couldn't find this answer
That episode is not on the 2023 NEC. Changes in the 2023 NEC make that one a challenge but again it's an episode using the 2020 NEC.
I was stressing trying to find the same question in the 2023 book, good thing I came to the comment section 😊
@@MasterTheNECthanks for all your videos, they are really helpful…..

Nope, listen again, as I clearly say 1/0 isn't going to work, so we go to 2/0.
question, what is the utility wire amperes rated for ?
can i splice any service wire size on here with the utility wire?

@@MasterTheNEC Thank you Paul. So how many amps breaker should I use? Size AWG wires? Should I install a disconnect also?
Thank you 🙏
