“Big Daddy”Don Garlits was working on an electric dragster, and he wanted to be the first to hit 200 mph, but after he hit 189.03, someone else hit 200, so Don stopped the project. He was 87 years old on his last run.

just as a reference our club, ECTA had a member run 200mph in an electric lakester in the mid 90's. this was on a 1 mile track.
