*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*
Do you have transducer mounted on your trolling motor? I want to invest in spot lock on my V2, I have a transducer on my trolling motor. I was worried that the trolling motor my do a couple of 360 degree turns on spot lock keeping me in the locked position, and snap my transducer cord. Have you had the head do any 360's?
Mark I've never had a V2 but this particular model will only do 380 degrees so that isn't an issue. I have run Ulterra and Terrova in the past though and they would do about 1 1/2 turns before unwinding. They are supposed to unwind themselves before going to far.
No wind or current is the worst possible condition for any brand of motor running this technology. With out either the system has to "hunt" a lot. After 8 installs and running mine for many trips this is the "real deal"!!!

You have no wind Perfect conditioning
My ultera kept me on the perch the other day with spot-lock.
Yep... it's awesome!!
Is this with the heading sensor installed or does it keep this accuracy without it?
This was before the latest version. I would install the heading sensor on the new version.

James W thank you
Can I do a re calibration on my Ultrex?
If you mean recalibrate the heading sensor? You can do that by going through the process again.
Wind and current
Better than paying for power poles
It seem mighty noisy when it rotates, is this the way all of them are? Doesn't that transfer down the shaft into the water?
It's noisy but you get used to quickly.
I have an Aluminum boat, any issues mounting puck on Aluminum helm? Thanks in advance :)
