Sean, mom way in tears laughing at the numerous bags of daffodils you bought by mistake. She reminded me that she needed about 2 meters of elastic for some pants and she bought 70 meters. Extra daffodils are way better than elastic band😂
Never mind a shorter video at least we’ve seen you. Loved the nod to the advent calendar with your Yorkshire tea, RIP advent calendar. I thought no laughs today then, but the bulbs made me laugh. Loved your soup maker yesterday, looked amazing, perhaps a tutorial on how to use it before we purchase, that would be great. When you said Bristol thought you were back on your travels again to sunnier climbs. Look after that back when lifting that heavy box of bulbs. Loved the idea of planting some on the hills. See you tomorrow please even with a short video. Thank you🐞
I feel you re the back Sean. I do hope that it feels better soon. My back pain affects the way I walk. It hurts! Mine is caused by a job I had for many years - nurse's back
In my retirement village , we have porcupines ( protected species) that eat bulbs first and then other root vegetables. Now there is a PSB ( porcupine salad bar 😊) down at the river to discourage them from our gardens…. Had to laugh at your wonderful shop of 200 daffodils ( maybe you were reading poetry, when you bought them “ I wondered lonely as a cloud…” etc )😁 I do hope your back is better son- it’s so debilitating…
Hi Sean. I vaguely remember you saying that you were going to buy more daffodil bulbs, to plant in drifts, just off of the main paths up on the mountain when you couldn't find the ones that you planted years ago, so that everyone who walks the mountain can enjoy them. 😊
I like your soup maker, the leek and potato soup looked fab and I'm tempted to buy one now. I hope you can find a bit of time to make some other veggie flavours over winter.
Aldi and most other regular supermarkets are now selling bags of fresh veg for 8p, such as 2kg potatoes, or sprouts, parsnips, broccoli, carrots. No need to spend on online Waitrose veg.
Hiya Sean, I get you wanting to reduce potato consumption. I also find my shape changing with age (though ROUND is a shape, so technically I'm still "in shape" ). Something I do, which you may actually like, is substitute radishes for potatoes in stews and around roasts. NO, they aren't flour BUT they lose all sharpness and are extremely mild + slow cooked in a liquid or slow roasted in the oven they take on all the lovely flavours you care to add. I often put them around a roasting chicken, with onions and garlic and sage or savory. They make a great, super low carb side that tastes really good. I swear, it's worth a try no? Just remember, low and slow, let them brown in a bit of butter until very tender. Outstanding veg. Works with daikon radishes too!
Hi Sean, Jacks was just a brand name Tesco came up with to call a discount arm of their portfolio they were trialling, similar to what my old firm Somerfield did back in the 90s with the discount brand Food Giant. It was supposed to be themed after American style grocery stores, , pile it high, sell it cheap Tesco introduced a small range of products under the Jacks brand too, ie your Brown sauce.
@AnimaMundi641 when I was at Gateways / Somerfield they turned 28 of their biggest underperforming stores in to Food Giant, a puke it high discount chain, was really fun times, but then they bought Kwik Save and it went tits up from there. They also trialled 2 other branding Solo (budget) and David Greg (Higher end) which both failed. Food Giant was basically doing what Aldi and Lidl s are doing now, cheaper than the main supermarkets, had bakery and everything else including non food,
I almost always order too many bulbs, but not quite that many, I ordered loads of stripes tulips to put in my dads yard, and found out that he only wanted solid red and white ones, so I ordered some of what he wanted and planted them, and planted the others by the window of a care home in my neighborhood. Hopefully they will brighten someone’s day but in the end I ended up planting about three hundred bulbs this fall. I planted a lot of small cupped daffodils this year so we will see how it goes this spring
I was giggling as you revealed how many packs of bulbs you purchased. It will be lovely to see them planted and blooming. Maybe put a journal by your computer and jog down notes at 3 a.m. of plans and purchases. I have heard of sleep walking, but this is a first on sleep shopping, 🤣🤣😂
Tea, a credit card and late night shopping tv... never a good combination! Lol... Love aromatic bulbs though. My next flower garden will be primarily aromatics even if it is a little over the top. Just love the aroma in the air. I actually just started a 2 year back pain study with the Veterans Administration (Veterans health care in the US). The study is supposed to go over 6 years but my part will be over 2 years and focuses on chronic lower back pain especially in military veterans, so I am excited to learn some new ways to get over my issues!
I love Cyprus potatoes, they are earliest but keep going for a while. Great for salad, or new potatoes, put that wonderful welsh seaweed in the ground as you plant, the flavour is lush! ❤😊
🤔 I must say I agree i grew those and thought they were tasteless. I kinda cheat and use my 1st early as a salad crop. Like pink fir apple or anya. Then leave the main crop in for later. As I use mostly salad pots in the summer 😊
Thats a good idea to plant some daff bulbs at fairy falls with potatoes stick to what you know. When i had an allotment just had mpipers and new for salad toms leeks rubarb and some flowers from seed packets. And onions and spring onions.
I don't like Sarpo Mira either! If you've got the time when in Bristol tomorrow you should visit the Brunel Clifton suspension bridge, or Cabot tower off from Park Street. I hope your pick up isn't far from one of the local stations. I'm not far from the Sea Mills Station!
I grew Sarpo Mira which is a blight free spud at the same time I put in my usual maincrop Maris Piper and early spud Pentland Jav and out of the three varities I only had blight on Sarpo Mira
I am going to sow my onions on Boxing Day I v herd they sow them on that day as a tradition think it’s to do with giant veg competitions for the shows I think but I am going to sow them just to have a start to the new season looking forward to the spring
Looking out of the kitchen window to a sea of daffodils would be magical. And you have that big flower plot beside the summerhouse where you could sit and appreciate them.
Foremost are a staple here. If you’re cutting down on spuds but like the taste, remind me have you tried the baked potato squash? Aka mashed potato I believe? Late night shopping 😂
Take care of your back..I like Yukon gold potatoes.....Thanks for the video....I saw a mens choir from Wales called, John's boys...on A.G.T. they did such a bang up job. Thought you might like their singing...rest up.
I start planning my potatoes around now. Pink Fir Apple are top of my list, a little awkward to clean, due to their shape, but well worth it. I grow a few potatoes I have never tried each year in bags, just to try out. This year ‘Sparta’ were super, will be growing these this year.
Wow! All those daffodil bulbs! You did well. My 3am purchases are stupid lotto tickets in an attempt to win enough for a home. I would be happy looking at 250 daffodil bulbs in bloom instead of fantasy gambling. Re your bad back...I spent a year in bed with my knees up and over a box to straighten my spine. Tedious but it works when my degenerative disc disease kicks in. Take care. Blessings to Wales, from New South Wales, Australia. Summer solstice is our longest day, but the real heat starts then. Sigh!
For the last two years I’ve used the Sarpo Mira main crop spuds, fantastic yield, delicious and versatile, I bought them after watching a you tube video of a blogger, who grew them in soil but in large containers, it suited me, as I only have a back garden…it’s still on you tube to view, have a gander, see what you think
That looks wrong drinking out of that cup without your sombrero and shades. Instead of going on the internet when you can't sleep why don't you try drinking Herbal Teas!!!!!!!
Sean, if the video is going to be short, we demand to see those beautiful amber eyes!!!!! Give the viewers what they want 😂 Need some Amber in our life 😊 Hope you are keeping well.
If it's fine on Thursday I'm planning to go Friday afternoon 😅😅😅😅. Did you get your tulips in too. I've still got a box full to put in. Thinking of trimming them up for Xmas 😂😂😂
Best through ebay app buying items, least money back guarantee, I have not recieved goods 3 times in the last 6 wks, thank fully I did get my money back, keep warm &stay safe ❤
Just a thought, Sean, but could the item not have been posted to you, registered delivery and saved you having to make a long journey in the winter? just thinking of your energy levels and bad back. I am elderly and housebound and have ebay purchases shipped to me. Loved your soup maker the other day and the soup looked delish! xx
So sorry to hear about your back. Good on you doing the exercises. Hope for a better day tomorrow. I adore daffs. My favourite. What a glorious showing you will have at the homestead and in your garden. And a lovely addition to the mountain too. Just like you and your cousin did many moons ago. See you tomorrow. 🎄👍🏻
I have similar 3 am shopping habits at times. XD You could always "guerilla garden" and randomly plant bulbs in yards around the village. Or pick a mountain path and plant a bulb every 50 yards for a bit of color. I would do something weird personally, like plant them next to headstones when the groundskeeper isn't looking. No reason for graveyards to always be dour and gray. Donate some to a class of young gardeners to grow at home? Plenty of uses. Also, I had to hustle and juggle to pick up my medications and groceries as my car has expired tags. Lots of standing in the cold waiting for Uber. So yes I agree with canceling the day.
Can you grow sweet potatoes? They count as part of your 5 a day & I've seen you use them before, so just a thought. I've never grown them. Hope your back is better soon.
Good morning to you Sean, holiday went well enjoying you Vlog, Looking forward to more homestead videos, lots to see,, your recent video walking along the valley is a treat to watch.. . Seasons greetings to all .💚🌹
I think you said in a different video when you were walking through the trees that you and your cousin planted some daffodils years ago and that you might buy some more to do the same, maybe that's why you bought them 🌱
Hi Sean, re the online store you purchased your video camera from, they have a money back guarantee, so if you don't get the item, you click on the purchase and click "not received" and this opens a case with said store. The seller then has three days to respond and if you've requested it offer you a full refund. If you also paid through the Pal of Pay you can get your money back that way too If all else fails by opening a case which if you recall I had to do for a different item but not through that online store! The first method is quicker and easier tho! Oh you did make me laugh re all the Daffs it was like something out of Mary Poppins with her bag! 😅 Yep I agree with what someone else said re planting them on the mountain. Hope your back gets better soon. Take care..🙂
Hello Sean, you always inspire me…yesterday I went to World Market while inspired got some Yorkshire tea bags (joy, joy)!!! …and only had to infuse my bag for 4 minutes…😉❤️😆
Hi Sean, Sorry about your back, give it some rest for a couple of days!. We grew spuds on north west coast of Ireland. After new potatoes (so good) )we grew second crop to avoid blight. They were very good and when stored properly lasted most of the year. No main crop. Wish I could remember the names (25 years ago now) Enjoy Bristol!!
Thank you for this video anyway, as you always have interesting things to talk about. Hope that back of yours gets better very soon. Blessings from West Devon, England, and Jilly & Madge. xxx
Once in the ground, those daffodils will be harbingers of spring for years to come. By the waterfall, they will be heavenly. Be careful doing that. 250 is a lot.

Cracking bulbs' order - looked like Mary Poppins magic handbag for a split second 😂
Hope your back eases Sean and good luck with your trip. Oh my, all those bulbs... Should be a lovely display for you .
Never mind a shorter video at least we’ve seen you. Loved the nod to the advent calendar with your Yorkshire tea, RIP advent calendar. I thought no laughs today then, but the bulbs made me laugh. Daffodil farm … roll over Amsterdam, hello Rhondda !
Make sure you’re back from Bristol to receive your Waitrose order.
I feel you re the back Sean. I do hope that it feels better soon. My back pain affects the way I walk. It hurts! Mine is caused by a job I had for many years - nurse's back
In my retirement village , we have porcupines ( protected species) that eat bulbs first and then other root vegetables. Yes that was it 😊
I remembered the same. You can find the video, Sean!!!
Definitely correct, I thought at the time what a lovely idea it was, but how long it would take to plant them all!
Them dreaded 3am purchases, when your half awake and half asleep,we have all been there. Are you still planning on doing a calendar?.
Ohhh dear you counting those daffodil bulbs made me laugh so much 25 haha ❤
I like your soup maker, the leek and potato soup looked fab and I'm tempted to buy one now. I hope you can find a bit of time to make some other veggie flavours over winter.
Aldi and most other regular supermarkets are now selling bags of fresh veg for 8p, such as 2kg potatoes, or sprouts, parsnips, broccoli, carrots. No need to spend on online Waitrose veg.
Is it possible that one of your advent teabags had a little bit extra in it? Might explain the mystery bulb order.
😂😂
Hi Sean.
Yorkshire tea, is the best.
Can't beat a nice cup of hot, Yorkshire tea.
Xxx
I hope you have one of those bulb planters with the long sticks so you don’t have to bend over.
Hiya Sean, I get you wanting to reduce potato consumption. I also find my shape changing with age (though ROUND is a shape, so technically I'm still "in shape" ).

Omg Sean 😅 i was thinking you had a bottomless box containing those bulbs
That’s a very attractive mug - like a burst of sunshine 😊🔆
Lidl have Christmas veg for 8p and it is very good quality. Take care of your back.
Hi Sean, thought the record had got stuck 25, 25, 25 😀
I think you’ve got the councils order there Sean, that’s a lot of daffs 😊
As an unbiased observer I feel that you have given these tea bags a fair appraisal. We get the subtle message.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi Sean I love daffodils so pretty ❤
I like a nice fluffy potato rather than waxy potato 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔🤎🥔🥔🥔
Definitely 👍🏻
Here, here. King Edward's and British Queens are favoured in our house.
Love the ‘fluffies’ too ! Maris Piper, and King Edwards for me !
Tea, a credit card and late night shopping tv... never a good combination! Lol... Love aromatic bulbs though. My next flower garden will be primarily aromatics even if it is a little over the top. Somebody went daffy for daffodils🙄🙄🙄😉
ive done things like that Sean but its never involved tea !! Usually Vino Banco
Thats a good idea to plant some daff bulbs at fairy falls with potatoes stick to what you know. When i had an allotment just had mpipers and new for salad toms leeks rubarb and some flowers from seed packets. And onions and spring onions.

I am going to sow my onions on Boxing Day I v herd they sow them on that day as a tradition think it’s to do with giant veg competitions for the shows I think but I am going to sow them just to have a start to the new season looking forward to the spring
Growing potatoes are good for clearing ground
Looking out of the kitchen window to a sea of daffodils would be magical. And you have that big flower plot beside the summerhouse where you could sit and appreciate them.
The daff story 😂. Love the mug n spoon. Speedy recovery wishes for the back ! Happy Christmas 🎄
We are digging up our first potatoes on Christmas eve.! But..shock! After debilitating hot weather it's been raining fir two days!! ( nz)
I’m doing the same (Australia) ! Such a treat, I have some beetroot and a few early tomatoes too!
Feel better soon!❤❤❤❤❤
Sweet potatoes are healthier for you and if you get the white ones they are less sweet if you don't want too much sweet.
Weren’t you going to plant some bulbs where you and your cousin planted them in the mountain trails?
Foremost are a staple here. If you’re cutting down on spuds but like the taste, remind me have you tried the baked potato squash? Aka mashed potato I believe? Late night shopping 😂

Yukon Golds are delicious!
Have you tried Carisma low-cal potatoes? ~ 47 cals / 100 grams
That's a lot of daffs 😅 beautiful flower though my favourite 🌱
I start planning my potatoes around now. Pink Fir Apple are top of my list, a little awkward to clean, due to their shape, but well worth it. I grow a few potatoes I have never tried each year in bags, just to try out. This year ‘Sparta’ were super, will be growing these this year.
We grew the Sarpo variety in our Park community garden area to avoid blight, but I agree Sean the taste wasn’t very good.
I hope you've not ordered any potatoes the same night or early morning as the bulbs...that'll be a lot of spuds 🙈🤣🤣
🤣

All those bulbs for £20, how?

There will be lots of daffodils in your part of Wales this spring😂😂😂😂😂
