Hey, thanks for watching! :-D Also, I realize NOW looking at my quick magic performance at the beginning that it was not a flawless performance. Oh well... forgive me!! Maybe if I used more snappy rubber bands it would be better. Anyway! I thought Marcus Eddie was very entertaining, creative, and I love the stuff he makes. What about you?? What were your impressions? Comment below! AAAAND how did you like the ending to this video???? I try to spice it up sometimes... :-D

I think the "crumple" part of the trick is simple, many other tricks use a gimmick of the same type. The big question though is how he got rid of the deck so neatly. Unfortunately, there was some editing in the crucial moment...

One of the rare times Penn showed a shock moment, meaning he was impressed when the empty card box was reveled to be a full deck of cards. When Teller is impressed, he has the most beautiful smile. This guy has some secrets that one day it will be let out of the bag. Enjoying him in the meanwhile.

Man, Fool Us used to boast how cuts and edits were kept to a minimum to benefit the performers... but lately it’s getting almost as bad as AGT. Case in point, Allyson was holding on to the box of cards before they cut away to P&T and then he suddenly has the box in his hand to crush.

    • @biosdilt1399

No one wants to hear applauds for 10 seconds during a trick... be apart of the audience to have the privilege to applause.
It also avoids some of them to watch @ 0.25 speed ...
      It seems legit

We've seen quite a few magicians come on "Fool Us" and do an escalating series of tricks, starting with some basic magic, then on to some stuff that fools everyone except the elite magicians, and ending with something that fools P and T, all the while sparing us any unnecessary banter.
Marcus starts off by fooling P and T with a really good deck appearance, and follows up with some really basic card magic accompanied by the same lame joke repeated over and over again.
    Clever twist.

The deck has a “trap door” bottom for the ditch. It also has a flip down “grill” that Allison placed the card in. There was no deck when she placed it in the “grill”. He only had one card to grab and then smash the empty box. 👍🏼🇺🇸🤔 😉

The best magic from Jason P is that he raise interest in these people. Most of them I would just walk by. Who knows, maybe by this guy. Comes out, laughing with no reason (weed or what?) than does a double decker something of which he is closing painfully slowly and difficult. I mean, just how long it takes to close a deck for a professional magician? As for a 3 years old? I think I would've changed channel right there if it was not for Jason.
He is a magic himself, for he sees magic in everybody.

I'm really sad they skipped Penn and teller's reaction to his ultimate trick. If it fooled them both that badly that would have been worth seeing. One of my favorite parts of the show is their expressions (especially Teller's) when something really amazes him. For someone who doesn't talk he may be one of the most expressive magicians I've seen.

  • @MeditativeMoments1
    @MeditativeMoments1 5 лет назад +1

He had the deck behind the open flap when he showed the empty box. He obviously is placing the deck in when he closes it as we can hear and see far too much work going into the process.
The crushing of the deck is easy. He put the deck into his right pocket to take her card out. Then he took another crushable fake deck out to SMASH like we all do on your like button.

  • @monodescarado

With these P&T videos, the key moments can often be edited out so they aren't visible on a rewatch. I believe that happens at about 4.48 where we see P&T reacting (where Jason happens to pause it), but we don't see him take the cards out his pocket. I don't believe that after he puts the cards in his pocket, the cards ever come out again. Instead we are seeing some kind of gimmick that locks like cards, but is easy to collapse, for the rest of the trick.

While the guy is really nice the performance seemed rushed and deceptive, not really even allowing much time to understand whats going on. The box seemed fake as hell @3.11 you can even see weird folds at the front from the inside when its open. He brought the cards in the same way he removed them. With awkwardness. Nice idea but us spectators need to see the cards properly not just for a split second. The way he held everything was also odd. When you do something so quickly it ceases to amaze... Also far too much editing. He spends ages fiddling with that box and the edits remove too many key moments. On moment he has alisons card, the next a whole deck??? Hello edits!!

I love watching magic acts so It's convenient to know you have a bunch of videos I may have missed all bundled up in a nice little package with your opinions on them. I do want to say that I feel this guys performance had to be one of shortest non-exciting routines I've ever seen on P&T. That said, I still didn't know how he did it but I wasn't paying attention to the deck either time. I just figured it was slight of hand. For me the biggest surprise was that he fooled them. It's funny, I forgot that the "Dangerously pointy" trophy says F.U. Thanks man. Nice job! ^!^

The first trick (The one that fooled them): It's a trick card box, where one entire side is removable. When he opens it, he does it in a very specific, awkward looking way where the lid is actually hiding the cards behind it, showing the empty box. Just as he's closing the lid, he's pushing the cards back into the box through the side of it (I've never actually seen how this trick is done. Just figured it out based on the awkward way he held the box)
The last trick (they somehow know how he did this): I have NO idea where the cards went.

  • @ragweedmakesmesneeze

I'm not a magician, really just a fan, and I gotta say, the whole performance struck me as awkward. I mean, I did like his friendly demeanor, and I'm sure he is a very good magician, or at least creator of magic, but all the handling of the deck/box/lids whatever was a little tortured and just took away from the routine. For example the appearing deck in the opening trick was (for me) spoiled by the fact that it took him roughly 2 DAYS to shut the lid after showing us it was empty. It's like a comedian who kind of-sort of flubs a set up, but still manages to delivers a killer punch line...fair or not, it's just not as funny. So now all I can think about is a gimmicked box, instead of enjoying the performance. I realize magicians use gimmicks all the time, I just feel like the best ones are able to perform in a way that makes us forget, or rather not care about the technical wizardry behind "the curtain."

Love your videos and appreciate you doing these reactions, but you gotta stop questioning the cameras and the editing. Yes there is a chance that it's possible you missed something due to it, but saying it in pretty much every video basically makes you sound like you're making an excuse as to why you didn't see it. You seriously said something to the effect of...well they didn't show me the inside of the box...after the cards were loaded. Do you really think he went n showed ppl up close what he does with everything? Penn n Teller are sitting probably 15ft or so away, and they are the ones who have to try to figure it out. Anyways sry about the rant, I do enjoy 99% of what I've watched of your reactions. It is seriously just that little thing that gets under my skin. Keep the videos coming!

It was clear that the cards were pushed out of the box, hidden behind the flap as he showed it you can see it at 2:48 as he reaches to pull the flap, he actually pushes his finger into the deck which can be seen being pushed out ....then when he put it in his pocket, he pulled out a fake...it looked like a deck, but was hollow and had a collapsible support in the middle of it for alysson to press down on....and when he crushed it you could clearly see that the top 1/5 of the box could not be crushed, as this was hollow deck needed to have a "real" top for alyson to insert her card into

4:50 - 4:53 The cards in his hands are not really cards. It's a card box that looks like cards.
5:25 - 5:26 Alison must know that the card box doesn't contain real cards, because the box in her hand is super light.

I LOVE his #Refill trick; sadly, I got to his site a little too late the day he released it to be one of the select few to purchase it.

The card trick he showed was a diversion for the deck disappearing act.. to hide the real decks as he reveal the signed card on his pocket 4:29 then at 4:53 i think its a fake decks he returned in the box

This is not the version he sells online. The version he sells online does not allow for the angles he has here and you have to do a flip motion. He does neither thing here so this is new I believe.

My guess is that the box has an image of an empty box on its cover but yeah I have no idea how he crumpled it empty 🤔

GagamBino 319 When he put the deck back in the box it was after he put the deck in his pocket. I assume it’s some sort of gimmick that looks like cards but is some sort of paper or something that he could crumple up.

@@Balance33 that makes much more sense than the one I was thinking.. I was thinking that he was using a speciAl deck of cards🤭🤭🤭

He shows one side of the opened deck , but then when he shows the cards he pulls them from the oposite end.

i have to say, for me, the most surprising part was when you said you thought his theme was funny, at ruclips.net/video/7FR1P6XFRcY/видео.html Really? You think that's a funny joke? It's funny, because he's doing a series of card tricks, while repeating "this is not a card trick"? That's your idea of sophisticated humor? I think you're biased because you met Marcus, and so you know that he's usually clever. You have insider knowledge. But for the rest of us, it was barely a joke the first time, and it doesn't keep getting funnier each time he says it.

I never said I thought it was sophisticated humor. :) I just thought it was funny, that's all. And yes I could be influenced because I already like him from the beginning. :)

The rubber band trick you showed us... eh... needs work. It's too obvious that you pinned it under your thumb, and you can even see the band pulled tight around your wrist before you let it snap back. Using one from the middle of the bunch might disguise the tightness around your arm better, but I don't know if it would make it harder for the band to jump down your arm when you let it go.

Yeah I figured it needs some work too... but using the band closest is I believe how it was taught originally.. 🤷‍♂️
