For those having problems getting this to work. After carefully looking over my own build of this farm (and especially if you have a villager just standing there) I found the problem was with using slabs. If they are located in the top half of the glass block they will prevent the villager sleeping and moving freely. Switch them for full blocks sat on the top of the gaps in the glass. I did that and the 'stuck' villagers were running around and golems spawned immediately. As other have stated below, I also added a water layer below the lava to push the loot into a single hopper too, as I didn't have the iron to make all those hoppers.
I love the iron farm! Some QOL changes i've made to this process over time: 1. put a lever beside the iron door to the villager breeder, allowing the door to stay open longer so you don't have to button press so much 2. 2-block wide staircase to the farm makes luring villagers up easier as it gives you room to run past each other 3. if you do the boat method for keeping the zombie from despawning, increase the size of the zombie platform so it can't reach any of the villagers. using piston let's it reach the villager on that side. 4. i always make the landing/burning zone 2 blocks larger than the width of the spot where the golems drop to keep them from landing on walls. 5. i always have an auto-composter near my landing pad to convert all the flowers into bone meal. such a good bone meal farm. auto-sorting is good here too. 6. close off each villager once getting them in place.
I built your last Iron farm, I'd suggest using a lightning rod, mine was running for about an hour before a thunderstorm hit while I was AFK and one of my villagers had turned into a witch, had to kill it and make a new staircase to get a new villager inside it.
To save on hoppers you can put a water source in the bottom that leads to a corner that has a 1x1 lava source that burns the Iron golem. you only need 4 signs and at most 2 hoppers.
For those of you running into an issue where the villagers never sleep and therefore stop panicking and stop spawning golems, there's a pretty easy solution. Just use sticky pistons from underneath to periodically block off the villagers view of the zombie so they can sleep. You can hook them up to an Etho hopper clock or some other clock with decent length delay. For the Etho clock, using 16 blocks in the hoppers seems to be a good amount for me. It's long enough that the villagers all have time to get to sleep, but short enough that it doesn't majorly impact the farm's performance. Hope this helps!
Mud blocks and bricks are really great to use. I was thinking how cool it would be to have a mud stone brick variation when I was building my farmers house the other day. Great build and great episode!
so watching you build this, im not sure if you want to take a suggestion but if you need to save on iron, you can take that kill chamber and expand the layer below the signs to a 5x7 and add water in the corners, centering on a single hopper for collection. may not look as nice initially but its 5 iron vs 75
To anyone thats having issues (regarding all the villagers in constant panic and golems not spawning) … make one of the rooms slightly bigger… if a villager is getting hit by the zombie on one of the sides… make that the room you make bigger. You can just leave the other 2 sides open as shown in the video, so 2 villagers are constantly panicking and the other is panicking/able to sleep.
For those who want their farm to work consistently without any repairment add a sticky piston at the base of the platform to block of the view of zombie 5o villagers and connect it to day and night sensor and villagers will always sleep at night and will work at day
A bedrock iron farm would be great wattles i play bedrock and finding a good iron farm from one of the minecrafters i watch all play java none have done a bedrock iron farm it would help me a lot thanks wattles 😊

What's the advantage of using 15 hoppers over just putting a water bucket in the corner and a singe hopper and chest in the opposite corner? Water pushes iron golem over to the single hopper before they die.
I watched, copied & learned then added one of your older iron farm builds to my repertoire, and it's been consistently good and efficient. A note I've noticed: the villagers [for me, anyway] need to all sleep at least one night (just block the zombies/villagers site area) before they really start "working". Then ya just build an AFK area (maybe fishing for exp/food) and you come back from sleeping to a lot of iron and bonemeal. 😄 Also, if you have silk touch, you can make a quick ice farm for basically water block placers in cases like this.
Sick of all the pink flowers? A mini build idea could be, chest into a hopper, hopper into a composter, composter into a hopper, then that hopper into a chest. Endless bone meal. Love the series by the way. I'm 49. I play almost every day.
Perhaps it is, but I have a easier one with other handy drops too. 1. Find a dungeon with a zombie spawner (I got lucky, one was in a convenient location near my railroad) 2. Build a zombie farm 3. Kill zombies (use Looting III) 4. Get iron nuggets 5. Make nuggets into ingots 6. You have loads of iron!!! This also will sometimes cause the zombies to convert into drowneds, hence giving you copper ingots sometimes, tridents rarely, and occasionally even coral (I have a datapack installed). In addition, it also produces experience points, pieces of junky armor that can be made into nuggets and disenchanted, potatoes and carrots (why zombies drop this, I don't know), and apparently also chicken drops (a chicken jockey spawned for some reason). It even produces golden nuggets if you have a certain datapack and use a certain sword. It even gives you emeralds, just indirectly (clerics buy rotten flesh for some reason)!
@@Engine1988 You playing modded? It's loot table was probably adjusted. It's not part of the vanilla loot table. The only way to get iron nuggets from zombies is to smelt any iron tools or armor that they drop.
