Seeing this video is making me consider replaying Dread! I had a lot of fun with it the first time i played it, lots of fun exploration and great moments. Definitely one of the beat final bosses in a Metroid game in a long while as well; Samus and Raven Beak really tear into each other at the end!
Ya know Samus really should invest in an E.M.M.i body that Adam can manually control from the ship. I'm just saying, having a virtually indestructible side kick would be pretty useful. Question of the video: I've asked in a community post what you think the next 2d game will be, so today I'd like to ask what 2d Metroid game you would personally like to see next may that be a fusion remake or Metroid 6.
I agree, Dread is one of the best. That said, Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid for me are both better in terms of having distinct, memorable biomes, as well as more compelling atmosphere. The EMMI gimmick was IMO the weakest part of Dread, and also, in spite of how great the story was, a lot of the biomes felt same-y and forgettable. Still, Dread does so many things so well that it manages to be a really good game. I may be clouded by nostalgia, but just imagining a remake of the space pirate portion of Zero Mission has me salivating. If the next game(s) can marry the rich, distinctive atmosphere of the series' earliest games with the level of polish and excellent design they're bringing currently, the resulting game would be unbelievable. They're definitely not failing on that front with Dread, but I think there's a lot of room to grow, which makes me excited for the series' future.
It is crazy how scary and hard this game is the first time through but just how easy it is when you get good at it. It's like simultaneously the hardest and easiest metroid game I've played.
That it unfortunately was. Credit where it's due, from what I've heard of the Japanese version, some parts of the writing do work much better. It doesn't excuse certain elements of the story, such as when you get the varia suit though. That was and always will be stupid.
Not at all. The environmental puzzles and exploration are way to simple and boring. The only challenge came from combat, which isn't even the point of Metroid games. I would say it's a downgrade for the series.
I'd really love it if they re-released Samus Returns on the Switch with remastered visuals.
I mean hey, they did it for Luigi mansion dark moon.

Still press the home menu button to grasp that I'm playing Metroid Dread
Probably my favourite metroid game!

I know right? First time beating the final boss took me an hour, but now I can beat him in like 15 minutes
Hope Prime 4 is shown soon.
Honestly, if we dont hear/see anything about it by the end of next year, I'm gonna be VERY concerned for its development.
Other M was mistranslated, tho

@@Berdomlikesgames Ive heard even this Varia thing was adressed in Japanese version.
Okay, THAT is something I definitely need to look into now cause I wasn't even remotely aware of that.

Best metroid game I think you mean 😁
