Leroy Davis put more of a show on than normal for the blood and guts film. Dorian states this on a podcast which one I forget. Leroy only trained with him for a few years at the end of his career. His longest partner was the black guy called Kenny in his older photos.
True, i ran 3:38 for the marathon and was told only good runners can beat the 3 HR mark, literally a year to the day later i done 2:53, i was determined to show they were wrong

I trained at the old temple gym back in 87 for a while when dorian ran it,seeing him up close in the flesh the man was a beast,had an aura about him, definitely a man on a mission.
Dorian was the original mass monster, he moved the entire sport into the modern era and was as hardcore as they come. He inspired me a lot back in the day in the magazines and still influences my training to this day. #PBonXmas #nodaysoff #getterdone

Yeah, but should we thank him ? He was also the first Mr Olympia with a big gut later in his career, and set the trend for all who followed him. Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm a huge Dorian fan, and his '93 version is the greatest Mr Olympia ever seen on stage. I've got the Ironman magazine with that years Mr Olympia report, and Dorian had a whole page photo montage, and every pic was astounding!! But the huge guts that followed ruined the sport, and necessitated the introduction of Classic and Physique divisions to get back to what the roots of bodybuilding were - looking good. Not just big - but good. Even beautiful!!
seen him 1995 couldn't fit through a door had to go side on. After this following year I was in best shredded shape of my life. His back pose from the front never matched ever, total package and condition, but remember until you saw him in the flesh you've no idea how big he was he was colossal and shredded like a mythical diamond cut hercules

I had exactly the same childhood as Dorian. Even the same age when our dads died, i even had a pony like he did and viewed school the same. I also didn’t like people and focused on myself. Now I’m older and people still suck! Mostly
I think, Dorian Yates,made a granite statue,that is hard to replicate,, he's more famous now,than ever,,, Bodybuilding cannot be for the faint hearted, extreme discipline must be the key,,,like Rich Piana says 5%,,in Dorian's case it must be 1%..

@@jozefmikula533 I know about Dorian more than you for sure. And I know what he said about his genetics. You have to learn something about genetics. Genetics is not all.about shape and aesthetics, it's also about structure, muscle insertions, ability to gain mass and lose fat. Dorian was over 90 kg jacked only after 9 month of training, now tell me this is not the sign of great genes. It was easier for him to gain pure muscle and lose fat than most of his fellow competitors. Of course he worked harder as well but not only that, his genes play a role too
@Popa 100% conditioning yes but that’s not what I’m on about. Flex’s genetic potential was sky high if he trained with Dorians intensity and intelligence Dorian would of got smoked hence why I’m saying Flex was only ever 80% of his potential. We never seen a true maxed out flex. Dorian won despite having far worse genetics through his work ethic. He’s said the things I’ve said multiple times.

I met Dorian Yates in Sydney Australia once. He is a genuine human being. Extremely nice and he actually took the time to have a conversation.
I wish I had seen both Dorian and Ronnie when they were in their prime, but I did see Victor Richards in person and he blew my mind !!!

@Popa flex was only ever 80% of a prime flex at most. He had so much untapped potential .Dorian just trained 2x harder than everyone.
