Elliott, thanks for the review! We are currently working on a drop attachment that is compatible with the ALQD and also has compatibility with a leg strap. To make those AR Mags less bulky and less expensive, you can take off the ALQD and just attach them to the Double Loop.
I chose Dara for my SHTF operations belt rig after closely studying their product features. The prices don't break the bank like other manufactures do. Thanks Dara Holsters. God Bless the USA.
@@koltaire5938 Folded Kydex is what the 6000 series was, and Safariland has moved away from that to injection molded polymer with the 7000 series which had some issues early on. Additionally the quality of the 7000 series holsters apparently isn't up to that of the 6000, take that with a grain of salt. So if you want a kydex holster with level 2 or 3 capabilities you have to look elsewhere to Dara, Comp Tac, BGS, Ghost, etc...people default to Safariland brcause they are a known quantity but if that known quantity isn't providing the same product that earned them their reputation in the first place I don't see any harm in branching out. If you run Glock, Smith, Beretta, Sig P226, or another classic then congratulations you shouldn't have a problem finding a 6000 series to work with as long as they are still out there. But I personally would like to be able to have a holster for say a P10F, PDP, or P320 that is made out of a durable material.
@@Osprey1994 Boltaron (similar to kydex) is definitely a quality material. Injection molded plastic doesn’t necessarily equate to quality, durability or strength, it depends on the materials and fillers used, the percentages, the machine operators and the tooling and how it’s handled. @@azzystyle94 I've always had good luck with dara myself. The only brand I may consider over them would be tier 1. But ive got about 8 or so holsters from dara ranging a few different model glocks and my p365 and theyve all been fine. I actually have one one order as we speak for my 19X

I have this kit and I use as my duty gear. I carry X5 Legion. I'm very satisfied with is set up. I have several holsters for my pistols. I wouldn't have anything else
Currently waiting for a modified safariland holster for my sig m18 that has a herrington arms compensator. I know the x5 is a bit longer than the m17 so I'm thinking of buying that and hoping it fits. Does it come with an open bottom for muzzle devices? I can't seem to find photos showing if it does or any info on that. I also have a GoGunsUsa gas pedal on it, think it will fit?
Do you know if there's anyway to make this a Level 3 retention? I have a CZP10F and I'm starting a training academy in a couple of weeks that requires an L3. Safariland makes one but nobody has one in stock
Level 3 should be friction, a button that needs to be defeated and a hood. I see some holsters that say level 2 but are in reality a level 3 as they have a button system, hood, and some friction. PS. All of this is explained on Safarilands website under their education/holster-retention section. Level 2 would be no hood/strap just a button.
@@Osprey1994some holsters require the pistol be pressed downward or in a rearward direction as one of their security levels, i dont think the hood counts for anything except as protection for the optic
I dont think any light bearing holsters will ever hold the pistols just fine without the light, its also not recommended you do so even if it slightly works.
@@CaffeineFreak13 Rapid Force Duty Holster by Alien Gear makes one that works great. I threw a bigger light (tlr1) and had to dremel the holster a bit but it still runs with or without the light.

I have pretty high hopes for this company and their holsters because honestly, I don't want to give Safariland anymore of my business... They're website is a nightmare, and their customer service is terrible.... Once I saw Dara is based out of Wendell NC, I was all in, since they're local to me as well... I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Dara Holsters....

Tier 1 Concealed has a level 2 retention (like this one) with the Safariland QLS system for drop-leg.
