Did my part 3 VR Training last week. This week I did my In Car Training. Hopefully next week I complete my final Training then I can apply for the Pink License
ashley kew well said! I’ve trained a few people that sailed through the ADI exams then quit a few months into the job. I now make sure any potential trainees interested in training have the right attitude and approach to teaching before they join, rather than just because saying they like driving! It’s so much more than that
Not long passed my part 2 and had my first part 3 in car training which was so much fun.. Was tongue tied but to be expected.. Looking forward to next lessons... Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated 😁
Hi Howard - love your videos, currently finishing off my last bit of P3 training and should be on my pink by end October. I'm thinking of getting a camera to record my lessons and my interaction with my pupils to help me and my trainer - any tips on a good camera to get that doesn't cost the earth? The quality of your videos is great - thanks for all the help you give via these videos.
I used a GoPro Hero 4 for video and sound. Not too expensive if you find one on ebay. Or just use a phone, most will do a great job. Thanks for watching! Good luck on the pink
Anyone looking to become an ADI... don't bother. The most boring and mentally draining job I've ever done. Can't wait to give it up in January, good riddance.
VanManDan 93 what did you do before? I’ve been an ADI for 10 years and have never been bored or mentally drained! I have found every day, every lesson and every pupil to present me with different challenges. I enjoy working with my pupils to overcome barriers, solve problems and encourage learning and understanding. I run my own business and am rewarded for my hard work and effort.. Nothing in life is easy and becoming an instructor is not for everyone. I hope your next move in January works out for you.
Anyone looking to become an ADI... go for it. I passed my part 3 in February and can genuinely say I wish I had done it sooner. Worked all sorts of jobs in the past but this is the first where I look forward to starting in the morning rather than dreading it.
It's a personal take ... I've been in a similar field teaching practical skills and I have just started my ADI prep. Important thing is an appetite for any thing we decide to do as commitment and constant motivation is required till results surface and equally CPD plays a key role in growth... other personal / economic factors are a key indicators. For me going forward is the physicality of my current role over age factor and longevity/progressive sector related outlook. It is an uncertain pattern of income generating but most self employed roles are! You have to put the hours in ..being your own boss isn't for everyone, you cant call in a sickie to be out with your mates and still get paid! Building & retaining clientele is the biggest challenge, which I see at the moment but once you roll out you will build over time delivering quality and structured lessons, continuous progressive development of the learner as the key factor not grinding their progression just to get few extra hours of work. Not all learners are the same some will take longer to grasp concepts and its safe application, finding innovative solutions to help learning will benefit both parties. It all comes down to how one approaches this profession, quick buck or teaching a life skill!?! Good luck with your new venture!
Didn't work for dosent mean it won't work for others... that's not a good advice.. maybe try talking about what went bad for you and hope others could learn and develop from it.
I have my part 3 in a few weeks.just looking at your videos ❤

Try and relax, practice lots and the words will come. If you can find a learner to practice with, that would really help you.

If it’s not right for you doesn’t mean it’s not for others.
