    I don't have UV resin to some my shrink plastic, but using clear embossing powder works very well too! just sprinkle it on top of the charm after it's been shrunk already and put it in the oven for a little bit while keeping an eye on it. there is a good tutorial for this technique on RUclips for it. I thought I would share this for anyone who doesn't have access to UV resin or wants to experiment to see which technique they like better c: I haven't experimented with adding glitter to it but I think if you just mixed the glitter with the powder before adding it to the charm it would work!

    Oh my gosh the wind almost blew us away too! Lol, I am glad you uploaded your beautiful creations! Since you inspired me to get out my shrink plastic again I think I am going to do a simple DIY sometime soon. The stamped ones look so cool. But OMG stitch and Angel! They are our faves! And if course they needed glitter. Ahhhhh I can't believe you love Fairy Tale too, we watch it every single night, binge watching trying to catch up!

      NO! Don't do it! ... unless you don't mind having to pay through the nose. Michael's is the MOST expensive place to buy craft supplies. I only use them as a last resort or if they have a very good sale. I found shrink plastic kits at my local dollar store.

      been watching shrink art videos all day. The plastic I found at the dollar store has a smooth shiny side and a scratchy or cloudy looking side. The cloudy side should work with good pencils. I have not tried any of this yet, but have heard that Crayola or Prismacolor both do a decent job. Prismacolor is the preference of most. They make regular and watercolor pencils. Some plastic is smooth on both sides and only works well with permanent markers. It can be made usable for other mediums, though, if you rough up one of the sides with sandpaper or something. Steel wool might work, I'm guessing. Search for more shrink art videos about how to color them with pencils. Some people also like to use chalk pastels or oil pastels. It is going to be fun to try out all these different methods and ideas.

    for the layered heart(or all the domed ones for that matter) designs, i feel they would be much better as pins? i don't know how you would attach the backing/clips but it would seem like a cute addition to clothing or bags

    • @razzvanwinkle9718
      @razzvanwinkle9718 6 лет назад

      I'm guessing glue. Another way is making a hole in the charm first, before baking it. Then it can be threaded on ribbon, wire, or whatever and attached to pretty much anything by tying it on or connecting with a metal loop like a jump ring or key chain, for example.

    When you draw in white (edges and outlines like on the little people on this video) what do you use? a pen? or is it still pencil? I love white, but struggling to find permanant white pen to use on shrink plastic. Ideally it would be good to know how you outline in white, but any other tips about white- would be really helpful. x x

    do you know if there are shrink plastic papers that you can print your own designs on? :)

    • @razzvanwinkle9718
      @razzvanwinkle9718 6 лет назад

      I've seen people using rubber stamps to print patterns. You can also take any design (yours or someone else's) and place it underneath for easy tracing. You could just as well draw your own designs directly onto the plastic, if it is more convenient. Then, apply color and bake. I've been watching videos on shrink art all afternoon, but have not tried it yet. Being able to do this with original art is precisely why I am interested in trying this craft. Good luck with your projects. :)

    • @razzvanwinkle9718
      @razzvanwinkle9718 6 лет назад

      There are apparently different types of plastic. The ones I bought at the dollar store have a smooth side and a scratchy side. These are suitable for any medium, from what I have learned. If the plastic is smooth on both sides, you can only use permanent markers to get good color on it. Otherwise, you can take sandpaper or something like it to roughen up the surface, allowing it to work with colored pencils, chalk or oil pastels.

    • @razzvanwinkle9718
      @razzvanwinkle9718 6 лет назад

      UPDATE: I just saw what I think you are looking for in another video. It is called: Ink Jet Shrink Film and it can be used with a printer. I don't know if I'm allowed to post the URL of another video but you can search for: Try it Thursday - Shrink Art Bracelet. The product brand that is used is called: Grafix, but I would imagine lots of other brands make a similar product. Seek and ye shall find. :)
