worked for me.. The only step where i got stuck was the driver installation process.which took about half hr.. but after that it was very easy and worked like a charm.. thanx a ton uploader..
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I flashed a preview of Android L and turned out it was really buggy. It wouldn't allow me to download or even transfer files from my computer to the phone. I had tried everything and this was the only thing that worked. I had doubts about it at first because of it's simplicity but great job on the developers part!! I've never been happier using stock ROM! :)
I'm running stock 4.4.4 android on my nexus 5 and I want to unlock the bootloader to flash the 5.0 factory image without rooting or anything. Can I lock my bootloader and reset tamper flag after that without any problems and keep my warrenty?
Ineed help. After i enable usb debugging and plug in to the computer, the message where it says something about fingerprint doesnt show up. Am stucked on the adb checking part. Please help
Followed all steps. Nexus 6 with N6F26U installed. Under Developer Options the "OEM bootloader lock" selection is greyed out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dan
i have cm 12.1 os and whant back stock os on nexus 5. in flash stock +unroot i must chek first point _ soft blicked, or second_.normal? sorry i have bad english
So will this literally delete everything like how it came out the box? I'm missing 6 GB and its not nandroids so I'm thinking about doing this and starting fresh
When I go through the steps of 'OEM Lock' it doesn't find 'ADB Recovery Connectivity' and then leads me through how to fix this, but I've done it 7 times now and it still doesn't work. Please help.
great instruction. but what do you recommend if i can not get into my nexus 5 to enable developer and/or debug mode, etc? is there a work around? I have nexus root toolkit, etc. but can't seem to get around anything to get my mobile device back to operable status.
I did this one on my computer, but then i tried opening adb.exe and it closes automatically im having issues with my phone and i have to take it back, please help
What if you have custom ROM.on your phone will that go as well when I unroot and relock the bootloader???? As I'm.thinking off unroofing my phone and returning it back to factory ? Please give me a reply as don't really wanna damage my phone
Hi, my Nexus 5 was rooted with Build number - KRT16M. would like to know the question like Ratul Rahman that how can i got the OTA update from google ? I cant from any "System update" under "About Phone" in setting. Thanks.
Hey man thanks a lot for such a good video. I have a question .... the present situation I am currently in is that I have unrooted my Nexus 5 from the SuperSU settings and now I wish to relock it. is this process still valid ?? if not how should I do it ??
İ am running 5.0.2. My N5 hasn't rooted. I want to return 4.4.4. I think I can do this with stock .tar factory image which I downloaded from developer.android. if I do this, can I update my phone again without any PC app.
Thanks a lot for this video! My nexus has been having problems so tmobile is sending me a new one since I'm "covered" under warrenty. I had to relock my phone or else I wouldn't be covered!
he BB, I already downloaded the stock rom from devloper.google now do i need to select other or just have to put the downloaded .tgz file into some specific folder so that it won't download another 427mb ?
Minato Namikaze If the device is working fine then select Normal. If the device won't boot up or keeps restarting on its own then you select Soft-bricked/bootloop.
I doubt it, but you can give it a try. That usually happens if you're missing the drivers for your computer. The instructions to get the drivers up an running are in the app.
No that's a different type of unlock, the Nexus 5 should be carrier unlocked by default (unless you bought it from a mobile network provider). You can Google search. This is unlocking to modify the software only.
I'm new to all this but i think ive managed to do it with my nexus 7. I was having trouble with boot loop :( . You could of mentioned one thing though which was to do with mine when installing flash imaging file, it said "archive does not contain boot, recovery, system" and did nothing after this for a while so i kept thinking it was had not worked and so i started again.. but after a while i decided I'd leave it overnight and slept on it. well it did install and i now have a nexus which so far seems to be working like new, i think you should of mention it may do this and take a while. If you know the answer to this question anyone who could answer this correct? - can i ask after you have done all this.. is it safe to install all future updates from on your nexus which pop up? xx
First off, Babbling Boolean thanks for the great video and leading me over to *****. I was able to download the NRTv2.0.5 program to help with the Flash Stock + unroot + oem lock. I got through all the steps, a few more than your video mentions, however with NRT it was EXTREMELY simple to follow along. At the final step when doing the OEM lock, the program went through it's process but the phone managed to stay in bootloader mode. In the end, the phone was unrooted, however I still have a "unlocked" security lock at the google home screen. I've read else were that this isn't a big deal. I have no intentions to send this back to Google as it is well outside of it's warranty and I actually bought it rooted anyways. Can anyone else confirm that it is indeed fine to leave the phone as is? Or is there another set of steps I should follow to try to get the bootloader locked? When the OEM lock step was initiated I did get a message at the end that said it was locked, but I know the security lock should be gone. Any help would be great!
If you're keeping it and not returning it or selling it, it shouldn't matter. An unlocked bootloader just allows you to flash any custom ROM you want, if you don't plan to, then it shouldn't be a bother.
Thanks Babbling Boolean Just starting to get into all of this. I'm working on rebuilding 2 other phones. I have another Nexus 5 and a Nexus 4. The 4 needs another new digitizer. Been through three of them!!! lol anyways..thanks again for your time
Yes, this will work with 4.4.4. Just make sure to select the right android build and build number. Also when using nexus tool kit now and you are flashing a stock rom, just select the Android 5.0 factory image when they prompt you which factory image you want to choose as the 5.0 stock factory image has just been released.
Babbling Boolean I'm a novice when it comes to the whole Relock Bootloader/ Unroot/Stock Recovery process. I'm having an reboot loop issue with my nexu5 most likely happened when I first attempted to revert to KitKat 4.4.4. If you could share a video on how to fix Soft-Bricked/reboot loop issues using Nexus Root Toolkit. If you can that would be a BIG HELP !!! Thank you in advance :)
Restart your device. If it shows an unlocked padlock on boot up then you have an unlocked bootloader. If there isn't one, then your bootloader is locked.
Hi... i got a rooted and unlocked nexus 5 with Team Win recovery project 2.7.1.1 Now i want to update to lollipop 5 with root and unlock... can you help me? which is the right procedure? i got to follow all this video instructions then install lollipop with OTA than unroot unlock and install custom recovery? Ups! When i was going back to stock it booted TWRP to finish flashing stock or something, but i checked again and i have the stock recover, btw i'm returning to custom rom and recovery because i'm flashing the stock rom with 4.4.1
worked for me.. The only step where i got stuck was the driver installation process.which took about half hr.. but after that it was very easy and worked like a charm.. thanx a ton uploader..

Works perfectly on Nexus 5 LRX210 5.0 thanks a lot !
This only works with an unlocked boot loader? My boot loader is locked my phone is unrooted I just need stock recovery
he BB, I already downloaded the stock rom from devloper.google now do i need to select other or just have to put the downloaded .tgz file into some specific folder so that it won't download another 427mb ?
Haven't tried it myself, you'll have to ask the developer.
well... seems like i'm on my own then...
great video! You saved my Nexus 5, thank you so much for this tutorial!
When i have CM11 ROM now , and i need it get back to STOCK ROM i must select device is on/Normal or Soft-Bricked/BootLoop ?
Minato Namikaze If the device is working fine then select Normal. If the device won't boot up or keeps restarting on its own then you select Soft-bricked/bootloop.
My build number is right except the last part, I have 4.4.2 cyanogenmod and it says KVT49L, what should I do!?
same problem here!!
Can I do this if I currently running CyanogenMod (to back to stock)?
Elad Winner Yup, it's what I did.
Dude thanks so much ive been looking everywhere how to do this :)
Wait so, I'm locked to Fido carrier would i be able to do this?
Myy_Sen You should be able to, yes.
Babbling Boolean Bro it didnt ask me for the rsa key at the start...
Will it still work?
I doubt it, but you can give it a try. That usually happens if you're missing the drivers for your computer. The instructions to get the drivers up an running are in the app.
I have a question Babbling Boolean when you unlock does it unlock to any carrier??
No that's a different type of unlock, the Nexus 5 should be carrier unlocked by default (unless you bought it from a mobile network provider). You can Google search. This is unlocking to modify the software only.
Thanks Babbling Boolean

Will this work with 4.4.4? I want to unroot and unlock because of the Android Lollipop update OTA.
Yes, this will work with 4.4.4. Just make sure to select the right android build and build number. Also when using nexus tool kit now and you are flashing a stock rom, just select the Android 5.0 factory image when they prompt you which factory image you want to choose as the 5.0 stock factory image has just been released.
loveisawildride OK thanks for replying!
Should I do this if my computer cant download the proper drivers for my nexus?
No, follow the driver instructions built into the program, don't risk damaging your phone. If it doesn't work try on another computer.
Alright, I'll make sure I can get the correct drivers installed before I proceed. Thank you
Babbling Boolean how do I install drivers?
Juan Ramirez
There's a section in the app to install the drivers.

Restart your device. If it shows an unlocked padlock on boot up then you have an unlocked bootloader. If there isn't one, then your bootloader is locked.
Hi... i got a rooted and unlocked nexus 5 with Team Win recovery project 2.7.1.1
Now i want to update to lollipop 5 with root and unlock...

Have u found any solution yet?
i never unlocked my device can i still do the first step
I used towelroot to root My phone what do i need to do to unroot and update to 5.0 Lollipop
If you use this method will you be able to get OTA updates
Yes. The most important things are to have the stock recovery and stock ROM. You can receive updates even with an unlocked bootloader.
Did not work for me it says Fastboot is not found
