    When is the best time (month) to buy a used sled from market place?
    When prices drop the lowest?
    Thx again love your videos and great information.

      @@flyingtigre1239 I’d guess you might be able to get a sled for a better deal during the summer but more would be listed in the fall when the snow is flying so you would have more options to choose from.
      I’d be looking for something with fairly low miles, well maintained, a track in good shape and engine compression over 100 psi. Grease the skid, throw a new belt on, fresh set of spark plugs and ride it. You could always take it to a dealership after purchasing to do a tune-up.

      @ great thanks you are so right from my experiences for the last year … yes the selection I think is better during fall late march or April.
      I’m in the U.S. and was thinking would it be possible to buy a sled in Canada if I paid cash for it?

      @ The Axys sled I rode in the video that I said was my first real ride was eventually sold to somebody in the states. Looking at KSL compared to marketplace in Canada it looks like sled prices are quite a bit cheaper up here. Maybe somebody with experience buying used sleds in Canada and bringing them south of the border could comment.

    An 800 Axys with cut tunnel and narrow front end is still a major contender on the hill.

      Even a stock with stock front end and un cut tunnel is just as good in 98% of areas

      @@cheeseymccheese7249 Jeremy’s 2018 Axys in the video has a narrow front end. Feels close to the newer react front suspension that came out in 2019. Don’t think he’ll cut the tunnel, mainly just to leave it close to stock

    Thanks for putting this video out. I’ve been thinking of picking up a used sled and this was a great comparison on the pro ride vs axys chassis. Have you compared it to a Gen 4 ski doo?

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  8 дней назад +1

      @@ericgray8396 No problem! It was a fun video to make going through the archives of videos from the last 15 years! The last skidoo that I have significant ride time on was the XM. Really fun sled, but not the easiest to ride, especially steep technical side hilling compared to the Polaris Axys. The Polaris would sit on edge on its own whereas the skidoo was more like walking a tight rope you had to be laser focussed in spring conditions through the trees. That said I had way more experience on the Polaris than the skidoo. I still really liked the skidoo. The engine and traction was awesome.
      I’m hoping to do more sled comparisons this year. I’d like to get out on the new catalyst 858 and the new GEN five skidoo. The skidoo’s with their laydown steering post takes and getting used to.

    I had a hiatus from snowmobiling, so I went from Gen 2 (137" x 1.75") to Axys to Matryx lol. I missed all the stuff in between. Even my 2018 Axys 800 still had a chaincase because it was an SKS and not an RMK (155" x 2.4" series 5 track). So after a short period of ownership of a Matryx Boost 165 Pro RMK, stepping onto my current 9R Khaos 165 feels like a guy can conquer the world lol.

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  8 дней назад +1

      It really shows how big of an upgrade the Axys was. You can go buy a 2016 Pro-RMK and go almost anywhere the latest sleds can, and that’s on a 10 year old sled! The 9R is for sure faster and more capable 👍

    Great video. I’ve considered a used powder rig to fool around , mostly haven’t spent the money because of no one to ride with. Can’t go off trail alone, not too safe. How your snow? Not much north east America. Merry Christmas

    Take the 2012 and put a narrow front end on it + drop the front skid to the lower hole …still a capable sled and pretty cheap …2013 + with the belt drive & better boards even better

    • @JasonCaville
      @JasonCaville  8 дней назад +3

      I never tried dropping the skid to the lower hole on my 2012. Big difference? When shopping around I noticed that the 2016+ Axys asking prices weren’t far off from the 2015 and older Pro-ride sleds. The Axys chassis paired with the 800 HO and lightweight crank is a massive upgrade
